《The antagonist's daughter》Chapter 8 home sweet home....or so I thought

It’s been two days since Charlotte returned home. Duke Adrian had already briefed the servants about what happened and to look after her. But, as soon as they had left, charlotte wasted no time and immediately discarded her façade.
Iris and Lilly were warmly welcomed by the other servants, although a bit worried about their miss’s intentions, but kindly taught them the basics nonetheless.
(Still, even now I can’t get used to this place. It’s too freaking huge!)
Even though she wasn’t someone who wasn’t directionally challenged, with a mansion as huge as this one, she had to ask the servants for direction several times, in her own home!
(I think I’ll need a whole week until I memorize the entire building’s structure.)
“My lady, are you feeling better?”
“Ah, Lia, yes. I am doing fine.”
Lia or actually short for Cecilia was a young girl five years older than Charlotte and also her exclusive maid.
(And also another character not mentioned in the game!)
The reason for her agitation was, unlike what you usually read in stories about the cross traveler inheriting the original body’s memories, she didn’t. By some miracle, she was somehow able to get out of that sticky situation after she introduced the two beastkin girls. After that, all the servants introduced themselves to the two one by one.
Charlotte who had already thrown her sickly façade away by then attentively listened in and memorized each and every one of their names. But as for places and habits, they were still completely blank.
(Oh well, I’ll just have to improvise by then)
A/n: …I don’t think you should be that lax, Lotte dear.
Charlotte sat by the window and gazed outside. Lia poured her a cup of warm tea and brought a few snacks.

“Thanks Lia.”
“You’re welcome.”
“By the way, how are those two doing? I haven’t seen them around lately.”
“If you are referring to Iris and Lilly, then they might be in the middle of sweeping the garden. Shall I call them over?”
Even though she was speaking normally, Charlotte could see on her face that she was quite nervous. No, more accurately, it was fear.
(Just what kind of person was Charlotte previously, I wonder?)
Aside from knowing that she was the haughty type and hated beastkin and commoners, nothing else was mentioned in the game.
Charlotte could pretty much guess what was going through Lia’s mind...no, probably everyone’s mind, but acted like she didn’t know.
“No, I was thinking of going for a short stroll anyways. Ah, before I forget, I had previously placed an order in the capital. I will need to trouble one of you to get it.”
“Yes of course.”
Charlotte got up from her eat and headed outside, led by Lia. Even as she passed the servants, they also seemed to be afraid of her as everyone was avoiding her gaze, they kept their heads lowered and just bowed.
(This is getting freaky)
Outside in the garden, Iris and Lilly were working really hard, but still made several mistakes as this was just their second day. When the servants saw the young miss suddenly come over, they all panicked. They hurriedly began to sweep the pathway she usually took clean without a sign of dust. Some of the maids present then urged the two new comers to straighten their backs, clear the way, tidy up and not to show a single sign or action that might displease her.
(Now I just feel offended.)
Having seen the servants’ ridiculous actions with the same ridiculous speed just made her speechless.

She stood there with her eyes closed as she gently massaged her temples “You people are way beyond weird…”
Luckily she said that so no one could hear her. If they did, they would all scream in their hearts “You’re the one that’s weird!”
When they saw the young miss’s troubled expression, they involuntarily gulped.
(Forget it. Let’s just ignore them.)
Or so she decided in her heart.
Charlotte looked up at the two little beastkin girls. Unlike before, they had a far better complexion. Their previous pale skin had turned slightly rosy. Although they are still too skinny and look underfed, over time they should get better. Let’s just hope they don’t get too fat.
“Right, Lia.”
“Yes my lady.”
“Do you know a place where there is a large open space and where I won’t be disturbed?”
“Pardon….Yes there is. Around the back garden, that should suit your request. Would you like me to bring you there?”
“If you would please.”
Even now, the atmosphere around her was incredibly awkward. After Lia had brought her to the back garden, she dismissed Lia and went back to her room.
The next day the servant who had set out to retrieve the things she requested from Annalisa quickly arrived.
(These guys sure are fast and efficient)
Little did she know that it was because they feared her ‘wrath’.
She also asked one of the servants to go buy some training clothes and a set of pants and shirts.
The previous Charlotte only possessed dresses, and expensive ones at that.
(I swear that unless I’m forced to, I’ll never ever touch those things, ever!)

The Second Coming of Fate [A High Fantasy Story]
Prologue Arc: The Day That Begins Your Fate - COMPLETED Story Arc 1: Chaos in the Lamorian Kingdom - ONGOING Please consider following/leaving a rating. I plan to turn this into a long lasting series, and it would really mean a whole lot to me. :) ----- Having succumb to amnesia, Galvin one day appears in the Grand Forest east of the capital kingdom Lamora. For the next two months, he lives a perfectly carefree yet boring life until one fateful day changed everything. Encountering all sorts of characters and dealing with all sorts of shenanigans, Galvin begins to experience visions of what appears to be the future. With this newfound power in a world full of magic, yet plagued with war, discrimination, and brutality, will Galvin be able to change fate…or die trying? ----- Do you like stories where the protagonist doesn't start out strong and is deeply character driven (with a LOT of inner monologues)? A story that has its fair share of comedic and dark moments? Well then you've come to the right place! However, if you're looking for LitRPG mechanics, then unfortunately, this story doesn't contain too many of them. The dynamics of the story will be based on real life physics and mechanics (with a bit of magic of course!) Also, I delve deeply into a lot of disturbing topics, so readers do be warned. However, if any of this sounds interesting to you, then please come by and give my story a read. ----- Expect releases as soon as possible (which is like 4 - 10 days). Just know that I'm writing this story as it progresses, so a lot of first drafts are to be expected. :D

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
