Chapter 33
After parting ways with Mr. Stonedead, I met up with Thundernation and the Saintess and told them the good news.
“I got a job.”
“NATURALLY, ONLY AN IDIOT WOULDN’T HIRE SOMEONE AS CUTE AS YOU.”
Good thing he didn’t come along with me. He would have probably made my threats come true.
“Nice work. I also was able to secure a place to live. We were headed there right now.”
What we arrived at was a three story apartment complex next to an empty lot.
I asked the Saintess, “What floor are we on?”
“Luckily I was able to get one on the first floor.”
Thundernation realized something as he looked at the small apartments. “HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIT IN THERE?”
The Saintess replied as if it was obvious. “You won’t. That’s why I asked for an empty lot near it. You will stay there.”
“THEN WHEN IS MY LOVEY-DOVEY TIME WITH CORE-CHAN SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN?!”
I would prefer to be spared from that actually…
“SCREW THIS, I’M GOING IN.”
Thundernation took one step before the Saintess blocked his path. “You are not going to cost me the security deposit on this place.”
I thought she was joking at first, but her eyes screamed she was dead serious. Thundernation paused as both of their determinations clashed against each other. As if to test the waters, Thundernation made to move as if he was going to go around the Saintess, and she responded by stepping in that direction.
“YOU’RE SERIOUS.”
“It’s about money after all.”
After working for almost two months, the Saintess has grown into a sort of money grubber. Whether it was the desire to escape that hellish work environment, or realizing that in order to have things you need money, she acquired the personality to be obstinate in matters concerning currency.

Feeling that this would go on for a while, I decided to let myself in and look around. The first thing after walking in was a hallway with two doors on the right and left side. The first set of doors led to a living room and a small kitchen. The second set was the bedroom and bathroom.
While I wouldn’t exactly call it “homey”, it was by no means unlivable. Cozy seems like a good word to use here.
I heard the front door open and noticed the Saintess walk in.
“What happened with the fight? Did you win?”
She shook her head. “As if I could win if he got serious. We came to a compromise.”
“A compromise?”
Instead of answering me, she walked over to the window and opened it. What came in was Thundernation’s head and two of his wire tentacle things. So that’s the compromise…
The Saintess asked him, “Is this fine?”
“YES, THIS WILL DO. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO EXTEND MY HEAD INTO ANY ROOM FROM HERE.”
A long wire attached to the head snaked out and came next to me.
“That’s a little creepy.”
“YOU’LL GET USED TO IT.”
I seriously had my doubts about that.

Prehistoric Barbarian
The future became a peaceful utopia in the Core Regions. No crime, no wars, no conflicts, even rude behavior is rare. People became complacent and lazy. The main character isn’t a hero or a typical protagonist. Calling him an… opportunist would be the least offensive probably. In this age, he’s sticking out like a sore thumb. Who would notice a few shady happenings when crime is a foreign concept and there is nobody to catch you? *Book 1 - Done.*
8 198GameWorld: Earth's Apocalypse
Be careful what you wish for. The old saying holds true for many people, but none more so than Jaxson Stratford. An avid video game player and reader of post-apocalypse novels, Jax always wished for the chance to attain power and abilities like the heroes of the stories he read about. Then, he received his wish in the form of The System’s arrival. However the truth of reality in this new System dominated world, is something far worse than he could ever imagine. This story is similiar to many others on the site, but the 'System' is something I've thought about for some time. That being said, it is still being fleshed out, so don't expect the story to be amazing, but rather an entertaining read.
8 218The Book of Conquest: Ouroboros
A mysterious man tries his best to enjoy the stories he read by actually going into one. Things never go as planned though, does it? These are the misadventures of a wandering womanizer and his attempts to be a 'hero'.
8 205The Girl Who Kept Running
He ran into her at street theater. She was a force of nature, not a casual first time hire. She brought the house down with her performance, literally pulled the audience to their feet in standing ovation. Her performance was too real, unnerving, deeply unsettling to him. He spent all his energy keeping up with her.At the end of the play, she snatched her earnings from the director's hands and ran away, leaving a trail of questions behind her, the most burning one in his mind was:Would he ever see her again?____________________This ongoing novel imagines a world that our younger generations inherit after a series of successive presidencies in the same vein as the current model. There is no need for erecting walls, as the biggest divide created by humanity - that of social class - takes care of a post modern segregation. The poor are literally marginalized into slum-like townships and tend to be of color. The names of these townships would be enough to tell you their story. The rich, well, remain happily oblivious in the big American cities. In this world find a mysterious girl whose identity must be hidden or she would be hunted down and a young street actor who falls for her intrigue. Discover how they survive, born into a society not prepared to give them a chance. For them, the dystopia came without an apocalypse. People believe in what they can see. They believe that all Weeping Angels are bad and they just want more years lost to feed from. Well you are correct, except there is one exception.
