Chapter 43 : I'm actually this awesome!
The sun had finally set. The sight of Sun setting upon a horrifying black lake was something that one could never see in the real world. That was one of Maya's biggest charm. Even if players didn't enjoy the battle nor the activity, they could still be amazed by the scenery. It was similar to vacation, except that it didn't take much time and everything was a lot more amazing.
Ragna had finished hunting. Seeing the abundant amount of loots in his bag, he couldn't help but scream in joy. He was truly happy when he saw that all his effort could actually give him the benefits he deserved.
There was a huge amount of materials such as Lizard's skin and their body parts. There was also a few equipment that dropped. Even though none of them was Rare-ranked, they could still sell for quite an amount in the market. They were equipment ranging in level 20-27 after all.
Most of the player were still at level 20s, meaning that equipment in that segment were highly in demand. Of course, there was also another market for elite and pro players, even though their quantity was lower, the price was of course incomparable.
Level 35 equipment set compared to level 20 set? The answer was obvious.
The other thing that made Ragna ecstatic was the fact that he finally hit level 20!
Every ten level in Maya was comparable to leaping in strength. Players would get extra skills or have their quality improved when they reached the milestone. As for now, Ragna could finally learn the skill belonging to the earth-series for level 20 players, Boulder Smash.
The concept of the skill was to condense a huge boulder with high density and hurled it toward the enemy. Even though the casting time and the projectile speed was a bit slow, its damage was enormous.
As a close-combat fighter, Ragna didn't have any idea on how to fully utilize the skill. Unlike his other skill which had fast casting time, Boulder Smash was unusable in high-tempo close combat. The skill was meant to be casted by a Mage who was being guarded by a group. A player also had to somehow constrict the target's movement in order for the skill to successfully hit. In conclusion, the skill wasn't practical in a solo fight.

Wait.. Casting time?
Ragna looked at the casting time it required. Astonishingly, what he saw was only 6 seconds..
He rubbed his eyes in disbelief. He already researched the skill thoroughly. It SHOULD be 8 seconds!
Holy Sh*t!
The skill's casting time was discounted by the system? Only for him? For what reason?
He suddenly realized something and carefully looked at his other skills. He checked his casting time and compared everything to the information he got on the forums.
No way.
His other skills also had their casting time reduced by some amount. Quagmire was supposed to have 7 seconds casting time, but it became 5 seconds for Ragna!
The same was also applied for Earth Spike and Earth Wall. Both had their casting time reduced to only 4 seconds!
No wonder he was able to continuously use his skills in close combat!
Wow! I don't know that I'm actually this awesome!
One had to understand that one second of difference could result in a different outcome of a combat. By relying on his enhanced skills, Ragna could practically use his skill more freely.
The same goes to Boulder Smash, now Ragna had more opportunity to use it. Two seconds of difference was huge after all.
This sudden discovery made him speechless. Then, that expression changed into one of great joy. He knew that there's still another thing left that could further increase his mood. He hadn't equipped the Black Wolf Set!
Before entering the Astral Realm, Ragna had told Lily to find him the last remaining part of his Black Wolf Set. After selling the materials from hunting the Black Wolves, he could somehow gather enough gold to directly bought it from the market. Of course, a part of it was because Lily helped him in finding one that was below market's price.
Even though Lily was bad at selling her goods, she was an expert in buying items and ingredients. If not for that, maybe she would have run out of materials considering her huge amount of consumption for every experiment.
On top of it, materials from Level 26 monsters were currently selling at a good price. It was vastly different from the Bears Ragna had fought before. The prices for items and equipment in Maya were very expensive by now. Everything was because players hadn't been able to create the same item with more efficiency compared to the in-game AI Merchants.

Of course, there were also great players such as Silvers among players. Unfortunately, they didn't have the time to create puny items such as potions. To quickly increase their proficiency they needed to create more complicated items, one that would usually sell for exorbitant price.
Ragna quickly opened his bag and equipped all of his set equipment.
Shua!
Black light covered Ragna's body. His appearance changed from one of lousy beginner equipments into the Black Wolf Set. The Black Wolf Set was a leather equipment using the Black Wolf's fur as its main component. He was now adorned in a jet-black tight leather clothing. His well-toned robust body was much more apparent by now. In his arms were a part of the Wolf's head, emanating quite a pressure from its pair of closed eyes. Because of Ragna's innately cold figure, the Black Wolf Set's charm seemed to be increased further.
Awesome!
Ragna could see his own figure by opening the system screen. He could see that he had undergone a great change from his previous figure.
A notification screen appeared right after he equipped the set.
Ding!
You have equipped the Black Wolf Set.
Black Wolf's Boots (U) : Defense +10, Movement Speed +1
Black Wolf's Leather Armor (U) : Defense +15, Strength +5, Agility +5
Black Wolf's Leather Pants © : Defense +10, Agility +5
Black Wolf's Wrist Guard © : Defense +5, Strength +5
Set Bonus effect :
Two types of equipment : Movement Speed +1
Three types of equipment : Physical Damage +10
Four Types of equipment : Agility and Strength +5
Set equipment's worth was much higher than other equipment in its peers. The bonus effects were too strong after all. Just by assembling the sets, the bonus stats was enough to comprise a quarter of its full worth. Furthermore, a special option could appear on a set.
Ragna gained two extra movement speeds from the Black Wolf Set. Player's movement speed was a tenth of their agility stats. If he also counted the agility he gained from the set, the movement speed he got was a staggering amount of 4.5 points. That was equivalent to two third of his original movement speed. From this point only, he could run from the Lizardman without needing to be afraid of being caught.
Ragna was grinning from ear to ear while he muttered, "Hehehe I think this outfit lack something.. Aii, how could I forgot to equip my beautiful cape!", he slapped his thigh while laughing. If someone he knew from the real world saw his current figure, they would certainly gape in astonishment. It was.. too different after all.
He waved his hand while turning around and suddenly a black cape with a hint of crimson color appeared.
Shadow Wolf's Cape! It was his one and only Rare Equipment!
Even though set equipment was good, Rare equipment was still better. Just from its stats, Rare equipment was more than double of uncommon equipment's stats. Furthermore, there's also many special options which could only be earned from Rare equipment or higher.
The cape emanated a shadow-like aura which could conceal the user from light, increasing the difficulty of detecting its user. It was similar to one that was usually being used by assassins in middle age. Coupled with his Black Wolf Set, his appearance was becoming more and more identical to thief-profession branch.
He was satisfied with the result and didn't really care about his 'different' appearance. As long as the effect was good, he would gladly accept everything. He didn't have much gold after all.
It was at this moment that suddenly a shadow-like substance materialized from the cape. It enveloped Ragna's whole body and made him stupefied. The change was too sudden as if the cape was stimulated by something. Before Ragna could react, a notification screen appeared in front of him.
Ding!
Hidden Set unlocked! Shadow Wolf Set.

Falling from Earth
He won. He defeated Fate. He took his life into his own hands, the only way he knew how. He killed himself. ......................... He cheated. Fate cheated too. He didnt die. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm a amateur writer. English is my first language. I appreciate it when people point out grammar issues. I also appreciate constructive critiques. I'm writing this mostly because I've read so many novels on here that i feel that I should give back to the community. Will be at least a chapter a week. Every Friday. I keep a buffer of 3 chapters, so if i get on a roll and write more chapters, there will be more updates. My chapters will be at least 3000 words, prologue excluded. I'm shooting for more like 6000 words a chapter, mostly because i never like how small the chapters are in most novels on here. Not enough MEAT. Oh and comments that touch my heart get me excited to write. Just figured that out.
