Writer’s corner: Greetings friends! And here we have the results of something really silly happening!

SO, I’m a sore loser, and when I noticed that almost everyone got it right what the trio actually were… I decided to go heck it and change them. WHAT? MY STORIES MY RULES! IF I SAY BE SURPRISED, YOU GET SURPRISED!

BESIDES, I had a couple of important tests this week, so my release schedule got a bit messed up. Sorry for that. It should start stabilizing after next week or something.

Beep, and enjoy your story!

Although suspicious of their origins, Ruby couldn’t help but follow them, seeing how the ceiling was starting to crack slightly as the pillar slowly broke under its weight. Also, she had no way of carrying Gaz back with her on her own, so at the very least she would need the announcers to carry him for her.

Luckily, Hugger was at a much better state, seeing how most of the explosion happened on the upper part of the bull. Although one of his legs was slightly bent out of place, he didn’t seem all that bothered with it as he ran right after them.

Grimacing while noticing how she was at the mercy of these three unknown variables, she couldn’t help but feel wary towards her situation.

“So, Who are you?” Ruby asked while somehow running behind the group, the head-bodyguard stopped for a moment and turned to her, and mysterious smile appearing in his face for a moment.

“Let’s just say that I’m not your enemy.” He said briefly.

“I think you forgot the ‘for now’, boss!” The girl said cheerfully.

“You fool, don’t you see that he wanted to lower her guard?” The male announcer said angrily.

“Oh! Yeah… I forgot...”

“Hopefully the girl didn’t hear us.”

“Hey, cute morfian! Did you hear what i saiEEEK! SCARY!” The female announcer jerked in shock once Ruby turned to her in full professor mode.

Turning back to the man in front carrying a rifle, she saw as he hung his head low in shame while murmuring something about having idiotic subordinates. Although she felt a bit of pity towards the man, she didn’t let down her guard, noticing how the man’s gaze suddenly sharpened greatly.

“Look. We have the same goal, so it should be enough for now, right?”

“So, you saved me just for that?” Ruby asked back in a cold tone, making the man surprised for a moment, the cold expression dropping down from his face at her unexpected comeback.

“Huuh… Well...” He said while looking away and choosing his words.

“Initially I thought that you could be governmental agents, but it doesn’t seems to be the case seeing how you are acting right now.” She said with a stare, and the man flinched for a moment. “So I don’t really see a reason for you to save me right now...” As she stared at the man, she noticed how he tightened his grip on the rifle warily. Deciding that her safety was more important than her curiosity she sighed loudly. “Okay, I won’t ask anymore.” The man visibly relaxed at her words, but still kept his guard up. “But I still don’t think you would save me for no reason and then threaten to kill me for something like that...” She said with a sigh.

“...Fair enough.” The man said with a sigh. If this made the girl drop her suspicion, it was worth it. “Right now you are the perfect witness. That’s all.” He said briefly.

“Witness…?” Ruby asked suspicious, but just as the man was about to explain, she widened her eyes and nodded. “I see… I was attacked directly by the bull and hunted down by the soldiers while only being a minor. This makes me one of the most valuable witness of this scene. And since you seem to be working against this group, I guess you would only profit if I were to live...”

“...Boss! that girl is scary...” The female announcer said with a fearful voice.

“Note to self. Never get into her wrong side.” The other announcer said worriedly.

“Girl… What the hell are you...” The soldier asked.

“Just a researcher.” She replied coldly, and the man nodded weakly.

Turning their attention back towards their escape, Jay, the bodyguard, frowned at the girls answer. For a moment the thought of simply leaving her there passed on his mind, but he decided against it in the end, seeing that if she was as smart as she made herself, she would easily be the best of the witnesses to bring down this gang.

However, as they ran forward, he suddenly heard a strange beeping sound, and turning back towards the source, he saw the robot his subordinates were carrying looking away from them. The girl flinched surprised for a moment before turning to him.

“Someone coming! That way!” The girl said pointing towards the direction the robot was looking.

Although doubting the girl’s word for a moment, his trained senses made him react nonetheless as he turned towards the direction while pointing with the rifle. Soon enough, just as the girl said, three of his former subordinates appeared from a corridor leading towards them. Barely had they caught sight of him and there was already a bullet in the middle of their foreheads.

One of the elves managed to react quickly, using his esp to make some kind of ice helmet, but it didn’t protect him from the rest of the salvo that pierced through his chest and legs, the lack of concentration dropping his focus and making the helmet disappear, where he was finalized with a single bullet for safety.

“No mercy, huh?” The girl asked in an indifferent tone, making a chill run down the man’s spine as he reloaded the spent rifle.

“Yeah. Nice guys, sadly on the wrong side.” Jay replied coldly before darting away again. “Except the elf. He was an annoying prick and killing him felt good.”

“Eh? Then boss didn’t want to kill him quickly? Is that why it took you so long?” The female announcer asked.

“Of course! Boss could easily put a bullet in the eye-sockets of the guy!” The male announcer said.

“Oh! That’s right!”

“I feel sorry for you...” Ruby said briefly towards the black suited lynninan.

“...Thank you.” He replied weakly with a sigh, feeling a bit disheartened that he was being cheered on by such a young girl. “They can be quite good when they are doing their job, though.”

“BOSS IS DEFENDING US!” The girl said cheerfully.

“... Sorry, can’t see that happening.” Ruby said shaking her head.

“Wow, this girl is cold!”

“I have a hard time myself...” Jay sighed loudly, and the two announcers became shocked at his revelation, shouting in surprise and indignation. “Anyway, from what I’m getting from the comms, it seems your friends are just up ahead.” He said just as the sound of gunfights started to reach their ears.

Nodding satisfied, Ruby saw as they reached the back of an enemy troop who was hiding from Sorius’ and Yllivia’s line of sight. Seeing the head bodyguard with them, the guards quickly lowered their guard and showed smug smiles to each other.

“Brutus is rampaging near the Section two.” He said while pointing back to where they came from. The soldiers widened their eyes in surprise before he went on. “Go there and check it out. I’ll stay here and deal with them.”

Upon his words the guards nodded and ran away, leaving only him and his group behind. It didn’t need to be a genius to notice that Sorius’ group became confused and worried. Taking a step out of the cover, Jay put his hands up as he pushed Ruby ahead.

For a moment there was some silence on the corridor before a pair of white furry ears popped up from behind a large metal box. Peeking from the corner of the box, Yllivia scanned the area in a fraction of a second, and widening her eyes in surprise.

“Ruby.” She said briefly before landing her eyes on Beepy half-destroyed body.

Jay was quite confident on his own skills when it came to martial arts, and most of the fools who challenged him would end up defeated in the ground within a couple of seconds.

However, even he was unable to react to what happened as the white haired girl jumped from behind the box and darted towards him. Before he even had the chance to widen his eyes, he was already cornered against the wall, the rifle he had in his hand flung somewhere over and a gun barrel pressing beneath his mouth.

“What happened to Beepy and Ruby?” The girl said in a chilling tone.

It took both him and his two foolish followers a couple of seconds to understand what was happening, and even then, their minds refused to recognize what had occurred. In the brief period of time, she had managed to knock away his gun, overpower him and press him against the wall.

As he stared at the girl in shock for a few seconds, trying to find a way to escape, help came from the little red girl who put her hand on the lynnian’s arm.

“Yllivia, it’s fine. He helped us.” Ruby said briefly.

closed her eyes slightly, looking at the morfian and then towards Jay in an inquisitive manner. Out of fear for his own life, he nodded before he even had the chance to think it through.

Luckily, that seemed to be the correct answer, as she let go of his neck and lowered her gun before turning to the announcers and taking Beepy into her own arms.

“Beep?” She asked worried.

“Beeeep!” Beepy replied in a tone mixed with pain and cheerfulness.

The white haired Lynnian seemed satisfied with his response, as clear relief spread on her face, but immediately after she turned towards the Hugger, who had been standing far away. The little robot looked at her for a moment before taking a step away. Sighing, she walked back towards the place where the others were, taking Ruby with her.

“What the hell...” Jay said in worry while rubbing his neck. For a moment there, the girl was completely different from the one he had seen in the arena earlier. “Just what the hell was that?”

“You have no idea how lucky you just were.” He heard their group’s elf saying in a serious tone.

“I… Kind of noticed that.” He replied with a weak voice while turning to the elf.

“I have a lot of questions I want to make right now, but it doesn’t seem like you will willingly answer them.” Sorius said before turning towards the group. “And you did save her, so I can’t simply go and give you to my sister for questioning.” Turning back towards Jay, he said. “I can trust that you won’t backstab us right now?”

“... Nah.” Jay denied before with a hoarse voice. “Just tell the girl we are even after that...” Sorius widened his eyes in suspicion, but nodded in the end. He turned back towards the group and made a motion with his head.

“Let’s get going. Lunn should already be underway.” As he said that, the others agreed with a nod as they started moving away, the lynnian and the elf leading the charge as they made their way towards the exit.

Watching as the group made their way out, Jay turned to his own subordinates and made a motion for them to get going. Making their way to their own escape point they had set up earlier, he was glad that they were avoiding having to deal with the lynnian any longer.

“But… White hair… Unmatchable speed… It couldn’t be, could it?” He asked dubious to himself.

“What is it, boss?” His subordinate asked in her usual cheerful tone.

“Nothing. Just reminding myself of a rumor.” He said with a shake of his head. “By the way, good job on your job, you really got a good group to come here.”

“We are quite proud of ourselves with that job!” The male lynnian said while nodding proudly.

“I don’t think they even noticed it.” The girl said with a giggle.

“I was quite confident in my disguise at the merc’s building, you know?” The male announcer said with a laugh

“If only you guys were as responsible overall besides when you are on your disguises...” Jay said with a sigh while shaking his head, hoping that one day these two fools would become able to be serious for once. “At least we managed to get this done before chief got angry.” He said with a relieved tone.

“Eeep! I don’t want to see the chief angry!”

“…I got goosebumps. He was really angry last time we reported…”

“Yeah, the scarlet bastards were starting to get into our feet with their new pills. This should set them back for some time.” Jay said with a sigh. “Maybe we can regain some of our territory with this…”

As they kept on their usual bickering, the trio left to never again be seen on the base again.
