Arc the Human's adventure
Today Arc received a new request from the guild supervisor and guild master, a request that promises him not only fame and fortune for him and his companions, but also a request that will benefit the town greatly.
Arc was reluctant when he first heard what the guild master said, his experience with the adventure guild taught him that that kind of big shot quests always came with harsh requirements and tough challenges, not the kind of challenge that Arc and his party could take lightly, but the kind of challenge that could end Arc and his party's career, life even at worst, if they screwed it up.
Arc spent some time thinking about it and asked many questions regarding the request's conditions, objectives and rewards in detail. During the conversation, a woman made her appearance in the guild master's office where Arc and the guild master, guild supervisor was in.
Arc's heart was captivated by the woman's beauty as any normal man would, the woman looked young enough to be mistakenly called a girl in her late teen, her clothings were modest, pure and lady-like, had the girl not had the Symbol of Azuria, a symbol of religion widely known in Azuria Empire, Arc would have believed that the woman was a noble in disguise.
As the guild master greeted the woman, Arc found out that the woman was a priestess from the Empire of Azuria, she was also the one filed the request Arc and the guild master were talking about.
Arc and the woman exchanged their greetings and information regarding the request, it seemed like the woman was sent to the town to investigate the rumor of an undead ancient roaming around in the cave, Arc was told that the woman wanted to purify the undead's tainted soul and put it to rest as her duty of being a priestess from the Empire of Azuria and a member of the Merchant guild who saw potential in the town.

Arc did not trust the woman's words completely, as expected of an A rank adventure, as he knew if a problem involves women, business and possibly politic, it will be as mysterious as the question why even the greatest Sage could not always understand a woman.
But then Arc considered the benefits that the people would get if the undead threat was removed, and the big reward his party would get too. Arc could not pass one of the lifetime offers like this, and Arc was certain his companions would think the same. Arc accepted the request.
Now Arc and his companions are exploring the dark cave and looking for the undead with the priestess, a situation which supposed to be stressful and tiring, but in reality, his party seems very lively as Thekeg continuously trying to start a conversation with the beautiful priestess, and Lilica quietly sobbing internally whenever she looks at the priestess's prideful chest.
Arc on the other hand is just being Arc, acting as the party's serious muscle brain leader by taking the point and looking around carefully while thinking about some cool things to say to impress his team.
"Say, what did the ancient undead you saw look like again, hero-san?"-Asked the priestess as she uses a staff to make sure Thekeg is not standing right behind or next to her.
"An undying ancient draconian with a thirst for vengeance, spooky, huh?"-Thekeg was the one gave the priestess the answer as Arc looks back at the two before shrugging with a short sigh.
"We knew that the thing has 'Last survivor' and 'The ancient' as its two titles when I tried to appraisal it."-The elven archer speaks calmly as she catches up with the party and now walking behind the Priestess.
"That and the unreadable name, weren't they?. Did there have anything else worth noticing...Ah...Archer-san?"-The Priestess nods slightly as she withdraws her staff after noticing Thekeg has gone quiet, for now.

"It's Rena, just Rena is fine...What san mean, anyway?"
"Ah, you aren't a citizen of Azuria and never met one, right?. In Azuria, some of us have a habit of adding honorific tiles to the end of one's name when we address them, Rena. We used san when we speak with people of the same age and status."-The Priestess replies with a light smile as she explains the meaning of the word to the elven archer.
"...Hey, stop..."-Arc suddenly halts his party as he looks around while holding a torch, he then raises the torch up slightly and uses some of his magical power to make the torch's fire become bigger and lighter to have a better look at what above him.
"What the...So much bats."-Lilica comments as she looks at the large flock of demonic bats hanging on the ceiling, all quietly observing the group without any of them seemingly have interests in attacking them.
"...We did not encounter anything like this before...Too many yet too quiet...Some things feel off..."-Arc nods while speaking as he looks at Lilica for a moment before turning around to watch his front.
"Think you could call an Archon and bring down those demons, Lili?. That is a lot of experience and materials to collect, yes?"-Arc asked as he carefully brings his shield out while holding onto the brightly burning torch.
"Indeed...But before we provoke these bats, we should get to somewhere safer and out of the bats' reach, don't you think?"-Lilica replies as she looks down at Arc and the rest of the party members before nodding slowly.
"Just try not to make us a ticket to become a dry mummy. Ye?"-Thekeg finishes the conversation with a half-assed joke as he 'escorts' the Priestess and the 2 female Archers to safety along side Arc and Lilica before the bats got electrocuted altogether by the thunder spirit Lilica summoned after they moved out of the danger zone.
"Two thousand points, quite a lot."-Lilica comments on the amount of XP she just received from killing all the bats with the Archon as the Priestess raises her hand up slightly.
"Umm...If the bats did not focus on this area before, what chased them out to this area then?"-The Priestess inquires as Arc shrugs slightly.
"Maybe the undead thingy, how can I know?. This place is not fully explored by anyone after all."-Arc replies with a light shrug while shaking his head as he continues leading the team deeper in the dark tunnel.
Meanwhile, a certain bug holding the machine's head had been slain by an Earth Dragon, the giant lizard the machine discovered yesterday. The head was dropped and now resting in the middle of the dark tunnel, waiting for something to reclaim it as its visor sparks a faint light before going dark once again as the Earth Dragon knocks the head aside and leaves the area slowly.

Thank you for reading my first story, hopefully, the first of many to come. This will be my main story and is meant to help me practice and hone my skills as I slowly produce more complex ideas. It's a litrpg in which I want to only lightly focus on the mechanics as I don’t want to pad out the word count with math and number tables and while I want to add a few of my own twists here and there, overall I’m going to keep this story close to generic as possible so that I don't let my inexperience lead me into a corner. Thanks again to all willing to leave a review or some constructive criticism, without you I'd never improve. Unfortunately, Cover art is by me.
