Author's Note: This chapter was finished for some time now, but I went in and added a lot more dialog and details than before, it got lengthy. But trying to get the flow right here, instead of jumping from one place to the other like I had been doing. Enjoy!

Chapter 57 Sleeping Beauties

I am sitting in the Cafeteria with Rick and Alexander having coffee and breakfast. It is morning, and three days have passed since the Were-beast have been wiped out. We brought Cindy, Julie and Ki'Diera back to the Keep, they remained unconscious. I tried everything to communicate with them, but they simply slept, not waking up. I paced back and forth for two days till the Doctors assured me they were not in danger and had me leave the room to take a break.

The Three Doctors had no understanding of what was going on with them. It made no sense why they would not wake up, as they seemed fine in every way. They were not in a coma as far as they could tell, but simply asleep. At this time they were not in any danger and all we could do was watch over them and wait for them to wake up. It was similar to when I was out for four days.

I also mourned the loss of my friend Eddie. I remember seeing his head on the ground with the other three, but then the Drow appeared and all went to hell fast. Those fucking Drow, they are not going to stop will they? We have since tightened security, The Elite Guard man the walls and Watch Towers with their goggles active at all times. Ny'Har'en and Regular guards are there as well, but only the Elite and Regular Guards can detect invisibility.

The remaining Marines and Soldiers are at the site, with the 11 who volunteered for the Barony Army when it first came to be, also 8 of the Elite Guard were there. They set up a killing field for the portal area. Every hour a new batch of Were-beast portaled in, 3000 of them. They are wiped out in seconds, 50's cals from 5 of the Hum-Vees as well as the 6 tanks I had, were put in place and used. The Marines and Soldiers used their rifles to quickly cut thru the masses, they had risen to level 96, so the Rifles were more than effective. The Elite Guard were quickly gaining levels as well and were swapped out with others each day.

It was more an execution than anything else, my only concern was ammo, but we needed the people there to ensure more did not arrive unexpectedly. Sgt Montgomery was in charge there and aware of the ammo issue, he also set up shift rotations as they needed rest too.

I am still not sure how they found us, the Drow that is. Magic is still new and fresh to us normal humans. My thoughts are interrupted as I hear one of the 50 cal's go off, then it is joined by others as they fire too, I rush out of the Cafeteria quickly followed closely by Rick and Alexander.

“Report!” I say to Foutz as I see him, the guns have died down.

“Someone got jumpy thought they saw something and opened fire, the others just joined in.” He says with a grim expression. “This invisible Drow thing is eating at them. They are getting really nervous and anxious doing watch for 12 hour shifts. Some are starting to jump every time the wind blows lightly.”

“Alright Foutz thank you.” I say to him

“Even the Ny'Har'en are getting jumpy”, Ricks adds.

“Yeah, We need to do something about the Drow.” I sigh,” having to split our forces to cover the walls and the portal site is not helping matters and the communication gap between the Ny'Har'en and the rest complicates things, those Shaman would have to use all their mana just to let everyone communicate daily. That is why I do not have them with the people at the portal site.”

“Your Majesty, can you not make more of those bracelets like you made for your wives?” Alexander asks, since the wedding, Alexander insists on calling me Majesty, it is not about friendship or anything, but simply a respect for the position, I can respect that having served in the military.

I look at Alexander like he had asked me a weird question. It did not occur to me to do that. The last three days have been hard on me, or rather I have been hard on myself to be honest, on how could I have changed or stopped the events that unfolded, going over and over in my head how things went down. My thought process is not clear, as I spend most of my time waiting for my wives to wake up letting Rick and Montgomery handle the walls and the site.

“Thank you Alexander, that is a good idea and I think I can do that.” I say to him with a weak smile, something has been bothering me about the events three days past and my mind keep going back it it, distracting me.

I take my leave of everyone excusing myself to go see my wives. Everyone understands as I rush to the infirmary. I enter and the nearest of my wives is Ki'Diera, whom I approach and look at the bracelet and then copy it right away.

Can I modify this? Can I add to it? I can only try. Alexander had touched on something, when he said I could copy the Bracelet, I could copy, but can i modify it came the thought to me as well. Standing there, not waiting, I close my eyes, holding the Bracelet and envision the ability to see invisibility on the bracelet. I feel a pull on my willpower, and my mana is being sucked away slowly. Then I feel a calm over me, it was done. The Bracelet now had invisibility detection added to it.

I look and my willpower had been dropped by 20 pts. I used up 2820 mana for the process. I copy the bracelet, it goes faster this time. 5 pts of willpower, and 470 mana used to copy it and it took a minute. I sit down in a chair and begin to copy the bracelet and wait for my wives to awaken.

I am able to make 32 more bracelets before my mana and willpower are close to 0. I feel light headed and sleepy, I let myself drift off in the chair.

“Scott, wake up, Ki'Diera is awake” someone nudges me gently. I look and it is Doc Snow, I look quickly at my watch and an hour and half passed since I fell asleep.

I blink at him, the words he spoke registering in my head. I look and see Ki'Diera sitting up in her bed wide eyed looking around as if trying to understand where she is. I get up quickly and head to her. Doc Snow moves towards her as well and begins to check her vitals and look her over.

“Princess? Are you ok?” I ask softly in a concerned voice.

“Scott why am I in the infirmary?” she asks confused. Then sees the IV attached to her arm.

“You have been asleep for some time young lady, but you seem to be ok for now, but I want you to stay here overnight at least and let us check you in the morning before I release you” Doc Snow says and then begins to leave,”I will give you two some time to talk things over”.

“You passed out princess, what do you remember last?" I ask her as she looks at me with a confused look.

She gives me a funny look now,” After killing the were-beast we exited the building, the four heads fell to the ground in front of us, then I awoke here.” she says,” no wait.....I feel like I drifted away, I......” Her face goes pale, like a sudden memory hits her.

“It felt like a being of immense power talked to me, it said sleep, the power in that voice was indescribable.”, she says staring off into nothing.” It felt like my soul was torn or being shredded.”

I lean in and hug her, “you are ok now princess.”

She hugs me back and then sees Cindy and Julie in the beds next to her asleep.”Scott what happened?” she asks.

“Long story short, you three were possessed and then destroyed everything including the Were-beasts. You three chanted none shall hurt your child”. I step back looking at her, sigh and say.

“Possessed?” she gives me a funny look again.

I simply nod, then I say to her”you all were asleep for three days now, you woke up first”

She looks at Cindy and Julie, then slowly at her ring “could it be because of this?”she asks holding her hand out with the ring on it.

I look at the ring shining on her finger, there is a very faint glow on it. It is healing her? I take her hand into mine and look closely at the ring. I can copy this for them, right? They should wake up then too.

With that in mind I begin to copy the ring.

“Scott are you ok? What are you doing?” Ki'Diera asks, concern in her voice.

“Copying the ring Princess” I say to her focused on the ring. It takes a full 15 minutes to copy it and the strain is felt. It feels more complicated than the Bracelet to copy, but finally I have a 2nd ring in my hand. I feel light headed again and my mana also feels low.

I sit down on the bed, Ki'Diera is massaging my shoulders “Are you alright?” she asks softly.

“I feel light headed, that took alot out of me just now.”.I say to her, my voice is weaker. “I need to lay down” I say and lay next to her in the bed and she takes me into her arms like a mom does a child.

I awake and feel Ki'Diera is still holding me tightly, she is sleeping too. I look around and it seems to be early evening. I glance at my watch, it is 7:45pm now.. I need to make one more ring, but first let me get the bracelets handed out. I gently remove myself from her, but she quickly awakens.

“My warrior, you are awake” she smiles

“I feel better now princess.” I say to her getting out of bed.”I need to get the bracelets to the men, they are all on edge because of the Drow.”

“the Drow, they came here?” She asks with a questioning look on her face.

“They tried to kill Cindy, that is when you three became possessed” I say to her.

“The prophecy said our children would never come to harm..I wonder if that has anything to do with it” she asks out loud while in thought.

“I believe so, the power you three put out was beyond incredible.” I say to her, my expression must have told her something as she quickly pulls the IV out of her arm, then jumps out of bed and hugs me.

“I am fine now, back to my normal self” she says soothingly.

“I know, but what if it happens again” I ask her, my voice weak and scared.

She does not answer. We both stayed like that for a few minutes, holding each other.

I let her go, “I will be right back let me get these bracelets out.” she nods and finds her clothes and starts to get dressed.

“What are you doing princess?” I ask

“I am getting dressed, is that not obvious?” she replies.

“Princess please at least for tonight, stay here and let the doctors give you a look over before you leave ok, please?” I ask almost pleading to her.

She sighs and then heads back for the bed, “Fine I will stay the night, but come morning I am leaving this room” she says.

Satisfied I quickly leave the room and head out to find Rick. I had stored the bracelets in my inventory.

I find a guard who tells me that Rick is on the walls with the Elite Guard. I head out and climb the stairs to the top of the wall and see Rick looking over the wall to scan the area.

“Taking a shift too, Rick?” I ask him as I approach.

“Yeah I feel I need to be here with them, they are jumpy and letting their imaginations run wild” He replies.

“Maybe this will help” I say to him bringing forth one of the bracelets and hand it to him.

“What is this?” he asks looking at it then gabs hold of the offered bracelet and looks it over. He then reads it abilities.

“Scott you made this?” He asks scratching the back of his neck.

“Yeah, I copied my crown then added the invisibility detection to it.” I say to him with a light smile.

“Scott this is incredible, I have no words to begin to say what this will mean and what you have done here.” Rick starts looking in awe at the bracelet. He then puts it on and it bonds with him, after a few minutes of testing out abilities.. “wow , I can feel everyone around me, I know where each person is in range”.

“I hope this will calm people down, I have 31 more made, you can hand them out to whom you see fit and I will make more for the Ny'Har'en as well, that way the communication gap will be gone too.” I say to him as I begin to hand more bracelets to him.

“This....this is simply amazing Scott”, Rick says staring at the bracelets.

I nod to him, “I am going back to my wives, I will see you tomorrow Rick.”

“You know Scott I always gave you a hard time about being with more than 1 woman, but I see how much you care for them. Know if there is anything I can do to help, let me know ok, Cindy and Julie have grown on me and I care for them too, like daughters mind you, and I hate to see anything happen to them. That Ki'Diera girl she is something tho” He lets the sentence trail off there as he chuckles hinting as certain events.

I laugh,” yes, I have my hands full with all three of them..”

I take my leave and head back to the infirmary. I find Ki'Diera has fallen asleep again, Doc Snow is sitting at a desk writing on some paper. He looks up, sees me and smiles. I nod to him as I enter. I take out the ring I copied, look it over and take a seat in chair. My mana and Willpower are fully recovered now. I look at my Reality Manipulation and see my skill rose to skill level 22 and my mana cost is 11.5% less after making the bracelets and ring.

I also see I have not yet allocated the unused skill points. I rose 54 levels to level 101. I had 540 unused skill points now. I dump them into focus and Willpower again and look over my status once more

So each gained 42 levels. Ki'Diera lacks gear like we have, we will see if we can do a profession upgrade with her later. But time to make the last ring.

After dismissing the status' I then concentrate on the ring, letting the system guide me, it feels a little easier, plus the extra skill levels, willpower and focus helps a lot too. It happens in 13 min, the stress is not that bad at all this time, and I do not feel as light headed. Looking at the ring I slowly get up, and walk to Julie, taking her right hand I place it on her index finger. It immediately begins to give off a soft glow.

I lay her hand back on the bed gently, give her a light kiss on the forehead and then walk to Cindy, and do the same, it too begins to glow. Giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead as well, I then make my way back to Ki'Diera and lay down to sleep next to her, to wait for Cindy and Julie to wake up, Ki'Diera cuddles right away to me as she smells my scent her tail begins to sway as she lays on her side hugging me.
