《Heavenly Will》Chapter 17 - The Truth From Back Then, Symbol Master

Qing Yun stood inside the room with a dejected expression on his face. He shook his head helplessly, “Damn, if I knew that the Lunar Silk Coat will remain bound to me after reincarnation I would have stocked more items inside it.”
Although there were still some items from his previous life inside the Lunar Silk Coat, there weren’t many, just a few medicinal herbs and weird items that Xiao Mei had thrown inside it occasionally back then.
Qing Yun smiled wryly. Thinking back, he thought he was gonna die anyway so he didn’t bother to gather any items or money. He somehow thrown aside the question of why an item he didn’t obtained yet was in his possession. There were already to many oddities around Qing Yun, he couldn’t be bothered with everything.
Qing Yun waved his sleeve as the Lunar Silk Coat transformed back into a ring.
“Ha, I can’t go about it blindly, this time I have to do it right!” A grave expression suddenly appeared on Qing Yun face, “Demon Gate first target will be the Divine Wind Empire. If I remember correctly, an elder from Demon Gate happened to come to the Azure Dragon Continent when he felt a sudden ripple of energy coming from this Divine Wind Empire.”
On the five continents, among the numerous sects that govern them, there are five super sects that are the hegemons of this world. Each of those five sects rule one continent, they are the self-proclaimed guardians of this world. They are revered by everyone as divine beings sent by gods to protect them.
Those sects are thought to be righteous and the most virtuous existence in this world. But how could Qing Yun believe that. In his previous life he saw the true nature of those so called divine guardians. They were far from righteous, but the most vile existence in this world.
“Ka, what guardians? What exactly are they supposed to be protecting us from? A bunch of bullshit!” Qing Yun eyes revealed a deep hatred as his killing intent was about to burst out. He eventually exhaled deeply and calmed down.
Among the five sects, Demon Gate was the most ruthless. They use demonic technique that need humans lives to act as cultivation resources. For them, killing someone is like cutting grass, they won’t blink an eye when killing people and won’t care how many lives were lost if it meant achieving their goals.
Qing Yun himself has killed millions of people in his previous life, but compared to a super sect like Demon Gate, it was like a drop in an ocean.

Back then, Demon Gate intended to use a grand formation to refine all the lives in the five continents. Fortunately, such a grand formation required an insane amount of energy to activate, so much that even one of the five super sects felt helpless.
But Demon Gate’s ambition was too great. They didn’t gave up and used a demonic technique to refine the lives of a great number of children to harness enough energy to activate the formation, however even that wasn’t enough. Eventually Demon Gate sent it’s elders throughout the five continents to search for artifacts that could serve as the core of the formation.
One elder happened to be in the Azure Dragon Continent when he felt a great surge of energy coming from the Divine Wind Empire. Although they were tempted they couldn’t act impudent in a continent ruled by another super sect. Even so, they eventually were the first to get to the source of that great energy ripple… Xiao Mei.
……
Inside a room in the Su Clan.
Three graceful figure were seated around a table. No one said a word for a long period of time.
Qing Yin and Su Yijun wore unnatural expressions on their faces as they shot perplexed looks at Qing Su.
Qing Su let out a playful chuckle, “Mother, Aunt, if you look at me like that, Su’er will be troubled, this Frost Blue Necklace is a gift from Big Brother Yun, I’m not able to give it away!”
“You damned girl, when did you start making fun of your aunt and mother?” Su Yijun face was filled with smiles, her tone was merry, “Sister Yin, it seems our conjecture couldn’t be more accurate. With today events we can be sure that there is indeed an expert behind Qing Yun.”
“Mn, Yun’er is in the possession of an interspatial ring, and even took out this Frost Blue necklace. It seems that this mysterious elder values Yun’er quite highly.” Qing Yin’s tone sounded slightly complicated.
Su Yijun sighed helplessly, “What’s done is done. Sister Ning hoped that Qing Yun would live an ordinary life, but it will be too cruel of us to tell him to remain a cripple.”
“Sigh, back then Sister Ning didn’t have any choice, if not how would she bear to leave her son behind. We both know how painful it must have been to decide for her own son to remain an ordinary human.”
Su Yijun and Qing Yin felt dejected. If it wasn’t for the circumstance from back then how would a mother bear to leave her child to another and wish for him to remain ordinary? In this world of martial dao no parent would be that cruel.

“Sigh, this is good to, Sister Ning left Qing Yun with us to save him, she never truly wished for him to be a cripple. It seems to be the heavens will that won’t approve of that and guided Qing Yun to this fortuitous encounter. I wonder just who is this mysterious elder, even our Asgard Sect doesn’t posses such high ranked artifact as this Frost Blue necklace!” Su Yijun shook her head helplessly, there was a trace of admiration in her eyes.
Qing Yin laughed softly, “This necklace seems to be forged and enhanced by a symbol master, and quite a high ranked one at that!”
Qing Su who kept quiet by the side till now, was astonished by Qing Yin words, “Mother, is this necklace really forged by a symbol master?!”
One could hear the faint reverence in Qing Su’s voice. This girl never put anyone in high regards besides Qing Yun and a few people close to her, but even she couldn’t help but feel some admiration towards those symbol masters.
A symbol master is the most revered proffesion in this world.
Anyone could train and have some achievement in the martial dao, as long as one wasn’t a cripple they could refine the spiritual Qi and train in the martial dao. But to become a symbol master one needs to posses innate talent and a strong spiritual strength. There are few who meet the requirements to become a symbol master.
Qing Yin nodded her head and smiled, “Although there are some blacksmiths who can forge items with magic properties, they can do so just by forging some spiritual iron or other materials with magic properties. However the outcome will be an imperfect item”
“Take for example this Frost Blue Necklace. If it was forged by an ordinary blacksmith it would raise your cultivation speed by at most two folds, of course the Frost Blue Lotus it’s spiritual item between heaven and earth, an ordinary blacksmith won’t even be able to forge it in the first place.”
“Just a symbol master who can use refining formations would be able to forge such a high ranked magic item.”
Qing Su listened to Qing Yin explanation eagerly, her eyes gaining a new glitter with every word. Although she may seem like a refined young lady who would always keep her composure, Qing Su was someone who pursued the martial dao and had a great interest in the mysteries of the dao.
Seeing Qing Su’s glimmering eyes, Su Yijun let out a soft chuckle, “This Frost Blue Necklace doesn’t look like something dug up from some ancient remains. It’s probably something made by Qing Yun master.”
Qing Su started, “Then, Big Brother Yun’s master is a symbol master? If this elder took him in as a disciple then Big Brother Yun can become a symbol master?!”
At this question Qing Yin an Su Yijun could just look at each other helplessly. They didn’t have the means to find out. Just another symbol master would be able to find out if someone posses the innate talent to become one.
Qing Su’s beaming face suddenly froze as if she remembered something. Her eyes revealed a gloomy light with a trace of killing intent.
“Hehe, don’t think too much, the symbol master that helps the Xiao Clan and Qing Clan is merely a copper rank symbol master. I hear he didn’t even opened his 6th spiritual gate yet, he’s far from attaining silver rank.” As if knowing her thoughts Su Yijun tried to console Qing Su.
“With his current prowess he can’t enhance magic items. All he can do is to refine some medicinal powder and poison for them.”
Although she said all this, Su Yijun tone wasn’t too persuasive. The Su Clan has a physician who can refine medicinal powder but he couldn’t even compare with a mere copper rank symbol master. The copper rank may be the initial stage of a symbol master but with the help of refining formation, even a copper rank may be able to condense a pill with great difficulty.
The difference between medicinal powder and a shaped pill is the difference between heaven and earth. When the pill is formed it’s properties are greatly enhanced.
One of the reasons symbol masters are revered is because of their ability to refine pills and enhance magic items. Of curse, that didn’t mean that a symbol master battle strength is limited. It is said that a martial practitioner won’t even last ten moves in front of a symbol master of the same rank.
A peak copper rank symbol master could easily defeat a Xiantian warrior in the middle layers. Although their prowess is best described by their ability to refine and enhance items, the battle strength of a symbol master shouldn’t be underestimated.
