Chapter 51 Dreams and Purrs

I awoke to a soft kiss. I open my eyes and it is Ki'Diera. I am fully surprised,” Good Morning Scott” she purrs.

“Um good morning Princess” I say to her.

“Did Scott sleep well?” she asks. She is stradling me and rubbing her breasts against my chest and a soft purring sensation can be felt coming from her body.

“I did princess, are you ok?” I ask in confusion, am I having another dream??

No Scott you are not having a dream, she is in heat

Cindy rolls over with a smirk on her face and kisses me on the cheek.

You know, she is just like a cat in many ways, Cindy thinks while observing Ki'Diera purring softly rubbing against me, she grabs KI'Diera's tail and begins to stroke it causing Ki'Diera to moan softly.

You are not helping matters honey I sing in my head to Cindy.

Hmmm? What is going on? Julie wakes up, rubbing her eyes.

Fufufufu Ki'Diera is in heat

No Way!!! She is really in heat?

Umm can I get some help here she is slowly moving downwards.

Well you are going to mate eventually right Cindy giggles in my head.

"Yeah but not right now, KiDiera princess you need put on some clothes please,", I say pulling her to the side and I get up “equip preset 1” getting fully clothed I jump out of bed that was close, had I not woken up who knows where that would have gone, in my sleep, I would have thought it was one of you two.

I head for the couch area and sit, trying to put the Ki'Diera's problem aside for now and focus on the dream. Images jump out at me.

"What was that Scott?", Julie asks out loud coming over to me

"Hmm? Oh that, I had a disturbing dream last night and I am trying to recall it.", I say to her in thought, as more images start to come back to me.

“That is some vivid dream Scott and how can you recall so much detail” Cindy asks, also approaching now. They sit opposite of me in the two chairs. I then tell them the full dream, from start to finish , as I tell it images resurface and are shared with both of them. I still had the mind link active after last night not turning off when I went to bed.

Ki'Diera finally gets dressed and joins us, flopping her self on my lap and snuggling up, purring lightly. Then falling almost instantly asleep again. Amazed, I just stroke her hair. Her attitude is completely different.

“Well back to the dream, as you said some details were very vivid and maybe too detailed, I think.”, I say to Julie and Cindy “ I think it may not have been a dream at all, and the voice at the end, it was like someone was talking to me the way you two do in my head.”

“Can you recall that?” Julie asks.

“No, I tried but nothing comes up, all I remember is something about nothing is at it seems, not everything is a lie or truth and something about I have to decide” I finally say trying to recall the words.

“That is strange” Cindy says in thought.

Then the images of them giving birth enter my mind, and a joy takes me over again

“Aww She is so Cute, that was our daughter?”, Julie begins

“A son? Wow these images really are vivid”, Cindy says.

Then the part begins where Cindy is angry in my dream begins and demands a divorce, then she incinerates me.

“That....that can not be happening, I would never......” Cindy says now in confusion, her face is pale and has a shocked expression on it.” Scott that is not real, I would never.......”

“I know honey, but there it is.” I say to her understanding her feelings.

“I want a divorce? Why would you dream something like that Scott?” Julie says, she is now disturbed by the images.

“I do not know Kitten, the entire dream makes almost no sense to me, if it even was a dream. “ I say to her softly.

Recovering, Cindy is in thought, "So not all is true and not all is a lie, we can say with certainty me killing you was a lie.” she says with confidence.

“Yeah I am thinking that too, but maybe something does happen to you three after the children are born?” I say trying to put the pieces together.

“I agree, we should think of that as a lie, there is nothing in there that indicates why I would stop loving you Sweetheart.” Julie says.

“Also there is the part about one of the girls giving birth in 7 months, are any of them even two months pregnant? I thought all were further along?” Cindy asks, “ a Lie?”

"Maybe, but we should ask that the ladies be retrained during child bearing, probably to be on the safe side, it does make sense that they might react that way after going thru what they have been thru. A precaution maybe is in order.” I say to them both.

“King Scott huh? So you and Ki'Diera is most likely truth, then our safe zone expands 50km that is a lot of area” Julie says her expression is happy with that part of the dream.

“Yeah 50km is a lot, but it also says we wiped out the Were-beasts, Scott we now know they are victims converted to beasts, is here no way to undo it?” Cindy now asks.

“I do not see a way to be honest, short of letting them build that thing, we take it over, then spend decades researching it to reverse it, in the meantime we got millions of those things on our doorstep....sadly I see no other option right now” I say with a grim expression.” In the end it will come to them or us, and we will have to choose.”

“It also said Rick dies on 7 or 8 months in a freak accident.” Julie says with a sad look.

"That I want to really, really avoid if that is the case, that could be truth, accidents in the field do happen and one like that could happen, so probably truth, the question is how to avoid it.”, I say with a determined look.

“Lets go over all of it in order” Cindy says, "King Scott, Ki'Diera wedding, and Fortress with 50 km radius safe zone?”

“Truth”, we all say together

"Doc Snow getting killed" Cindy says

"Lie" Cindy and Julie both say

"truth.....there might be more in the Mall, we have not check the basement." I say reluctantly

"The mall has a basement?"Julie gasps

“We did not kill any Boss now that I think about it, every one of the creatures had a boss with them at one point or another.” I say knowing what is implicated.

Both girls faces go pale as they realize what I was getting at,” you think they are more females in the mall?” Julie asks slowly feeling sick.

“We were in such a rush, to help those girls, and did not even think to look for a basement. I do not know if there is one, but that is the only way I can think of if the Doc Snow scenario is true, then it makes sense. I will send a team to go check it out right away just to make sure..” I say to them and they nod.

“Ok then Rick getting killed in a freak accident of friendly fire” Cindy says

Truth we all agree

"How do we stop that?" Cindy asks.

“Short of prohibiting him from going on patrols, I do not know right now.” I say to them.

"Does he even have to go on patrols? You did make him General of the Army, he should be busy enough as it is” Cindy asks.

"Hmm maybe you are right, maybe throw more duties at him, to oversee here...” I say in thought”, but he will still go on the occasional patrol, maybe by throwing more duties and he not going on patrols regularly, causes it to happen?”

“Damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario” Cindy says with a grim expression.

“Yeah there is no wrong or right here” I say to her, Julie nods in agreement.

Ki'Diera stirs slightly while I am stroking her hair, occasionally scratching behind her ears., she snuggles in again with a content smile, sleeping.

"So last item, us going crazy after birth" Cindy says at last.

"Lie most definitely" Cindy says

"Yes Lie, I love Scott I know this in my heart." Julie says with confidence.

"Truth?" I say slowly and both look at me with disbelieving looks.

"Scott how can you say that?" Cindy asks disbelieving

"Scott there is no way....", Julie begins to say

"Look at the evidence. Barring the Doc Snow incident, all others are truth right? And If we do find a basement, that becomes true too, right? So that leaves this one as the only lie?" I state to them.

“Ok lets think logically then, why would that happen so suddenly?" Cindy speaks up.

“Lets go back one step, WHY do you love me Cindy?” I ask “It was an overnight thing, we met and you fall in love, I wondered that myself at first, but things just kept going crazy and I was drawn to you myself. But now that I think about it......you never loved anyone before right? In all your years, not a single man ever,” I finally say.

Cindy is in deep thought,

I love Scott with my entire being, but when did it begin? I never felt this way before with anyone, even tried to love before, But being with Scott, it feels right, good, my heart begins to skip a beat with him around. My pulse races.....but it all happened so suddenly...

Her thoughts continue as she keeps thinking over and over on it.

"And you Julie, for two years, we ran together never really growing closer and then suddenly out of the blue you invite me to a date, even willing were going to present yourself to me in that black lingerie at the mall before the Goblins showed up. I keep asking myself why the sudden intimacy from you....that was not like you at all.", I say in one breath.

Julie sits there stunned, tears forming in her eyes looking at me.then slowly speaks, “for two years I tried to get you to go out with me Scott, two whole fucking years, and you were so dense, you could not even take a hint. Suddenly, you ask? It may seem sudden to you, but I planned and planned for two years on how to hook you, you bastard! It took all my courage to do that on that day! If you had not been so god damned dense you would not think that Scott! Don't you ever question my love for you, you got that?” Julie gets up and storms out of the room slamming the door behind her.

“Oh wow, that one hurt.” Cindy says “ you know Scott, I know this dream bothers you, but you just hurt Julie and me. Maybe all of it is true except the last part?”

I know dammit, I know, it could be that way, I am just trying to make sense of it all, and I am truly sorry, I honestly love both of you with everything I have, I would not be going thru this if that was not the case.

Then we all agree that we love each other and there is nothing more to it then?

I am still mad at you Scott......

I know kitten, please forgive me, I am only putting all the what ifs into place and trying to eliminate them. I am truly truly sorry for having upset you. I really do love you and was scared that I might lose you.

With that we decide to head for breakfast, and wake Ki'Diera up.

Ki'Diera now has a sad look on her face and sighs. Everyone is dressed and we head for the Cafeteria, Julie joining us again. Many people were in groups talking excitedly about professions in the Cafeteria. Yesterday we spent from noon till late at night talking about the profession system, even had demonstrations to help visualize things, like Julie's mana shield, Cindy's fire, some of the warriors showed how to mana enhance their bodies and their weapons.

Some demonstrations had to be repeated a few times. In the end a few had made a decision and came up with a profession that they wanted . Larry Benally realized his dream and became a farmer in his profession, at first I was puzzled as he was a farmer in reality, but then he demonstrated his ability on a flower pot. His hand glowed slightly and a plant began to sprout from it at accelerated growth. We all smiled and he was over joyed.

Others came forth and also demonstrated their new abilities, the two nurses had light healing abilities for cuts and bruises, but the male nurse Edward Bowden, short 5'8” fair complexion, a rounded face, short cropped dark hair brown in color, blue eyes, smiled as he put the female nurse to sleep with his ability. She of course volunteered for the demonstration. That is a nifty ability

Yes it is Cindy adds in amazement. I left the link on, figuring I needed to atone for my earlier accusations so left the girls access to my mind for now. I did not want Julie to think I had drawn away from them as that was not the case, and it felt good right now, having them in my head, reassuring somehow.

Yes but it can also be abused, lets hope that is not the case.

I had read Edwards mind but it did not seem he had any ill intent with that ability, but there was also the case he was gay. So the females were safe, and that was my main concern here. Lately there had been some unrest, some of the males were becoming more aggressive with the female population, but the guards always stepped in and the matter was solved. I will have Rick address the issue and Alexander to have the guards be more vigilant, and follow up.

We sat at the table, Rick and Bre'Tirgan as well as Doc Snow and the two other Doctors were already sitting and enjoying their breakfast. As we sat down, Julie on my right, Cindy on my left, Ki'Diera plops herself on my lap and begins to purr again in content.

“Oh damn, I completely forgot” Bre'Tirgan says taking notice.

“Is this common?” I ask of him “Since this morning she has been acting strange”

"Well it is common of out females Scott, once a year they go into their mating cycle. Ki'Diera's started on her 16th cycle. We usually have to lock her up for the week to protect her virtue.” Bre'Tirgan comments eyeing Ki'Diera on my lap.

“Lock her up?” Julie and Cindy both ask at the same time.

“Aye, the mating cycle is very strong in our females. They seek out the strongest warriors and attempt to mate with them. Normally a female will already have chosen their mate by then and it is not an issue, but because of our war with the Were-beasts, things have not been normal.” He says with a saddened look.

"So what happens if she does mate before picking a mate? I ask.

“Then that IS her mate Scott, for life.” He says, then continues with a sigh, “ our females, when they receive the seed of a mate during the females first time, their bodies adapt biologically to their mates, meaning even if they were to mate with someone else they can never conceive with anyone other than with the chosen mate. That is why it is important for them to remain pure till a mate is properly chosen and why they remain as one, for life.”

All of us are struck by this new information and things start to now make sense on why they choose partners for life.

“So how long is this going to last?” I ask

“Seven days Scott, I am sorry but you must make sure you do not mate with her, should you change your mind about the betrothal, once mated you ARE betrothed for life, there is no going back. The betrothal ceremony is just that, a ceremony, The actual act of the mating ritual is where the real betrothal takes place, as the seed enters the female body and she then adapts to her mate.”

Rick begins to laugh," Ahh, Scott such sacrifices!" I give him an annoyed look.

“So we have 4 days left before the betrothal ceremony then” I say to Bre'Tirgan and he nods. I am stroking Ki'Dieras hair again while she sleeps content once more.

“She sure sleeps a lot now too” I remark.

"Yes the females sleep in order to store up energy for the mating, once awake it will be hard to resist her, but you must, unless you are willing to take responsibility and proceed with the mating ritual." He says, but his face is showing a glint of amusement now.

Cindy and Julie are both thinking various thoughts in my head

We must prevent that from happening until it is decided if Scott will marry or not.

Agreed we will have to be vigilant

I think I can just get another room for now till we decide.

There are no more room sweetheart.

And why should you leave we can just send her back to her father for now

"So, can we give Ki'Diera back into your care till the betrothal ceremony? I ask

“I am afraid that is not possible Scott, the remaining four days must proceed as planned, it is a matter of duty now and a part of our agreement, tho it may be an inconvenience to you, you must still remain together till the betrothal.” He says.

I sigh, I guess I will be sleeping with clothes on from now on. Good bye good nights sleep.

Both girls giggle

More and more people are now making breakthroughs on the profession system and we even see someone create water and splash it on another by accident..

“Those weapons you showed us yesterday were truly impressive, but you think it will break their barrier?” Bre'Tirgan asks concerned

"Yeah and they will definitely help in our defenses" Rick adds

“They will not have to, there will be no barrier when we attack,” I smile at Bre'Tirgan. “it is one of my specialties to get in and blow things up and now that I have some more soldiers with me, our odds of success just went up”

At that point a tired and yawning Eddie arrives and sees Ki'Diera,”Gunny, do you really have to flaunt that so early in the morning?”, He asks complaining.

We all spoke some more going over the weapons that were of interest to Bre'Tirgan and Rick. Alexander now joins us as well.

"Rick can you send a patrol out to the mall and check to see if it has a basement?" I ask him then.

"A basement? You do not think there are more Scott?" he face suddenly goes pale like the girls earlier.

"I want to be sure," I say to him, and Rick gets up and heads out right away not hesitating.

"I want everyone practicing their professions, anyone who has not decided needs to give it more thought today and get it done, I am going to go practice myself some." I say getting up waking Ki'Diera.

Julie, Cindy, I am going to practice my Reality Manipulation, I think that is part of the key to the dream. Please make sure i am not disturbed please.

Alright Tiger, we will keep Ki'Diera busy then

I head back to my room after taking my leave of everyone, Alexander had no new news to report, The keep was now the main focus of the upgrades and the civilians who realized Builder as their new profession, cut the upgrade time by another day, so now we are 19 days to completion of our first level upgrade.

In the room, I begin to copy paper clips, over and over using 8 mana, my skill started to show improvement at first, but I got no new notices....

hmm what is going on it feels like it is easier. I had turned the link between Cindy and Julie off once I got to my room.
