《Game of the Mad God》Prologue- The last day

Jason opened his eyes hazily, as sunlight streamed through his window into his over decorated apartment. Everywhere you looked was a poster of some anime character or video game art. His furniture was mostly won from sweepstakes, and were one of a kind pieces.

Yes, he was the self proclaimed 'American Otaku'. Jason Delacroix, 22 years old, he would neither run nor hide. He used to seriously introduce himself that way. No doubt, if certain producers of a classic anime heard it, he would certainly be sued for trademark violations.

Jason rolled out of bed, yawning. If he had a little sister, now would have been the perfect time for her to run over, saying " Aniki, it-it's not like I made breakfast just for you or anything b-b-b-ut its ready. Y-you better be thankful!" Alas, his parents had deigned to make him an only child, which he hated them for.

As he got up , he did his morning exercises. He refuse to be some typical otaku, fat and sweaty, with weird looks on their glasses covered faces. Well... he did wear glasses, but that was it! He had to stay in pretty good shape, After all, What if he got into a fight after a card game? What if he had to run? What if a girl wanted to touch his firm and developed muscles? What if a shadowy organization began to hunt him down. He had to be ready for any such situation.

He began his day, starting with watching old episodes of Bleach and Naruto. He had been heart broken when bleach had been discontinued, even more so when Naruto had finished. One Piece was the only one that had not yet abandoned him in his springtime of youth.

After that, he watched the new episodes of several less known anime. He was almost done, when a mysterious deliveryman arrived at his door. Jason took his I.D out and grabbed a pen before opening the door, as he already was expecting several light novels. "Are you Jason Delacroix?" The man asked when Jason opened the door. Jason seriously hated stupid questions.

"No, I'm some one else who happens to live at his address, look like him, and I just happen to have his I.D card out.*sighs* Yes I'm Delacroix, my books have arrived safely I trust?" Jason asked inquisitively. The deliveryman shook his head. " This ain't no book kid, its a statue." he said, pulling over a dolly cart which carried a wrapped up, 1.5 meter tall figure.

"What the- I diddnt order this!" Jason exclaimed as the deliveryman pulled the statue into his loft. He already had a statue. Any other statue would simply pale in comparison. "Ain't my problem kid, I just deliver." And with that, the man was off.

"Dont worry Exia, this thing will never replace you" said Jason, patting his true statue. It was a three meter tall gundam. He had won it in an online poker match against an otaku in japan, and it was the crowning jewel of his memorabilia collection. Little did he know, he wasn't going to see that statue for a long time.
