《Heavenly Will》Chapter 4 - A New Hope - Part 1 - Reminiscence

Night came quickly and a full moon rose among the countless stars of the night sky. It was akin to an empress surrounded by her loyal servants.
Inside his room, Qing Yun stood alone atop of his bed. Qing Yin already came back and Qing Su returned to her own room.
Qing Yun had a frown on his face as he thought of ways to deal with the poison inside his body. But soon he let out a dispirited sigh.
“What exactly is this poison, I’ve never seen or heard of something like this before!” At this moment he wore a dejected look on his face. One had to know that Qing Yun had much confidence in his medical skills. If there was something that he was proud of in his previous life, it was his attainment in the dao of medicine.
Even if he didn’t like to boast, he was certain that one could’t find someone better than him, in the world of five continents, when it come to medicine. But now what? He found himself in the situation of being poisoned without any cure. How could Qing Yun not feel defeated.
Qing Yun shook his head and thrown that thought at the back of his head. Now was not time for self mockery. He had to find a cure no matter what or this life would be even shorter than his previous one.
Qing Yun trembled slightly as he thought to this point, “Damn, this is not funny at all!”
After a while, Qing Yun closed his eyes as the mark between his brows gave off a purple luster. When he opened his eyes again he found himself floating in midair among countless specks of light that were akin to stars. It was like he was floating in the night sky.
Qing Yun’s mouth formed a slight arc as he extended his hand. Soon, a speck of light landed softly on his hand. Once the light dispersed, Qing Yun was holding a thick book in his hand. The book looked ancient, it’s cover was made of wood decorated with golden gleaming metal. The letters on the cover, strangely enough, gave of a soothing aura as they could be read [Tome of Healing].

Qing Yun smiled and glanced around at the countless specks of light. Inside those lights there where different shaped objects, books, tomes, pergaments, tablets, jade slips. Each one of those gave of a magnificent aura.
“Even after reincarnation, is still here!”Qing Yun could’t help the elation he was feeling right now. This place was filled with countless cultivation techniques, martial arts, alchemy recipes and medicine books. Naturally, Qing Yun’s attainment in medicine originated from this place.
[Gate of Knowledge], this was the name Qing Yun called this place. He wasn’t sure why he had this space but he knew that it had something to do with the mark between his brows. That mark appeared when he entered the [Graveyard of Gods] for the first time. Back then he lost his consciousness, when he woke up the mark was already there.
He didn’t thought to much about it, after all this place was a treasure trove. When someone gained a treasure unexpectedly, they would first feel happy before thinking how they gained it. Moreover, back then he knew that he won’t live for much longer so he didn’t care. As far as he was concerned, it was something given to him by that old monster.
Qing Yun looked around trying to find something that could help him against the poison. Soon he let out a soft sigh. He was certain that he could find something useful here but it was useless right now. The gate of Knowledge had it’s own limitations, it responded to Qing Yun power. For now there were too many things that couldn’t be obtained.
Qing Yun could’t help but smile bitterly. The treasure chest was in front of him but he didn’t had the key, this certainly wasn’t a pleasant feeling. He shook his head and his figure disappeared from this place.
It was already past midnight. On the roof of a small house a faint figure could be seen. The figure wore a desolate expression on his face as he laid on his back and gazed at the night sky. This scene would make anyone feel a throb in their heart, that expression was not something a young child should show.

Qing Yun stared was gazing at the sky while he was deep in thoughts.
“Is this really alright? I…Why am I the only one who survived? They all died…It was my fault! Even if you give me the chance to be happy I… I don’t have the right to grasp it!” Qing Yun said with an anguished voice.
He already made his mind to live. For his mother, for his little sister, he had to live. Even so, he still couldn’t let go of his previous life. His lover, his friends, all those dear to him died one after another and all he could do was to watch as everything unfolded. When his time finally came, he felt happy, he could finally met them again. But fate was a funny thing, even when Qing Yun accepted his death, he still survived.
At that time he felt that it was the heavens way of punishing him, but he soon felt elated. He obtained the means to take revenge. That was the only emotion he was able to fell then. Revenge!
He didn’t had the will to live but even if he had to die, he had to at least drag those bastards together with him to the ends of hell. He was blinded by rage, in his quest for revenge too many innocent lives were lost. When he grasped this, it was to late. His enemies were dead but so were millions of innocent people. He knew to well that if he didn’t kill them all the lives on the five continents would be lost. Even so, he couldn’t help but feel displeasure towards his own existence.
He knew that there were other ways he could stop those wicked people, but he gave in to rage and that was the outcome. By the end even the two most important people to him gave their lives to save his…
Qing Yun was lying on the roof with his eyes closed. Streams of tears were pouring down from his closed eyes as those scenes were repeating inside his mind again and again. He eventually fell asleep.
Silence! Everything became still!
The sky looked ominous as dark clouds started to form. Soon, the sky above the Grencloud region was covered with dark clouds. Within them one could see countless thunder beasts ready to strike down. Strangely enough, there was no sound, but this silence itself seemed ominous.
The air around Qing Yun started to distort before a silver glow appeared and covered Qing Yun like veil. As soon as Qing Yun was enveloped by the silver veil, the thunder beasts inside the clouds seemed to tremble slightly. They seemed ready to strike down before a purple silhouette appeared above Qing Yun. The silhouette was formed by a purple fog like substance and it was just half foot tall. On it’s back could be seen a pair of purple wings.
“Hehe” The purple figure let out a melodious giggle as it flapped it’s wings rhythmically and started to fly around Qing Yun. The figure seemed very happy as it stepped on air and danced around Qing Yun’s body.
Since the silver veil appeared the thunder beasts seemed confused. It was like they were searching for something but they could not find it.
Time passed slowly and soon enough the dark clouds started to dissipate as swiftly as they appeared. The silver veil around Qing Yun disappeared as well. Just the purple figure was still hovering around Qing Yun. The figure flew around him several times before it came to a sudden stop. It stared at Qing Yun's face for a long time.
“Hehe!” After a while the figure let out a melodious giggle again as it came close to Qing Yun and kissed his forehead gently before swiftly disappearing.
Everything came back to normal. It was like nothing happened. Strangely enough no one saw the black clouds that covered the entire region…

The life of a teenage hellworlder
We've all heard of the trope that Earth is a deadly planet by galactic standard; and has thus honed humanity into a ruthless species bent on surviving at all costs. As it turns out, that trope is true. Sapient species that evolve on safe planets develop to be peaceful and compassionate - and the ones that do on dangerous ones become violent and selfish out of need - usually wiping themselves out. But obviously, not every violent species drives itself to extinction - resulting in them being feared and ostracized - including humans. The life of a teenage hellworlder is a sci-fi slice of life story that revolves mainly around Thomas, a sixteen-year-old New Britannian attending a Xeno high school, who befriends a lonely apex predator named Javqua. Getting written by two amateur teen writers, things may sometimes be inconsistent or be confusing - feel free to comment and point out these problems. Gore, profanity, and traumatizing content tags are only for minor events in the story and do not happen often. Chapters are around 1k - 2k words - pretty short, but that's because we're all busy with our own lives and school. Trust us - we would gladly upload 5k word chapters if we could. We tend to upload new chapters every Saturday or Sunday. Please consider supporting us on Patreon!
