《9001: A Dungeon Ship Odyssey》Chapter 20: Recruitment List

“Excuse me miss can you help us?” Leah asked a young woman that was passing them wearing a Rokita tower uniform.
“Yes, what do you need?” She replied.
“We are looking to recruit members for a newly formed crew where do we go to see the list?” Leah asked.
“Ah lets see.” he young woman turned and looked around before pointing at the very far left hand side of the tower. “The second to last register is the Recruitment center. Is that all?” She asked.
“Yes thank you.” Leah said and with Mirella, Nelim, Pelonius and the two cores, in their Nanite bodies, walked over.
“Good morning how many I help you?” The woman at the register asked when they walked up.
“Yes we need two medic, a more experienced chief of Security and some guards that can be trusted on a Research ship, two Mechanic, a good Cook, two Farmer, and two technician who are also good space navigators.” Leah said as if reading a shopping list.
The woman looked at Leah slightly startled and a wry smile as she pulled up five different screens.
“By chance is this a fleet recruiting? I see in the files this young man also has a ship?” She asked.
“Ah well I was able to get a ship before my brother and he got his own but he is more into researching so he joined me and we formed a fleet. I think the system automatically updates, our name is Unbound.” Leah explained.
“Ah I get it.” The woman nodded with a smile not inquiring about personal problems which seem plentiful in this situation. She pushed forth the holograms with a name and information of graduate skills and other specializations including age and time in the field.
The first Leah went to find was the Medic while her brother took control of the security screen. The research ship is twice as big as an explorer and it also starts out with twice the number of crew for the sole purpose that at least half the crew is made up of security. The quality and loyalty is something to account for. Still he went the easy way and searched up combat groups willing to join a crew. The number drastically dropped but with a crew information you would need to click on each party to see its members information or you would only see the name profession and the age.
One thing to note is that there are no pictures for some reason. Its unknown why they leave it like this but one possibility is identity theft.
The others each start to look for themselves while Leah was concentrated on the Medic. She had placed emphasis on a Field medic with both magic and medical knowledge. This was because they needed a healing for their dungeon party and combat groups. It wouldn’t do to have a cowering medic so a Field medic is normally chosen more for adventurer groups while city recruit the hospital type who don’t like fighting.
Several options were interesting, Tony had float from Pelonius’s shoulder to hers and looked over her shoulder at the choices and frowned since they all seemed to be boys and pretty boys at that.
“Damn it, although I complain about having no men in the ship why does the medic have to be a man!” He grumbled. As he looked his eyes suddenly shined as he pointed out, “That one that one!” He said.
Leah followed his finger to the information of a 20 year old female medic. The information was like most of them but it had its own differences.

Name:
Joce Yanagi
Age:
20
Profession:
Field Medic
Specialization:
Water, Light and Healing magic
Area’s of expertise
- Good at Surgery both magical and non magical.
- Good a Large scale AOE healing and support magic.
- Due to medical knowledge I am also good at biology and basic bioengineering.
- Learned to good degree how to produce potions and medical drugs during school and field training.
Type of Crew you would like to join?
Preferably a Newly made crew where I can get along with from the start.
Previous work experience
- I spent two years within Helionova Military for field training after graduation.
- Also do part time dungeon diving selling my services.
“She doesn’t seem to bad, Helionova Military must have been rough though she is probably accustomed to fighting then.” Leah said and dragged the information off the screen forming one of its own that the woman from the register instantly took and brought up her information. Passing her address and contact number.
At the same time Pelonius pulled out the information for a group of 8 directly. The name was Elite Shining Shield Guardian Order.
“AHAHAHA! What the hell man! Why the hell did you go with the most chuuni party!” Tony laughed as he saw the name of the party.
“Because of their occupants.” he said grabbing the screen before the young receptionist could and opened it by stretching the screen causing it to open the eight member.
The others looked and the names and age appeared.
The leader was a 34 year old ex military Magi rifle marksman specialized in mid to long range. With him was their own 22 year old mage healer with Healing, light and fire magic. A 17 year old magic archer which is rare since guns outdo bow and arrow but magic ones are really good at crowd control. There were three close range classes, a 19 year old warrior, a 16 year old Scout which is a class trained in locating enemy and traps and finally 26 year old Tech warrior.
This class made everyone shocked because it was a mechanic close range fighter normally using their mechanic skills to make some kind of drone, turret or robot to fight. Some even made robotic suit for them to climb in.
The last two were a pair, it was a 20 year old monster trainer and a trained demon companion. The companion wasn’t a combat type and instead a cargo type being a large transport beast who carries their supplies. Checking the information it seems this monster trainer also learned space magic specific to the monster trainer and breeder course known as ‘Private land’ which creates a personal dimension where monsters can be stored. There was a list and most of them were small creatures and at least half were low level humanoid servant types but they covered a large range of support jobs such as cooking, weapon cleaning, armor repair and then there was combat monsters such as a young war bear or a scout beast that is good at tracking such as a bloodhound wolverine.
The list was actually quite interesting.
“The variety is quite interesting and it also covers your medical need?” Nelim says.
“Nope, this is their party mage healer. I need a real medic on my ship incase magic doesn’t work.” he said as he pointed out the mage healer specialized in support magic and not healing magic.
The others nodded understanding and he gave the information to the woman who brought out the contact information.
Giving the security personnel to Leah he took the Medic information.

Leah put specifically someone at least 25 years old. The list was obviously long and she started to look.
Nelim poked her half way and showed her the information for the Farmer.
Name:
Crystal Joplin
Age:
24
Profession:
Farmer
Specialization:
- Animal Breeding, Selective Breeding, animal caretaking
- Domestic Farm Monster Breeding and Rearing
- Magic known, Water, Earth and Nature.
Area’s of expertise
- Knowledgeable in the field of breeding and caretaking of normal animals and monsters.
- Extensive knowledge in the field of cultivating vegetation and knows plant arrangement to prevent insect invasion.
Type of Crew you would like to join?
As long as the crew is not violent or extensively reckless or cruel and allows me to work as I please then I am okay.
Previous work experience
I have worked for a plant city dungeon owned by the Treant and Dryads in Floria Forest. I aided in teaching the newly made city dungeon in proper plant arrangement and teaching it how to spawn naturally occurring plant monsters including farm type creatures.
“Joplin? Is this your family?” Leah asked.
“Yep, this is my blood sister, she is my actual sister.” Nelim smiled clearly convoying her intent of wanting to travel with her big sister.
“Floria Forest, that is one of the Sentient plant people towns within the 5000 km radius of Rokita. Its supposed to be 2400 km to the south west right?” Mirella asked.
“Thats right, sister is living there at the moment because the city is still new and the dungeon is supposed to have only 2 floors at the moment. That said I received a letter from her two months ago saying that the dungeon is stable and the city is attracting lots of people so the dungeon so soon the population will reach a point where it can expand to three floor.” Nelim said with a bright smile.
“Oh she seems good! If you want to recruit her then I am fine. Since she is Nelim’s sister we can only expect someone kind and another great cook.” Mirella said.
“No! No! No! No! No! No! Please don’t let sister get behind the stove it will only end in disaster!” Nelim instantly shook her head making them all look at her in surprise.
“Why not?” Tony asked confused.
“Why do you think I trained so hard to be a cook.” She said sadly letting her head fall dejected.
Hearing her words it suddenly dawned on them what she mean making them wonder what kind of monster her sister actually cooked up to make this girl so depressed.
“I-it's alright, we will tell her not to cook unless she proves she can cook without making anything dangerous. After all you can’t expect someone to remain bad at something there entire life, they just need to practice more.” Leah said to Nelim who smiled wryly.
“At least with Tony scanning the food it will help us make sure she mixed in actual spices instead of poison.” Nelim said and everyone within the surrounding that heard her looked at her strangely since the words that came out mixed with smile on her face did not seem to mix yet the way to acted gave a weird feeling.
“O-okay.” leah said and passed the info for Leah’s sister to the young woman who returned the contact info with a wry smile.
All that was left now for her crew was a Mechanic. Tony could learn to use the navigation system from the technician that joined her brothers crew.
Pelonius passed the information to a medic then took the farmer one while Leah looked at the recruit information for a mechanic with experience in magic and magicless tech. It's actually quite hard to find someone who knew both because magic tech is prevalent so most people specialize in both with only those rare people who can’t use magic so well learning both and usually using magic tech to improve their magical output or working on ships that focus more on non magic technology.
After looking with Nelim and Mirella they found several mechanics that fit her requested needs. The girls looked through the men and women and discussed for a while, even opening a second window for Pelonius who was ready to choose, before they finally choose one mainly because his name was a bit easier to remember and seemed nicer. 17 year old male with average magical ability who learn how to make both magical and non magical. He is also trained in support class for combat.
With him it made 7 crew but Tony filled in for the eighth being the technician and Bioengineer since he was learning from her brother.
After that she helped her brother choose and finish up the list and finally thanked the young woman and left.
“Alright, let us return to the ship so that we can map out these locations.” Pelonius said. “AI, teleport us back.” He said.
“Yes sir.” A robotic voice said from Pelonius’s communicator on his wrist and suddenly particles of light gathered around them all and a flash of light followed before they all vanished.
They appeared inside Pelonius’s research ship and the man himself stretched and sighed. “Its still early so lets go to the bridge so that we can map out all the location and work out a route that will save us the most time to try and hire these people. It won’t take long for the Adventurer’s Association to contact them and tell them about us being interested. They will be expecting us so we should plan ahead.” He said.
The others followed him to the bridge where a similarly looking AI to the one on Leah’s ship was present. He uploaded all the coordinates and told the AI to upload this information to Leah’s ship and also connect their ships so they can track each other.
The lights began to blink as the map zoomed out showing an area of 4000 km around Rokita.
It was almost space view map and on it were lots of dots. One set of seven were pink for Leah and the other blue for Pelonius.
“The pink one is yours Leah, now let's see.” Pelonius said and began to examine all the spots as he tried to think of a good route.
“AI please map the shortest most efficient route from Rokita through all the pink points then returning back to Rokita.” Leah said.
“Calculating now.” The AI replied.
Tony laughed at the genius researcher that forgot to use the machine with an even faster calculating capacity than human.
He asked the same and soon two lines went from the closest town aiming to make the quickest and efficient route before it came back to Rokita.
“We have two different routes.” Nelim said.
“Yeah but that isn’t a problem, it will take probably two or three days maybe four since we need to move their things in and such.” Leah said.
“Hey what if they don’t accept? After all this is recruiting but it doesn’t mean we will get someone.” Mirella asked.
“The recruitment rate for those on the list at the AA is around 75%. Most people on it are those who either are trying to go to space but can’t build up the money for it even the smallest ships are hard to get even if you want to finance it at the banks since the taxes are ridiculous for this kind of financing.” Pelonius said.
“Mostly it is the personality of the captain and crew that matter.” Leah said. “AI upload the maps to my ship.” Leah said.
“Action already complete.” The AI said.
“Alright brother, we will be going. Will you go now or later?” Leah asked.
“I will go in a little while.” He said and saw them out from the teleporter which sent them directly to their ship.
Soon Leah had Tony head off to the first city which happened to be Spenolif which they hadn’t gone to and had the mechanic strangely enough.
