《The antagonist's daughter》Volume 3: Chapter 47 True colors

Cyran watched the girl struggle in his grip with cold eyes. He had his suspicions since the moment they had met. How could a normal human draw that stone-faced guardian’s attention? How could a normal human use dark magic that was even labeled as a sin in some countries, cast it with such ease? How could a normal human defeat the devil king’s 6rd familiar? But most importantly, how could a normal human understand his clan’s ancient language that even some vampire descendants fail to comprehend? Even breaking the devil king’s strongest sealing magic as if she were pulling out a weed sprout….
“Let…go of me!” Charlotte enhanced her entire body with magic on the spur of the moment, breaking free from his grip.
Cyran looked at his hand that had blocked her kick. His flesh was partially rotten by that black energy that was emitting from her body.
Charlotte glared at him, “Demon? You should look in the mirror if you forgot what demons really look like!”
But Cyran simply scoffed at her words, “Your heart –your soul is even blacker than a demon’s. If you’re not a demon, then what are you? A god? I did hear rumors saying that the god of order had disappeared. What? You decided to play human now?”
“If I was, the first thing I would do was probably kill you and be done with it.” How the hell did this suddenly turn into her being the disappeared god of this world!?
The dangerous aura from Cyran didn’t seem to lessen in the slightest, if anything, it grew even more terrifying as time went by. “Lost your memories perhaps? It doesn’t matter. Now that you’re in such a weakened state, it would be foolish not to get rid of you.”

Charlotte seemed to have sensed her life being in danger. She quickly enhanced her body as fast as she was allowed to, dodging his attacks that came down on her like rain. The sky had at some point turned a crimson red without her knowing, the atmosphere filled with pure bloodlust between the two figures. With the barrier in place, no matter what happened here, they wouldn’t be disturbed. He could slowly take his time to get rid of her…
“Kgh-!” Although she always knew he was dangerous and keeping him so close to her was plain stupidity, she didn’t know how to get rid of him nor what had suddenly triggered him to want to kill her this much.
Obviously he had mistaken her for someone else, but who? Which enemy could make him glare at her with such deep hatred? Charlotte had several suspects in mind that she could remember from the game, but at the moment, she couldn’t afford to get distracted by her thoughts.
Although her defenses were good, Cyran’s speed was far greater. He found several openings in no time at all, slipping past her defenses and grabbing her by the neck, he mercilessly threw her with great force to the ground.
Blood spurted out from her mouth, coughing nonstop. But before she could regain her balance, Cyran’s body already stood in front of her, grabbing her by the throat once more as those blood red eyes locked onto hers.
“Show me who you are…”
“Urgh-!” As his eyes turned an even deeper red, she felt a heavy pressure weight down on her body, her bones feeling as though they were being slowly crushed. Her head felt as though it was being split apart, her breathing became chaotic. But she could feel that, beyond that pain, her soul was being forcefully torn open.

“Ah!” She screamed. Unknown to her, an ominous violet glow enveloped her body, countless strange black marks that resembled runes spread through her entire body, yet at the moment, her consciousness laid elsewhere. Even Cyran had yet to notice this change.
Scenes played through both of their eyes; they were images ‘she’ was very much familiar with, as they were the memories of not Charlotte Ionesse, but Kana Katsuki. Those cold, bloody memories and that nightmare that she buried deep within, trying to forget them, they were forcefully brought back to the surface.
“Remember what I thought you. Never show your target any mercy! Emotions are but a burden to your life!” the images of her grandfather who she didn’t know was still alive or not…
“HahahHahaHAha!” the her that slaughtered any in her way as she was drenched in their blood…
“Kana...I…r-run…”the death of the only person she was truly able to open her heart to…
-Bang- her death…
And…
The scene suddenly changed into complete darkness and silence. In the midst of this darkness stood a lone figure dressed in black from head to toe. That person had long hair that reached the ground. A strange energy seeping from that person’s body. Sensing the two persons presence, that person slowly turned around. It felt as though time had momentarily come to a stop.
As Cyran dug deeper into her memories, his frown deepened. What? Impossible!? Wasn’t that person already-!?
--Tzz!
Before the last scene could fully play out, the spell was interrupted. The sudden burst of energy that was shot at his body send him a few meters away. Cyran finally returned to the present, he glared at the figure that had interfered.
“You…!” Cyran clutched his head with one hand; the backlash he received from looking into her past was something he hadn’t expected. No, what he didn’t expect was that this girl was actually ‘that’ person out of every existence.
“Cyran, did I not warn you before not to lay your filthy hands on her?” standing not far from Cyran was a tall man with long dark hair and violet glowing pupils cloaked in ancient black robes, different from the person he saw in those memories. In his arms, he securely held the curled up Charlotte whose entire body was now drenched in cold sweat, her face twisted in pain as she constantly gasped for air, her eyes tightly shut.
“Noir…that human, are you telling me that she’s…”the man Cyran called Noir cut off his words
“Do not speak a word of this. If I ever find out that you harmed her again in any way…” his tone carried a heavy pressure, making even Cyran, a vampire noble, difficult to stand straight.
A strange smile spread across Cyran’s face. To make even this uncaring guy show this much emotion whenever this human was involved, it just answered his unspoken question. It was laughable that he didn’t notice something as obvious as this till now.
Noir gently placed a finger on Charlotte’s forehead; her body slowly began to relax as a warm energy spread through her body. The strange marks that had appeared all over her body slowly faded away.
Cyran kept his distance as he cautiously watched that man’s actions. He’s sealing those memories again?

Delve
Truth hides behind action. Delve. A word with many meanings. It may refer to an abyss, a dark place of no return or may also be a refuge, a haven of retreat from the harshness of the outside. None of those are right to me. For me, to delve is to seek the truth. Delving into that dark abyss and coming back with answers. To leave that safe refuge and suffer the pain of the outside just because it is real. This is the story of me delving deep into the truths of the universe. Suffering things that should not be suffered in search of things that should not be known. Once a common man, drowned in the same questions that have plagued humanity since the beginning of times, now I have found my answers. Now I have meaning. Delve, and you shall have yours as well. Jack is a regular citizen of modern society: he works on an office, uses public transport every day, receives a meager salary, and drowns his frustrations with entertainment and alcohol. Maybe, the only thing that sets him apart from many others, is his unique outlook on life. Despite feeling an unfillable void in his soul and suffering from deep depression, he still sees as his duty to be a functional, exemplary member of society. All in order to prove his life-goal point: no matter how good you are, life is still shit. This point-of-view, however, will be challenged by circumstances as a mysterious encounter with a weirdly dressed man takes him to a strange and dark cave. In this place, he will have to fight for his life against fantastical creatures from fiction, and more importantly, get face to face with his own nature. In doing so, he will uncover secrets about the cave that will change both him and all he ever thought to be true.
