Neran's POV (After Kuro beat him and the others up when they first met)

Sigh, what the hell is up with the others ‘find ways to get stronger’ they said’ ‘we need to be able stand strong on our own’ they said. Even Ren of all people left to ‘See things with a new perspective’, what does he need to see when we know that we need to stop bad people. We are strong when we stand together, that's how it's always been. Why would they want to separate. And what was up with that Kuro guy not wanting to tell me who he was! Understanding each other is important for comrades.

But no, he had to go and belittle me and call me a fool. All while spouting nonsense about us not being heroes! That guy makes me so mad! The others didn’t even want to help me stop him from going down a dark path and enslave people, saying to leave it be and stop messing around. How am I messing around! We were sent here to be heroes not take away people's freedom, I don't care what that Kuro guy says!

How can the Gods just let him enslave people too! This isn’t right! That Kuro guy must have done something to trick the Gods. There is no way they would let him do such a horrible thing. I’ll expose him and get the Gods to help me set things right. Then we can all take down those corrupt guys who are messing everything up in this world together.

I’ll just head to where Kuro is and show the Gods all the horrible things Kuro is doing to people and they will totally help me show him how he is wrong.

There it is, Birgen. Those rude merchants who said I was annoying finally pointed me to the city where Kuro is. After asking a few people who were traveling out of the city about a person with black hair living there to confirm it. I can say without a doubt that this is the place, and it only took me three tries to find the right city. Those maps are darn too confusing. Though I heard that there was a girl with black hair in Birgen and not a guy from a few people. Poor Kuro, to be mistaken as a girl, it may be why he is so cranky.

Hmm, now that I’m here though...how do I get in? Kuro no doubt put up something to keep me from getting in. So I’ll have to try sneaking in. Those walls shouldn’t be so tough to climb.

I was wrong! It’s a lot more difficult to climb than it looks! And why would the guards start shooting arrows for? Aren’t guards supposed to put people in jail after detaining criminals? How could they shoot without asking questions first? Will I have to charge through the front gate? They didn’t see my face so…

…

They let me through...does this mean I didn’t have to try climbing the wall? I thought for sure that Kuro would stop me from entering, what gives?

Whatever, I’m in the city now so now's the time to start finding evidence of Kuro’s wrongdoings.

I can see now why the Gods were fooled by Kuro. To build schools, libraries and playgrounds can really make one believe he has their best interests at heart. But he won't fool me, I know he is only doing this to fool everyone. Nobody who can enslave innocent people without batting an eye can do these things out of kindness. Just having kids practise various crafts under the guise of extracurricular learning is just a fancy cover up for child labor. That fiend!

If I can't find evidence around the town, than I’ll just have to get it from the source. At night, I’ll leave that inn with the nice beds and head to the estate that was said to be his home. Typical of him to live in the best area compared to everyone else. Just wait until I expose the truth!

I overslept. The beds at the inn seem to have a bewitching effect that prevented me from getting up at the intended time. I heard they were provided by Kuro, no doubt to bind people to their beds at night to stop them from acting out of his sight. This setback won't stop me though, I can just try again tomorrow. For now I’ll just inspect that restaurant with the amazing food at a great price.

“Kuro! {“Crap!” (Neran)} Come on, let's have lunch at moms restaurant, you spend too much time locked away with your experiments.” (Redheaded girl)

“You don't have to drag me into the building Illis, my legs work just fine.” (Kuro)

“But we can finally eat together, just the two of us together!” (Illis)

“Oi, don’t make it sound different than what it is.” (Kuro)

“But my mom said when two people go out together alone than it is a special time for them. So that means we are sharing a special moment, so don't ruin it!” (Illis)

“Your mother again huh, we’re just eating together. No need to get so worked up.” (Kuro)

“Mu~, Kuro doesn’t get it. But that's one of your charms right?” (Illis)

“Hmm?” (Kuro)

“Ah *cough*! Kuro did you finish the thing.” (Illis)

“[Her emotions are going all over the place]...calm down a bit. Here.” (Kuro)

“Ooh, pretty!” (Illis)

“Hey you two, ready to order? Woh, what a nice flower. Is it made of crystal?” (Waitress?)

“Kinda, it’s a dense glass that I enchanted with self repair. I plan on having buildings renovated with it so people can let the sun in without the draft and such. I made this bit for Illis to add to her collection of memorable objects.” (Kuro)

“Don’t say it out loud! It’s embarrassing.” (Illis)

“Heh, then make one for me too. One of those would be a nice decoration for the restaurant.” (Waitress?)

“No problem.” (Kuro)

That was close, I don't think he saw me. To think I would run into him here. Hmph and to see him hitting on woman with glass flowers. I bet those were bought from a store. Just wait, when I expose him for what he is, people like those two girls will be freed from his bewitchment.

“Oi, how long are you going to hide under the table! Either order something or let someone else take the seat.” (Another waitress)

“Ah sorry, I'll have today's special.” (Neran)

I've reached the estate but...damn, the whole place is crawling with guards. How am I supposed to get in there now?

Huh? Wait is that a toddler? What is a toddler doing out at night?

“Ah Nia, here to try and conquer Kuro again huh. A bit late today too, parents put up extra defenses?” (Guard)

“Un, I had to make a hole in the wall to get out.” (Nia)

“Hole the wall? Hahaha Kuro sure has his hands full dealing with you. Luckily I only have to prevent bad people from getting in. Are you a bad person?” (Guard)

“NO~!” (Nia)

“Than, I guess I can't stop you. Make sure not to rat me out alright.” (Guard)

“No way, Mister Guard is a friend and only bad people make friends get in trouble.” (Nia)

“That a girl, well I won't keep you any longer. Oh and Kuro made a bunch more traps along the walkways so be mindful of that kay.” (Guard)

“Thankyou!” (Nia)

What? He’s letting that little girl in? Wait is that cat ears on her head? Ah, no wait, this is the solution to get in! I’ll just have that guard let me pass through, just like her.

“Yo!” (Neran)

“What is your business here!” (Guard)

Eh, he looks a bit angry. No that just natural since I seem to have startled him.

“I was just heading over there to-” (Neran)

“That's a private area, step any closer and I’ll kill you! I’m warning you!” (Guard)

Huh? Kill? Wait but just a moment ago, kuh!?

“Scram or I’ll end you here!” (Guard)

I-I suddenly feel, heavy? No, I can’t think about what this feeling is, I need to get out of here. This guard is serious.

“Hmph, just some punk brat huh. Hmm?” (Guard)

“You again! How do you keep getting in here? I tripled the guards and made so many traps and everything!” (Kuro)

“Give up Mister Flower and let me sniff you!” (Nia)

“For the love of God {“Hmm?” (Amare)}!” (Kuro)

“Hehehe this always makes my day.” (Guard)

Damn, what the hell. That heavy feeling…

I...was frightened away by a guard.

Weak...that's what he said I was. No, I won't accept it. If I can't reach him now because I’m not strong enough. Than I will just get stronger so I can! Just wait Kuro, I'll expose the truth eventually!

yep he's cliche, but there is a reason for it and no I wont embellish him in the story. This is only to get you guys to understand his 'current' mindset for when he pops up way later in the story. Trust me when I say EVERY character has a reason for their actions. Remember the pervert who turned out to be a brainwashed drone with a fake personality. I wont spoil anything, just know that I'm not gonna head for the cliche route were he doesn't learn anything.
