(Telekinesis girl’s POV)
Just what the hell is going on? Just a few hours ago all of us were sitting around having a discussion. It was carnage outside with all the animals going crazy, but the hotel had somehow managed to stay safe due to the security guards and the heavy entrance doors blocking the entry from animals.
My family had gone out to have fun with their abilities before the day of the animal attacks and I hadn’t seen them since, I know it was wishful thinking but I still had hope that by some miracle they had managed to survive. However, I think that notion has been shattered today...
33 of us had gathered to meet in the ballroom on the 6th floor of the hotel, so that we could discuss on what to do about our families. All 33 of us had families outside of the hotel, and we were thinking about going outside to look for them. The meeting had gone on for hours without any sort of a decision being made. Personality clashes and differing opinions made it almost impossible for an agreement to be made, and before we knew it, it was well past midnight. The little kids falling asleep suddenly finally made the group decide to postpone the discussion for now and go to sleep.
Even though it was decided that we would have another discussion tomorrow, I knew that it would end up the same way with no decision being made. I had decided to go out and look for my family myself. The longer they stayed out there the lesser their chances of survival, and I had my ability to help me survive longer then most so I had some hope of finding them.
We were all getting ready to leave and head on to our rooms when all of a sudden all the lights went out! I thought it was simply a power shortage, but soon we started hearing snarling and growling coming from all around us! An animal attack!
Luckily, one of the guys had an ability that could conjure up some kind of light balls to light up the room, and he made quite a few balls of light float up high and illuminated the room. The snarling and growling were being made not by animals, but by monsters!
I had never seen anything like them in real life, only in movies. They reminded me of shrek, but unlike shrek they were anything but cute and cuddly. They were well over 8 feet tall, had dark green skin, large fangs and claws and were hideous to look at. I don’t know what to call them… Trolls? Orcs? Ogres? … I think I’ll just stick with monsters...
The monsters started attacking us right away! They started surrounding us and making us back away into a corner! Not all of us had fighting abilities, but those who did started using them to their utmost, including me.
I was frightened out of my mind, but no way was I going to let these ugly beasts take my life without giving a fight! So, I fought. I fought with everything I had! But, it wasn’t enough… We kept on being forced to back away further and further into a corner, and soon the whole ballroom was filled with monsters completely surrounding us!

We had managed to kill a few, but for each one we killed ten more came forward! It was getting completely out of hand, and I knew our chances of getting out of this were next to nothing, but I won’t give up! I am not one to just roll over and die! I will take out as many of these monsters as possible and take them with me as I fall!
I started getting more ferocious, but still it was to no avail. We were going to die here… It was only a matter of time.
Suddenly, one of the monsters flew out from the back and landed right in front of us! To make matters even stranger, the monster was missing his head! Everyone stopped, monsters and humans included, and looked at the direction from where the monster had come from. What we saw was unbelievable!
Someone, or rather something, was killing off the monsters at an incredible pace! I couldn’t see what the thing was, either it was moving too fast or it was invisible, but whatever the case may be I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t see the thing. The monsters were growling and snarling loudly as they saw their kin fall, but they just couldn’t see what it was that was doing all the killing!
The monsters started swiping and clawing at mid-air, trying to hurt whatever the thing was, but it was to no avail. I stood there like a dumb little girl as I saw the thing slaughter the monsters like a hurricane of death! Monsters were flying everywhere, blood was spurting from countless monsters, but still the thing didn’t stop! It continued on mercilessly slaughtering whatever it could touch!
As the number of monsters started dwindling, I felt a shiver run down my spine. Whatever the thing was it was strong enough to kill off all these monsters single-handedly, so what was stopping it from targeting us next? I couldn’t see whatever the thing was, for all I know it could be a bunch of invisible monsters that just liked bloodshed, but for some reason I got the feeling that it was just a single being that was killing off all the monsters.
I alerted the others to stay on their guard and kept a watchful eye myself. Soon enough the last monster fell down into the floor covered with monster corpses and the ballroom filled with silence. For a whole minute, no sound could be heard. I could actually hear the suffocating silence all around me, and I felt fear like I had never felt before!
All of a sudden, right in front of me another monster appeared! The thing was about 10 meters ahead of me, but I could see it clearly. It was covered in blood, to the point that blood was flowing down his clothes and falling to the ground in little streams! It looked about 6 feet high, and looked basically like a human if not for all the blood. What was this thing! It’s back was turned towards me so I couldn’t see it’s face. What is it? A demon? A vampire?
And then it spoke, but the words were nothing like what I had expected! “Ew! Yuck! All this fucking blood! Damn! I need a bath!”
My mind went blank. What did the monster just say…?
It then turned around and I froze as I saw the red face! Or rather, the face was so completely covered in blood that it looked completely red! It then spoke again! “Are you guys okay? I came as soon as I heard all the commotion, I hope I wasn’t too late to save all of you.”

What…? This thing came to save us? Is this a sick kind of game that it likes to play with its victims to first save them then kill them off himself? Fucker!
“Dammit! Hold on a minute, I need to wash all this disgusting blood off me!” it said. Then it suddenly conjured up a whole lot of water from thin air and started splashing itself! I felt a bit weak, this thing could turn invisible, was unbelievably fast and strong and on top of all that it could use magic too!
I suddenly remembered all the tales about vampires. They liked blood, could turn invisible, were strong and could use magic too! It fits!
The vampire was still busy washing himself, so I picked up a broken leg of a chair with my mind and sent it straight into the vampire’s heart! I watched excitedly as it flew closer to the vampire’s heart, and it struck! Excellent! A wooden stake through the heart always kills vampires! But my excitement was short lived, as the stake cleanly hit his heart, and then shattered without making even a scratch on his body! To make matters worse, he hadn’t even noticed! He was still busy washing himself!
Just how strong was this thing!
He had now finished washing himself, and shook his head like a dog then looked straight at me! He had dark brown hair, dark-brown or black eyes I couldn’t tell, a tanned skin and an unkempt beard on his face. He smiled, and there were no fangs! No matter how I looked at him, he seemed like a normal guy… No! I shook my head to clear my thoughts. This was clearly a trick to let down our guards!
He then started walking towards us, and I panicked and immediately said, “Stay away from us vampire!”
He stopped and looked puzzled. “Vampire…?” He asked, uncertainly.
“Yes, you are a vampire, clearly!” I said firmly. He should know that I am not falling for his petty tricks!
“Are you crazy? Why do you think I am a vampire?” He asked.
I immediately responded, “One, you like bloodshed, clearly! Two, you can turn invisible, are really fast and strong and can even use magic! Which means you are clearly not human as all humans only have one ability!” I looked around at the others beside me and could see that most of them agreed with me, though some did look doubtful.
The vampire didn’t respond for a minute, but then started laughing! He then said, “Listen, the bloodshed I did was to save your asses. There was no time for me to calmly and politely kill each ogre out here as if I took my time you all would be dead. Also, I have a unique ability that allows me to use a number of different abilities, believe it or not. And if I really were a vampire, would I have washed away the blood? Won’t I have swallowed it instead? Vampires are famous for drinking blood aren’t they?”
…..
…..
Well, good points. But for all I know he just did all that to trick us! Mirroring my thoughts, one of the guys beside me spoke up, “That could all be a trick to kill us off when we least expect it!” I nodded. Yup, that’s right!
The vampire sighed, then said “I killed off all these ogres that you guys had no chance against alone. If I wanted to kill you I could kill you anytime I want. I am much stronger then all of you combined as the proof shows.” He then gestured with his hand to the huge pile of monster bodies behind him. “I really don’t know what’s up with you guys being suspicious of me after I clearly saved you, but I guess it’s understandable with all the shit that’s going around right now. I honestly don’t care whether you guys believe me or not, as I am perfectly capable of surviving on my own. However, do let me heal your injuries before I leave, so that you guys may have a better chance at surviving.” He finished it up with a gentle smile on his face.
He was speaking calmly, and he did make a lot of sense… Are we over thinking things? He just said he could heal us too! Vampires aren't supposed to have healing magic are they...? Could he really be a human like us…?

(MC’s perspective)
What a mess!
I completely lost control of myself earlier. I didn’t even realize what was going on when all of a sudden I found myself completely covered in blood with all the ogres already dead. Somewhere along the way I had lost my knives too. I think I remember throwing them away because I wanted to crush the ogres with my bare hands… or something like that…
I recovered myself after I saw the horrifying look that I was getting from all the people I had ‘saved’. I could see their faces from a piece of mirror to the right of me, and from what I could see they were filled with fear.
I put on an act of pretending to be disgusted by all the blood and washing it away, but it didn't convince them much. The telekinesis girl even tried to kill me with a wooden stake through the heart, hilarious! I allowed the stake to hit me as I knew my steel-skin ability would keep me safe.
I then tried to manipulate them by logic, but they didn’t seem to want to budge from their vampire theory. I was honestly getting tired of it all.
I made a big speech, trying one last time to get them to accept me. I have no idea why I am even trying to be accepted by them, but I have a feeling it has something to do with the telekinesis girl. For some reason I am attracted to her…
That being said, I can’t be bothered much. It’s only simple attraction and it will end soon enough if she keeps thinking of me as a vampire. If they want to stick with their vampire theory I’ll just knock them all out, take their blood and leave them to fend for themselves.
Thus, I waited to see whether they will accept me and I will have to get sneaky with taking their blood, or if I will be forced to knock them all out and take their blood by force if they stick with their vampire theory.
'I really hope they stick with the vampire theory', I thought to myself as I grinned inwardly looking at their faces still filled with fear and doubt...
