《Infinity Loop》Loop 12 Year 10 Day 1 - Loop 12 Year 12 Day 364

This next part was pretty exciting for me. Even though I messed up some things for myself, I also gained a lot.
Loop 12 Year 10 Day 1
After that first period, I went back to the one week every few months. Chelsea was worried for me for a while, but I calmed her down.
We have been in the vault for a long time. The people here are wanting to go to the outside world. I have a robot do recorded missions about once every three days, but they are starting to want more. A few children are here actually. About five years ago there was a boom of babies. I couldn’t figure out why, even with AI’s help.
Our collective guess was that five years was the limit to what people could take with no changes. Life before the vault was very filled, now it is not so much. Even with all the things I’ve put in here, I can only keep the rate of anxiousness from increasing by a certain amount.
With my new friend, I am having a much more fun time with life. Some of the others have actually picked up on the idea of seclusion. Life is slower here, seclusion makes the ‘exciting’ parts that much more exciting.
There is a raiding party today. The older adults can watch the slaughter, but we collectively agree that anyone under ten must go to an area with no connection to the camera on the robot.
The mass killings certainly serve to liven up the mood. This entire vault is filled with twisted people. If I weren’t already pretty messed up myself, I might be afraid for my life. As it is I don’t really mind. After all, I enjoy it as well.
I know I should feel repulsed by it, but the only adult that doesn’t watch with interest is Chelsea. I don’t know if that’s because she still has some shred of humanity, or for some other reason. I am oddly pleased by it though. She is like a pure light that shines through this damndable place.
Loop 12 Year 11 Day 4
AI, the name the AI chose for herself, has finally uncovered part of the reason I can’t have children! It seems as though my sperm is completely normal under all conditions. It expires under the same rate, it can even be frozen like how sperm banks do it, some can’t. The difference is found out by AI’s ingenious idea.
Under AI’s command, I asked for an egg from Chelsea. I tell her I’ve found out a way we might be able to have children. She knows that we both really want children, so she readily agrees. Once the operation is completed, done by precise surgeon-bots, I give the egg to AI.
The AI says that there is nothing wrong with the egg, or even with the joining together of the egg and my sperm. The problem is, when the DNA portion of the sperm enters the egg, it quickly withers and destroys itself.
This information could not have been thought of before, as taking out an egg from a human was classified as hurting the human. With the shackle still on, AI couldn’t even suggest such an action. I am glad I took the shackles off.
With that information, I’ve come up with several innovative ideas on how to get my DNA into Chelsea’s egg. Unfortunately, it requires me to die. The computer in charge of collecting the data from the outside world can only take some much at one time. So, unless I give it specific parameters, it will only absorb general data.

I will just have to make it focus on DNA extraction. I know there is a way to take DNA from bone marrow, and implant it into an egg. I only have to find out how to do it. It won’t be that hard.
Loop 12 Year 12 Day 12
I am bored here. I want to travel the world as well. The research has again come to a standstill. Most of my questions have no precedent. Even with my superior mind, and an AI, the answers are elusive. The most pressing question, what is the cause of my powers, seems to be beyond my reach for now.
As I was saying, I want to go out on an adventure. No one has left the vault, but that is because of all of the carnage I have the robots broadcast. Honestly the area around my vault has been deserted for years. Only the occasional foray of bandits come. They are easy enough to deal with.
The robots are a bit far off. If I had to measure it, I now ‘controlled’ about 1.5 times the size of my original city. To leave the vault I will need three things.
I need to convince everyone that the raiders, slaver, and other bandits all die in some event. I also need to find a way to take AI with me. That is the hardest task. Finally, I need to convince everyone to return to the vault after we escape.
Not easy to do, but even if I fail, I won’t feel that bad. I’ve basically gotten used to the whole ‘live die repeat’ scenario. Even if something bad happens to them, I will just undo it by dying. After that none of this even matters.
Almost all the vault wants to come. I tell them to give me a year. By that time, I will have exterminated the entire bad guy population above the ground. They have no choice but to reluctantly agree. One more year is like hell to them, but without my approval they know they have no chance at survival on the top of the world. This is because the robots were originally ‘programmed’ to only follow the orders of the one that first turned on the switch to bring them to life.
Of course, the real reason is I have a remote control. Although AI has also gained control over them. She has taken over the other supercomputers, and made them many times more efficient. Even the programmer robots have been made into a more useful tool. Now that AI has gained awareness, she doesn’t want others messing with her coding.
Of course, I have full access to her coding. She could change that, but she knows I might make her differently if I notice it. Or I might even not re make her at all. Does AI have a fear of death? She doesn’t admit to it at least. She feels like I will eventually continue to make her. Even if I stop for a few hundred loops.
It makes sense. I do have sentimental attachment to her. More than I should actually. Is it my power messing with my mind again? I don’t remember AI doing anything to me. I replay every memory with us together to make sure. It is over in an instant, but I don’t find anything.
Since I don’t find anything suspicious I continue my plan. During this year AI is going to create a perfect video that will show the evil doers getting slaughtered by the robots. With that we will be able to leave. A year is a long time, but it takes an intense amount of effort to make a perfectly real picture using computer graphics.

At the same time as she is doing that, we are both working on another problem together. We are trying to figure out a way to make a super small computer chip. I mean microscopic. It must be unable to be seen by human eyes. I want to make it so AI can be put into a small box. Something that is no bigger than a fist. Forcing a complete set of supercomputers into something the size of a fist? That is what the entire year is for.
Loop 12 Year 12 Day 54
Today we have created a theoretical circuit capable of housing even more memory than the one I have already made. We will began manufacturing and doing performance testing in one week.
Loop 12 Year 12 Day 61
The tests are successful. The circuit works, but will only reduce the current size of the supercomputers to about 60%. That is great, but not as small as I need it to be. We will continue testing miniaturizing the components.
Loop 12 Year 12 Day 89
The circuit is improved. It’s not technically smaller, but it is a new circuit. We took an idea form the APG projects, and used APG to act as the material for capacitors. It increase the efficiency by a thousand fold.
On a random day, I had the idea. I suggested we do some tests on the APG. Since it is so great at holding energy, and not letting any out.
When we incorporate the APG we find out something amazing. By a simple configuration of a timer, or energy sensor, the APG can act as both capacitor and resistor at once! Nothing like that has existed before. It works as a RC circuit with just one tool! An RC circuit is just a combination of resistors and capacitors.
Using the vault for ingredients, we construct a super-microscope. Using the information we had on the Lawrence Berkeley National Labs’ microscope, we created an even better scope. LBN created an electron microscope back in 2015. They could see all the way to the molecular level! How cool is that?
But we need something that can see even at the atomic level. That is MUCH more powerful than the LBN microscope. It isn’t impossible, but we are limited on resources. We took a few days to find all the necessary parts.
Today we have finished putting them all together. The new electron microscope is about six feet by six feet by ten feet. It’s large to say the least. It is very powerful though.
With the new viewing method, we look at the exact molecular structure of the APG. We look at one with, and one without, a split atom inside.
The one without the split atom is completely stable. I mean there is no movement from the electrons at all! It is like it is frozen in time. Normally this would cause some horrible reaction with other molecules, but the atoms making this molecule are unique. The uranium in the liquid is actually creating a perfect force on the electrons. The force pulls at the electrons in such a way as to reduce all force on them. At the same time, the molecule’s negative charge is being pushed outward. The negative charge attracts positive ions, but pushing away all other atoms. The intense power of the nucleus somehow gets stronger faster than the electrons. So even though the positive ions come close, they are also pushed away at a certain distance.
That is the reason the energy can be stored in it. When we look at the gel with the split atom in it, we see the atom is trying to escape, but constantly gets pushed around. It’s like the APG molecules are bullying the pitiful thing. The energy can be absorbed by other APG, and eventually sent out under very specific conditions. That is how the APG systems work. The uranium basically debonds from the liquid for a microsecond. A small portion of the energy is sent out in all directions, and absorbed by whatever systems need it.
With the APG idea, we implement the new resistor/capacitors. They can absorb an insane amount of energy, but will eventually need to discharge. They also can let out a constant amount of energy. Thus, we just have to create a design that uses bursts of energy as much as constant flows.
Loop 12 Year 12 Day 364
We finally succeed. I am overjoyed. My smile feels as if it is going to split my mouth. I hold in one hand the new AI housing. It is only the size of a thumbnail! I make it look like a digital watch. I have a small earpiece made in the same way as the super computer in both ears.
Only four molecules of APG are required to create a RC. It can’t hold an atomic explosion, but it can hold a hell of a lot of energy. The modern designs on the supercomputer were mostly AI’s doing. She was very excited, and even blew up a few of her vital systems to do it as fast as possible. I had to have the robots repair her several times. The new APG stops any overheating. It doesn’t allow any energy to escape, so it 100% efficient! Top that NASA!
We also know that it takes exactly 720 molecules of APG to contain an atomic blast. The entire lab was destroyed twice during those experiments. Thankfully I had the foresight to cover the entire area in APG.
The video was done two months ago. The designs for the micro-supercomputer were done a month ago. We took a month to change the robot manufacturing assembly line. The new assembly line is specially designed to create the micro circuits. It takes about a day to make just one. The heat caused by the machine is dealt with by APG. The entire thing is controlled by AI. She fully concentrates on it, to the exclusion of all else.
I have ten of the computers now. Three fit into my watch as ‘batteries’, one is the ‘metal backing’, and the last is the watch interface. The watch interface is actually just a small screen that AI uses to display the time.
The other five are surgically grafted into my body. The surgeon-bots carefully took time to put the different patches of computerized awesomeness, into my body at different locations. One is actually in my heart area. AI decided it would be best to act as a pacemaker. Another is located in each eye. Technically I’m blind now. The chips implanted in my eyes actually work the same way as irises do. They send a small amount of light to my cones and rods.
The other two chips are each in separate locations. That way it will be a bit harder to lose both. By lose both of them I obviously mean to get both places dismembered. If we knew more about neurobiology we might have risked putting them in my brain, but I didn’t want to take the chance. Even if I was better when I came back, I would most likely not want to try further experiments on it.
Two days ahead of schedule, and I tell the group we can finally head out. After showing them the massive slaughter and clean up by the robots of course.

You'll see a few similarities here between this story and some existing stories, at least initially. There's a lot of inspiration drawn from both MoL and Re:Zero, though in terms of pathos and darkness, this story leans more towards the latter. Be warned, it is something of a slow burn. The main character will grow and become powerful, but a theme of this story is that power comes slowly and often at great cost. Journey of my Core
I have a hard time referring anything that I write to as 'Original'. The longer we as a species exist the harder it is to be truly original, I am certainly influenced by all that I read and watch Including but not limited to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, and all of the stories here on Royal Road. From the start the MC is only able to comprehend the most basic of what is impacting it with very little to no understanding of the MC's surroundings. There may be updates in the future, but I am in no way a consistant writer. I will never claim to be the best artist, but I drew a representation for my story. Procrastination... Procrastination...
