After 10 hours of doing the 2 R&D projects, Pioneer has finally finished it and ordered a long list of new drones and facilities to be constructed as soon as possible. The core then looks at the base's reports on resources, facilities' and drones' condition and summarized new info, the drone army has done their job much better than the core predicted, they stocked up a lot of resources, both refined and unrefined types. So the core did not hesitate to order a ton of new drones and facilities along with a second colony to be built, it needed to push the expansion progress that it lost during its R&D focused session.

Now that the base is in a stable condition and will capable of going self-sufficient and self-improving automatically as soon as the two Nexus and EQF 8810 are built. The core decides to start a new and also very important R&D project, the core is going to rebuild the temporary body with all the newly discovered technologies and high-quality manufacturing processes currently available in the colony.

The core takes command of a small group of drones and orders them to come with it as Pioneer leaves the colony and goes through the small tunnel, since the core has taken the left route last time, this time the core will take the right route, which will lead it back to the old nuclear-glassed colony chamber area, the core thinks the area might have some interesting properties and a good place for growing Hirudocrystallus, after all, the thing does not seem to be affected by radiation much, and the chamber was full of refined material back when Pioneer 0 operated in that area, maybe the material is no longer refined and usable at the moment, but the Hirudocrystallus can take care of that and help Pioneer 1 reclaim all the lost resources.

The core also intended to find weaker Hivewarriors to test the drones' new modules on them too, since the drones receive their update and upgrade passively through the nanite system, the one going with the machine all have their hull improved and equipped with new modules too, each drones has 4 module slots, currently the one with Pioneer are running battle mode focused set up with the Battle Drones are equipped with an Active Protection Plating System module on its front left slot, a Tactical Light Ordnance Module on its front right slot and 2 External Mini Magical Reactor Modules on the rear slots. The General Purpose Drones are equipped with 2 Multipurpose Arm modules on the front slots, 1 Multi-Sensor Module on the rear left slot and Mini Data Processor Module on the rear right slot. The Data Relay Drones have all 4 of their module slots equipped with External Battery Modules and the Power Relay Drones have their module slots fitted with Mini Magical Energy Reactor Modules only.

Aside from the normal modules that have nothing special to speak about because they are just simple parts scaled up or down to fit the drone's needs, the two Active Protection System Module and Tactical Light Ordnance Module stick out the most as highly advanced and totally new products, one is a 40mm thick structural nanite shield coated with Ionic Electroactive SuperStructural Nanite on both side, the ESSN when receives high voltage electricity directly, it becomes 'hardened' and increases structural integrity of nearby standard Structural Nanite by 300% to allow the drone to survive powerful strikes that could easily rip through their shield and hull armour (30mm structural nanite all round thick) together when the shield is in passive mode.

The other module, the Tactical Light Ordnance Module, is a 40mm slow-firing machine cannon that shoots high-velocity rocket-propelled semi armor piercing high explosive munition that is capable of penetrating 24mm thick structural nanite block with ease before exploding violently as after armor effect, the SAPHE rounds are created with high lethality in mind to counter the bugs' hard carapaces and hard to kill trait. The core also developed low-velocity full metal slug shots for less-than-lethal mode too, but today none of the Battle Drone bring those metal slugs with them as their ammo racks are filled with SAPHE rounds only.

As all the drones are armed with extremely dangerous weapons, the core will have to be extra careful at choosing its target to mark them for the drone before they delete the target and quite everything around the target with extreme prejudice. Unbeknown to the core, today is also the day Pioneer will reunion with a certain lifeform who it once interacted with before.

Arc the Human's Hero.

Arc was checking his healed, but still bandaged wounds that he got from the battle against the Hiveravager last week when Erika and Lilica rushed into his tent to call him, both of them wanted to be the one who first informed Arc about the recently cleared tunnel and there had a high-paying expedition request near the guild receptionist's tent.

That was the actual thing from the conversation right after the door was opened, Arc's face turned into red mush after he got slapped by the girls as they noticed he was completed naked and was touching his bandaged body near the bed for some reasons, whatever reasons that was, Arc did not get a chance to explain nor beg for mercy.

"Ain't that a morning, ya?."

Thekeg holds back his laughter while speaking with the beaten up Hero while having breakfast together near the campfire, the girls are off doing shopping for potions and new magic scrolls at the moment.

"Ey, cheer up, at least no one kicked that soft part down there, eh?"

"I will be the first one to kick your soft part, Thekeg."

"Oh?. Big talker, aren't you?"

The dwarven and the Hero put down their breakfasts and begin wrestling around to settle their score as usual.

"Why you virgin midget!"

"Why you muscle head pervert!"

As the two fights each other and roll around the ground, other adventurers nearby begin to gather around to cheer for them both, this makes them even more excited as their friendly fight begins to get rougher as more people gather around and cheer randomly.

"AAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The fight stops immediately as Arc and everyone looks around to see who just screamed around like an idiot, there they see one the miner quickly running back to the camping site as fast as he could while sobbing, crying and screaming like crazy.

"What's wrong with him?"

Thekeg asks as Arc gets up and helps his dwarven friend while looking at the crazed running miner and the dark tunnel behind him, then one of the adventures speaks up to kill the silence.

"Maybe the bugs returned?"

"No...It's too quiet..."

Arc gives the adventure a quick reply before a mage casts a light orb at the far side of the tunnel to see what is it.

"I don't see anything..."

"Me neither."

Thekeg and an adventurer nearby mumble quietly as they look around carefully to find what made the miner gone half crazy like that.

"Look!...It's...That..."

Arc mumbles as he raises his hand up and points at a 4 legged green golem approaching the group from the far side of the tunnel, the thing reminds Thekeg and Arc of the horrid nightmare inducing creature they once met in the tunnel, this thing is much smaller and somewhat less scary, however.

"What's a golem doing-"

Before the adventure could finish speaking, another 4 legged golem appears, then out of nowhere, an army of unknown, 4 legged creatures appear, all of them have the same eerie greenish glowing eyes, some of them have purplish glowing lights around their jet black body, and all of them seems lifeless, there have no aura of the living coming from them even just a tiny bit, yet they carry no impure and evil feeling of an unholy creature nor a beast. It almost like they are related to the undead legend of the place.

As the leading the group stops, everything behind it stops as well, all motionlessly staring at Arc, The keg and other peoples who are stunted by the sudden appearance of the unknown group and the oddly heavy atmosphere of the place. Something is very wrong about the jet black 4 legged army and the 2 golems.

As the light orb fades away and the white light it produces dies out, Arc slowly reaches over his sword as he mumbles quietly.

"...Have we freed the devils from hell?"
