Jacob lay in bed contemplating the plans for the day. Today they were going to try and take the fortifications the Sisters had put up. After that he had a meeting with his Advisory Council, then a Guild Meeting, then he could finally get some time to do some Mining and Smithing that had fallen to the wayside while he had been so busy leveling.
Mining and Smithing gave minuscule amounts of experience compared to Dungeon diving though, and it also earned his War Party members levels as well. Not to mention equipment, gold, and crafting materials for whoever needed them. Jacob dismissed his thoughts as he pulled up the Master Looter from yesterdays raid. Jacob whistled at the equipment they had received, but then again they had downed 8 Bosses on the run and only one had been unique. Jacob was tempted to do another run, but the Dungeon was locked to them for a week. The next group of 50 wouldn't be ready for that dungeon for a couple more weeks. Jacob was thinking about doing a run at the Ruins of Der'asla, but most of his War Party members were level 45, so it might be a difficult dungeon for them. It was a worry for another day Jacob thought as he pulled the ring he had received from his inventory.

Tunnels of Demise
Jacob, a Cohort of the First Legion, a Century of Dawn Guard, a Century of the Heart Guard, and thirty of the Seekers of the Dawn waited for word from the infiltration team. A dozen of the highest level Rogues in the Seekers of the Dawn were going to try and take the wall by stealth if they failed the Legion was here to back them up. Cathrine was also present with a squad of Deathwalkers, she had offered to send them as well but when Jacob reminded her that the infiltration team might be killed and that her people were locals. She understood his hesitance not to get them killed without a very good reason.
"We got a problem.' Darren stated as he dropped out of Stealth, 'We took the wall, but beyond that, there is a small cavern with an encampment. We have no idea how many War Slaves or Drow Warriors are present. We have no idea when they will check on their fortifications. Once they do, they will deploy to counter-attack and retake the wall."
Jacob nodded as he considered his options before turning to the Legion Captain, "Captain, send word of what we found to Captain-General Nadal Despval. I want three more Cohorts from the First Legion deployed to our location now. Your Cohort will deploy to secure the fortification, we will be staying to assist you in this endeavor."
The Human Captain saluted before turning and heading toward his troops, within 2 minutes the Cohort was advancing toward the fortifications less than 5 minutes away. The Dawn Guard and Heart Guard were quickly following them. It turned out to be a garrison made up of almost 1,200 War Slaves and a couple hundred Elite Drow Warriors backing them up. As soon as the fortification team failed to check in, they sent some runners to check out the wall and when they failed to come back, they mobilized and the Cohort was there to meet them near the mouth of the tunnel.
It eliminated their numeral superiority but allowed the mages to cut loose and devastate their ranks with AoE spells that weakened them before they engaged the Legion members. On the other hand, they not only had numbers, but they also had levels. The weakest War Slave Jacob analyzed was level 45 with the strongest he saw was level 54. He hadn't been able to analyze any of the Drow Warriors yet so he had no idea what level they were.
"We need to buy them some time to rest and recover. Ashley, I want your Mages to concentrate all their AoE spells right in front of the middle of the line of battle. Captain, as soon as those spells stop, I am going in with the Berserkers to break their line of advance and buy you guys time to rotate troops out.' Jacob told the Legion Captain who eyes the Dawn Guard and Heart Guard nervously, 'Captain I am going in with or without your cooperation. It would help immensely if I had it."
The man nodded as he started barking out orders as waves of fire, lightning, wind, and water slammed into the packed ranks of the War Slaves. The Legion member started moving immediately opening a gap in the line big enough for two people to fit through at one time. Jacob, six Berserker types rushed the gap before it slammed shut behind them.
Jacob activated Hemorrhage causing nearly 20 War Slaves already devastated by the concentrated firepower of a dozen mage types, to puke blood and die. Next, Jacob triggered Summon Fire-Elemental, Jacob could almost swear it whooped in glee as it began summoning a Fire Wall before switching to Firebolts and Cone of Fire. Jacob shook his head as he activated War Stomp, stunning all the nearby foes as he and his six companions went to work and bought the Legion time to fall back and reorganize. Jacobs' mad plan worked and it bought time for the Cohort to fall back and regroup. The forces of the Sisters of the Damned assaulted them for nearly an hour before finally breaking and falling back. By that time, reinforcements had arrived. With them, Jacob and the three fresh cohorts advanced and routed the remains of the small enemy army, they had left all their supplies, extra weapons, and tents.
When Jacob and the reinforcements got back to the fortification, the Legion Engineers were already hard at work tearing down and modifying the present fortifications. According to the lead Engineer, it would take them a better part of a week to make all the modifications they wanted. The Legion had lost 23 troops between the two small battles, another 40 would be recovering from the injuries for the next couple days.
Alert...
Through battle and conquest, you have received...42,736 Experience.
Alert...
Jacob dismissed the Alert as he listened to the discussion of the Engineers and Commander. Scouts had already been deployed looking for any Fortresses or troop concentrations belonging to the Sisters of the Damned. The Dawn Guard and Heart Guard were ready to head back, but Jacob wanted to stop at the City of Gahlin, to check on Ranyln Do'und and make sure he was still toeing the line.

"We purchased a Guild House in the Middle city, it cost us nearly 10,000 Gold. The Engineers we want to hire to upgrade and modify it want 2,000 Gold for the work. Once all the work is done, we will have a Teleport Pad, Armory, Vault, Small Workshop, Entry Hall, Dining Hall, Kitchen, and small training yard. The modifications will take about a week to complete." Tarren stated.
"How much does that leave in the Treasury for purchases and future expansion?" Jacob asked looking at around at the other officers.
"With all the Dungeon grinding and the recent raid, we still have just over 50,000 Gold left. We normally clear about 500 Gold a week in taxes. That will increase as the levels and numbers increase." The Guild Treasurer.
"Barty will start leading that 25 Man raid group to take on Broken Crown Keep next week. He has a good head for Dungeon Raids, that will increase our income a little bit as well as increase the level curve of the guild again." Anastasia informed them.
"Are we going to expand again? If so, when?" Yilme asked.
Tarren immediately responded, "We have 200 members now, the newest group is still climbing out of the Teen levels. Once the lowest member reaches 20, I think we should expand then."
"Are we going to cap the guild size? I don't want thousands of members, I want a core group of players I can trust and trust me." Jacob stated.
Darren nodded, "I agree. I think we should cap recruitment at 500 for now. Once we reach that level, we can start making alliances with other Guilds."
Regional Alert...
The Fortress of Draydon has been claimed by the Empire of Night
The Fortress of Artanges has been claimed by the Empire of Night
Regional Alert...
Everyone stopped talking and looked at Jacob, "That would be the two fortresses that are part of the Wall. If they are operational again, that means they and the Wall have been fully repaired.' That would free up the work crews for other projects and allow the Second Legion and Dead Legion to garrison the Wall finally. 'As far as the Guild Cap, I agree, 500 hundred is a good number. Not too many, but enough to make a point to anyone we cross or crosses us." Jacob finished adding his opinion on the matter.

Strangler
A jackass, a Muscle Wizard, and a woman who just wants to fish. In a Sword & Sorcery type of world, can the jackass be the hero he always wanted to be? Or will his mere presence ruin the lives around him. Main Character's Debt tracker added. What to expect: A slow paced story focused on the characters rather than the fate of the world. Weak Lead, his progression would be slow. Pathetic and dependent, I hate him. :) Upload Times: Tuesday/Friday 7:00Am CST (Would switch to MWF when I have more free time)

Gamer
I am making this story as a revamp, edit, and transformation of the legendary gamer into something that can be better related to. I have done some work on writing, and also put more work into preparing the introductory thoughts. I will have a bare minimum of weekly updates, but there may be more depending on how much time I have. This story will follow Gregory Jeffrey Drake, a young man whose life is partially micromanaged by his parents, and in time will come to be a powerful character in his own story. For now though, the main focus for Gregory is to grow and find his place in this new world he has been dropped into. Gregory gained a new type of class, and must use it if he hopes to stay alive and make the world a better place.
