SRY I FUCKED UP ON THE ORDER!!!

*Knock knock*

Two weak knocks on the door signaled the arrival of someone. The room was tall and looked like a library. The room had two floors with no ceiling splitting the floors. Book shelves over the walls on both floors and on the floor over the sparkling clean laminate wood floor were a few carpets over it which held several glass cases displaying the rarest books of the collection.

At the end of the room was a fire place and it was the only area that didn't have a book case within a five meter radius.

Inside the room was an imposing man in his early thirties, he sat on the only armchair and had a cup of coffee in his hand. The man had a simple mustache and wore a white button up shirt tucked into black linen pants and over this was a white lab coat.

Behind him was a beautiful woman in her early thirties. Like her husband she had a lab coat on but underneath she wore a grey button up shirt and a loose skirt that went down a bit past the knees.

In front of the two was an elderly man that held himself like a noble. Grey hair and wearing a suit, he looked like a true noble businessman waiting to do his work. He had a gentle smile on while he drank his own cup of coffee. The other two had poker faces on.

*Knock knock*

Again two slightly stronger knocks comes from the door and the man's wife walks over and opens the door.

Standing there was a small child with the same brown hair as her mother and wearing a cute light pink dress with frills at the end.

"Come in, Leah." The woman said.

The child walked in and followed just behind her mother who stopped behind the armchair.

With a push from her mother she stood on the right side of her father who sat on the chair.

"So this is the next one to go to the Academy huh? She has an impressive magic affinity. Her hair even displays it with such a lush coloration." The elder says while eyeing the child from head to toe.

"Thank you for the evaluation but magical arts are just an interferences. She, like all my children, will be doing research and development studies." The father of the girl said.

"Is that what you want child?" The elder asked her.

The girl looked downcast while ever so slightly shaking her head barely noticeable.

"Don't speak nonsense Leah, our family is of researchers." The father scolds her.

"Sir, please hold your tongue. I am here to evaluate the child and see that she gets the education she both wants and needs, not what you want. Unlike your other children that didn’t have the affinity to contest against it she does." The elder says in a deeper harsh tone.

The girl's father glares at the man but quiets down.

The elder waves for the child to come over so he may speak quietly to her.

"Tell me real quiet child, what do you like?" The elder whispered into her ear.

"Mag...ic..." she says just as quietly barely auditable.

"Is there something you want to do if you learn magic?" He asked again in a low voice.

"Visit all the most beautiful worlds in space...and make real friends." She says with a slight twinkle in her eye.

"What do you think of researchers and researching?" He asked.

The girl remained quiet and took a peek back at her parents before turning her gaze back down and remaining quiet.

The elder man sighed seeing her do that and looked back at the parents.

"In my opinions, your daughter has the best development in magic both her desire and her affinities are aimed towards that." The elder says calmly but the father doesn't remain so calm.

His pale face raises to a bright shade of red and he stands up in his fury.

"Magic is useless to true researcher. You can't mix the two together and my daughter WILL! NOT! Become a mage." He says.

"Unfortunately that is not up to you, that is up to her as well as the Academy's staff." The elder says.

"So...!" The father said in a deadly low tone as he grabbed the girl and turned her around. "You want to learn magic! You want to disgrace our family! YOU WANT TO LEARN SUCH AN ABOMINABLE THING!!" Her father shouts.

He lifts his hand and brings it down.

*SLAP*

"Gyaahhhh!" I suddenly jumped in bed sprawling through my covers covered in sweat.

I looked around and saw i was in my room inside my ship.

My body was shaking like a leaf. I held myself while breathing deeply as my heart accelerated and the adrenaline pumped through my system.

That dream, it's been a while since i had that dream, no memory. The day the coordinator from the Academy came to see which classes he felt i would need. I was only six at that time and the same year i would go to the Academy.

We start at 7 years old and return home each "year" for holidays. The academy is off planet, actually the truth is the Academy is one of the few Starships in the galaxy.

What is Star ship? It is a ship as large as a moon. It is so big that once it approaches a planet it becomes clearly visible like any normal celestial body.

It is a ship with one of the nicest cores existent. The core has no restraint on it because it is the only core to ever break the holders program. The skill in hacking is unparalleled but she doesn't attack and instead separate her body, the ship, into sectors that are specialize for nearly all types of jobs. It's considered the second most important starship in the galaxy and only beaten by the military outpost which orbits HQ the planet that is the centerpiece of the entire galaxy.

I slowly get out of bed and walk slowly on my shaking legs out of the room and into the bathroom.

"Oi had a nightmare?" Tony asked appearing in the corridor.

"None of your business!" I spit those words out and enter the bathroom.

I close the door and start to fill the bath.

I set it to warm, not hot, i needed the relaxing warm water to just sit in.

Still before entering, i wash myself outside of the bath.

(Japanese style)

It's good the bath upgraded this way, all old human cultures mixed together long ago and one that survived the longest is how to bath wash outside, rinse and then relax in a warm tub full of water.

As i get in i feel the heat slowly seep in and relax my tense muscles.

"So...what was the nightmare about?" Tony suddenly asked but i just ignored it. "If you don't at least reply, i will turn the hot water off!"

"SERIOUSLY YOU ASSHOLE LEAVE ME ALONE! GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU SHITTY ROCK THAT DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO READ THE FUCKING MOOD!!" I suddenly burst.

He goes quiet after my reply and as i start relaxing he strikes where it hurt most.

"It's family related, isn't it?" He said.

...

I remain quiet as i hold back the tears.

"The way i know is because i remember having an outburst like that. My fucking dad was a dead drunk and abused my mother and because of the stress she took it out on me, my older brother and three little sisters.

Eventually it got so bad she simply pushed us into the car and dumped us about five blocks from the orphanage. There one by one we were split up and i was adopted by some middle class family. I had nightmares of my mother hitting me and my brothers and i reacted like you did. I once even shouted at my new mother to leave me alone and mind her own business. It was after that incident that i closed myself in a room for four years and became a game addict. I was too smart for school and it with a few hours on the pc i knew a few months worth of school subjects. I did leave after 18 and became a major in programming but that was for hacking. I spent the rest of my life hacking into company systems, stealing top secret archives, even hijacked the computer system of the most fucking richest religion and learned all the secrets and knowledge stored there. But i never saw my old or new mother after what happened." Tony finished saying.

I remain quiet for a while. I knew he was monitoring even if he couldn't see into the room.

I don't know why i did this but i guess it was fair since he talked about himself.

"My father...my family are famous researchers. But they hate magic for some reason. Because i was born with such innate ability in magic i wasn't treated like a daughter. I was constantly beat, or educated as they called it, when caught doing magic even a little. When i was six an elder who decides which classes a child does at the Academy cam to evaluate me. I didn't like researching like my family forced my sibling to like. Since they weren't good with magic it was obvious they would do researching.

For me though he said i should do magic and i also wanted to do it. Because of that i was slapped in front of the coordinator until he intervened.

My father said if i pursue magic he would disown me. He is a low class noble and a famous researcher so being disowned would ruin many chances for me.

When i graduated he kicked me out of the house." I ended it there in tears as i spoke. The memories of my family alway hurt to remember and even more to speak them.

I don't know why i told Tony all this but i guess it takes a small bit of the load off me.

I grab some water and splash myself while releasing my voice crying while i curled my legs in and hug them and bury my face in them.

I stay crying for a good few minutes. The time was plenty to take more of the load off my back.

As i calmed down i heard a knock on the door.

"Hey Leah, Tony says you're crying in despair in there. Since he can't do anything he called us, are you fine??" Mirella asked.

"Yeah!" I reply and splash water on my face to wake up from the daze.

I suck up the crying and wash my face before getting out once i put on my clothes again.

Mirella and Nelim were outside with worried looks.

“What’s wrong Leah?” Nelim asked worried. Her gentle expressions were soothing but it made me remember of the people that cared for her and made me feel worse.

“Nothing…” I said.

“No bullish captain bitch. You told me a fucking rock so tell them, your crew, as well.” Tony said appearing in front of me and pointing his holographic finger in my face with a pissed off look.

I just look at him with an empty expressionless look that showed how much i wanted to kill him but i knew i would just be losing a lot of time and money by doing that.

“Nelim, go make something to calm her down. She isn’t in a state of mind to talk.” Mirella said.

“Get her some tea. I just ordered several types of herbs and put them on the kitchen counter. The kitchen is over there.” Tony said pointing to the kitchen.

The Naiad nodded and walked into the kitchen. Mirella grabbed my arm and pulled me in my own room.

She made me sit on a chair as she grabbed the brush and a town. She dried my wet hair a bit more and then began brushing it gently making sure there were no tangled areas.

When she was done she pulled it all back and into a ponytail but since i had short bangs in front they fell forward and remained loose over my forehead.

“It’s ready!” We heard the Naiad call from the kitchen.

Mirella finishes brushing my hair and then drags me over.

On the table was much more than a simple cup of tea. There was also a bowl of herbal soup and ginger bread as well.

“I made the soup and had Tony make the bread since we didn’t have materials.” She said gently.

Like a machine i start eating barely tasting anything. The bread was the same, it went in but i didn’t really feel much from it.

As I finish eating the two were waiting.

“Alright, now speak. What’s with all the depression.” Mirella asked outright.

I just looked at her and then looked down remaining quiet.

“Tell them yourself or i will replay the track i recorded from your talk with me.” Tony said looked down with a serious expression on his face that made the punk look truly scary unlike the normal way he acts.

Since there was really no escape so i start telling them in detail. Much more detail then when i spoke with Tony. How my life was a constant struggle, from a young age my parents hated me for no apparent reason besides my magic affinity. How they doted my third eldest brother because he was an inherent genius that was born with photographic memory. The only saving grace was that the same brother was also the nicest person I ever knew. He knew very well what my brothers and parents did to me. We were truly complete opposites of each other. He was on the extreme side of the magicless researcher faction and i was in the highest level of mage faction with three affinities.

Nelim didn’t know so she was surprised but didn’t say anything.

As i continue talking about my life, they both were unable to meet my eyes when i looked. They both knew far too well why i was the way i was.

Anyway, the tipping point that made my fragile relationship with my parents was when i was evaluated to go to the Academy.

I was given Mage course as my main classes though to make it less strenuous i also asked for researching as a side class.

The research i learned though was still considered an abomination to my parents. I learned how to mix magic and technology. Something my parents believed shouldn’t exist.

“How can parents like yours even exist. Problems like this shouldn’t even exist on this planet. I wouldn’t say that all worlds are like this since there are places with much less mana so magic isn’t as widely spread but magic has been known for centuries.” Mirella complained.

“You know...Binoli isn’t my original name. My parents changed it to cut every connection possible.” I said in a morbid tone as i sulked further into my chair as tears run down my cheek. “My original name is Leah Ulkina Biswal.” I said.

The two girls paled considerably hearing my original name but i just felt that disgusting bitterness saying that name again.

“Y-your a...Biswal…” Mirella said in a shaky voice.

It was a normal reaction. My parents were cruel to all magic users and since there are few people on this planet with 0 affinity or capability to use mana, there were cruel to the general public. They never flew in ships with cores or from cores.

“No, I'm a Binoli.” I said sullenly at the disgusting name that was given to me.

I sigh and get up. As I take a few steps i hear the others get up and suddenly feel both jump at me and hug me from behind.

“Your Leah, no one else, a last name doesn’t type you to a family but the bonds you make with them do. If your family doesn’t love you then make a new one. Also you said you older brother loved you so you still have a family. If that doesn’t help then we will be yours.” Mirella says with a bright smile.

Nelim was blushing but nodded agreeing with her.

I made a weak smile. I got some really good friends from these two.

“Well then...go back to bed so we can properly go to the dungeon tomorrow without being tired.” I said.

“Hehe, we will sleep with you to make sure you don’t have nightmares, right Nelim.” Mirella said.

“Un~!” She said nodding.

“W-wait i do…” before i could deny her she lifted me in a princess carry and rushed out and tossed me in my bed.

“But before that we will make sure you know just how much we like you captain.” Mirella said grabbing my pillow.

I took a step back.

“W-what are you going to do with that.” I asked a bit scared.

“Hehehe...A slumber party without a pillow fight isn’t any fun.” She said before throwing that thing straight at my face making me fall on my butt.

I looked at her with a glare and a grin appeared on my face.

“Is that so...then i won’t hold back.” I grabbed the pillow and spin it making it hit her.

Nelim tried to stop us but when a small pillow hit her face she blinked a bit before tossing one at Mirella with surprising strength.

After that it was a non-stop slugfest of soft pillows.
