Well, over the past week I've been doing a lot of thinking. The more I write this rewrite, the more it strays from the original, and the more I realize that doing my "keep up with this story until the rewrite catches up" strategy won't work. Because of this... and I really hate to do this, but I'm going to have to cut this story short for the time being. I'll be releasing the rewrite a lot faster than this for obvious reasons, but that does mean if you were all caught up with this story and wanted more content on this "timeline", it'll have to wait. I don't anticipate that the ending of book 1 of Precipice will be too different, but there will be dozens of minor changes along the way that'll make it hard to pick up if you've been reading this draft. As such, it is with a heavy heart that I've decided to cut this story off at the end of book 1 and mark it as complete. If you're reading this long after the change has happened, go on over and check out my rewritten story, The Precipice of Power. If you're lucky, it should already be past book 1 ;)

The Viadon Project: Extinction
In the year 2080, a group of fanatics believed that the world was going to end. In order to save the human race from extinction, a man named Damian Hunts created a time machine and travelled back in time to the Cretaceous Period alongside his fellow believers. They built a massive city on the continent of Laramidia, and named it Viadon. To keep their future generations from travelling back to a broken future, Damian and the Founding Families destroyed the time machine and created a their own version of history, completely leaving out the fact that they had time travelled, and that the Mass Extinction would happen thousands of years later. Two-thousand years later, the future generations of Viadon have no idea of their ancestors pasts, but things start to unravel quickly as Time Travelers come to warn them of impending doom.
