Chapter 53

I spent the rest of the evening making more paper clips. I could create one per 10 seconds, meaning 6 in a minute, with my mana regen at 22/sec I was not losing mana. If I start making bullets at 300 mana, I will begin to lose mana sigh, tho it is not much of a loss.

I kept at it and reached skill level 4 and then eventually 5. From 3 to 4 I had to make 60 paper clips, but from 4 to 5 the same paper clips were yielding less skill xp, and almost tripled in number for the same skill xp amount.

So the higher the skill the less skill xp is awarded due the complexity of the item maybe or is it because I know the item already?

So I switch to a bullet and begin to copy it. The bullet took 15 seconds to make and cost 291 mana as I now had a 3% cost reduction in using the skill. However the xp went back up. With that slight deduction my mana consumption stayed even with my regen when compared over a minute.

Paper clips gave me 2 skill xp and bullets gave me 11 skill xp. I also noticed that the paper clip came faster now, down to 7 seconds so I can now make 9 per minute, while bullets I can make 5 per minute, Bullets won in the end and I switched as the xp was better. I needed 41 bullets to skill level 6 and will take just over 10 min to make. Not bad to be honest. I can do this. As I am going along I feel a mental strain on me, not much but noticeable.

As I get to bullet 41, I feel tired. I look at my status but notice nothing out of the ordinary, stamina, health and mana all look good. I look over my Status some more and finally see it. My Willpower was taking negative effects. It has been reduced by by almost half from making all those paper clips and bullets and had a temp negative effect on it.

I sat back and rested my eyes a bit. After about 15 min of resting I look at my status again and see the negative effect was going down slowly. I even felt a bit better too. So mental exhaustion is caused as well?

I waited another 15 min, Julie had fallen asleep next to me reading a book. I went and got her a blanket and covered her, which she snuggled into happily. I check my status and see the negative effects are half gone now. 30 min of rest to clear up half of the negative effects. So a full hour to fully restore myself.

With this in mind I begin on the bullets again, as I gain skill levels, the effects are reduced each level as is the mana consumption but the xp gains are reduced as well. It seems the more familiar I become with an item, the easier it is to make, less strain I feel, but the gains go down as well.

It was now after 10:30pm, Cindy and Ki'Diera entered the room and see Julie asleep on the couch, me making more bullets. Ki'Diera's eyes light up when she sees me and tries to make her way to me, but Cindy holds her back. I had a decent pile in front of me now, all for my AR-15. Tomorrow I will test the bullets and see their effectiveness, if there is anything different about them. I had pushed myself to the limit on mental exhaustion this time, leaving me with just 9 Willpower left. I felt a headache coming on now and decided do stop here.

I made a total of 176 bullets, taking a little over 3 hours to make them all. I could go 15 min with 45 min to 1 hour rest in between. It was tedious and boring.

“You look tired Scott, you should quit for the night.” Cindy says with concern on her face.

“Yeah this is a good stopping point, I was able to raise the skill to 8, I will need to find something a little more complex tomorrow to copy.” I say to her, feeling tired, no, I am beyond exhausted.

“Then come to bed my warrior, and let me soothe you.” Ki'Diera offers with a seductive smile.

“I am really tired princess, so I am going to get some sleep ok?” I reply to her really not in the mood right now, my entire being felt drained.

With a pout then a sigh, she undresses and jumps into bed , her smile returns as she looks at me and pats the bed with her hand.

I grabbed Julie and lay her in the bed carefully not to wake her and covered her, I then removed my preset, but left my undergarments on, as Ki'Diera is still in heat, then get into bed too. Ki'Diera snuggled up to my right away, sniffing me and gives a content sigh. Cindy turns off the lights and joins us. I fall to sleep almost right away.

In a dream like state I awoke feeling a tug on me. I look and see Ki'Diera trying to remove my underwear. “Princess what are you doing “I whisper to her sleepily.

“I need to mate, it is burning in me my warrior.” She says with heavy breath, full of lust.

“Not tonight princess, I am really tired” I whisper to her sleepily.

“Then this might change your mind” she says as she bends over me, her tail swaying slowly in the air, and takes my manhood in her mouth and begins to please me.

I hurry to check her over, ripping my helmet off of me. Her eyes are open, staring into nothing, the life gone from them, she is not breathing. “DOOOOCCCCC! Hurry and get Doc, please god, HURRY AND GET DOC SNOW!!!!!” I realize I killed her and all my emotions are now coming out like a storm.

I gather Ki'Diera into my arms with gentle care and hold her close to me cradling her head and begin crying,” I am so sorry princess, I am so very sorry, please be ok please ok, DOOOOOCCC HURRRRYYYYY! “

Julie and Cindy both stand stunned and in shock, Julie begins to cry.

After what seemed like an eternity Doc Snow comes running into the room and sees me rocking Ki'Diera. “Scott? What happened?”

“I ...I killed her Doc....I killed her,” I cry out quietly to him.

Doc gently removes her body from me which I reluctantly let go, places her on the floor, laying her on her back, using his stethoscope he tries to listen for her heartbeat. Then he removes them and looks to me.

“Are you ready for this Scott?” He says looking at me with determined eyes.

I nod like a little kid, tears flowing down my cheeks.

Doc places his hands, one on Ki'Diera and one on me. And just like before the glow starts from Ki'Diera and rushes towards me using the Doc as a medium. As all three of us being to glow, a message pops up.

Both Julie and I cry out at the same time as the pain hits us, our souls are being torn out of us. My health, as is hers is draining quickly. We are both convulsing as the glow around us brightens.

I wake up and hear low murmur of voices around me. I see Doc Snow, Doc Mathews, Cindy, Rick, Alexander, Bre'Tirgan and Eddie all standing in a circle, talking in low voices. We are in the infirmary.

I look around and see Julie and Ki'Diera in beds across from me sleeping. My head is throbbing

“Doc!” I sit up and call to Doc Snow.

All turn and rush to me.

“How are you feeling Scott?“ Doc Snow asks, concern in his voice.

“what about Ki'Diera is she ok? Is Julie ok?”, I ask in a panic, my head is hurting worse now.

"They are both doing well, Julie awoke a little while ago, but is now sleeping again” Doc says with a comforting smile” As for Ki'Diera, well she is alive, but she has not awakened yet.”

My panic begins to subside and I relax in the bed.

Then I see Bre'Tirgan “ I am so sorry this happened, I..I tried to stop her from mating, and....” I trail off from there.

He only looks at me with a pained expression. I can not use my mind reading on him, my crown is not on my head. I do not want to know what he is thinking right now, If anything, I would probably give him a sword myself to kill me for what I did to his Daughter and he would be justified in doing so.

He turns and leaves the room. Rick and Eddie both stare at me with questioning eyes and concern.

“It was an accident.......I did not mean to.....I only wanted her to stop before we made a mistake..arrrrrg!!!” The pain is now shooting in my head far worse then last time.

Julie cries out in pain as well. Ki'Diera joins in with her cries of pain.

Everyone looks at one another and begins to leave.
