Cavern outside New Dawn

Hyperion watched as the Zealots assaulted the walls of the fortress, hundreds waited for their chance to prove themselves to their gods. 6 Elementals watched anyone who came to close and more then one of the faithful got to close and were incinerated for their transgression. "So, is your great enemy here yet?" Oceanus asked with a smirk as his elementals threw another wave of ice toward the distant fortress.

"No, he is not, but I am sure..." suddenly Hyperions gaze swept back toward the fortress as he sensed several portals open and HE was here. Hyperion snarled and hurled several fireballs at the fortress as he started running toward the fortress. "JACOB LONGSTRIDER!! YOU SON OF A WHORE, COME OUT AND FACE ME!!" Hyperion roared as he charged the fortress. Oceanus rolled his eyes at his hot-headed brother while gathering the surrounding water elementals.

Fortress of the New Dawn

Pandemonium is how Jacob would describe the current state of the fortress. Fireballs and Ice Shards rained down on the fortress and from what Jacob could see the defenders were desperately trying to hold the wall. "Brox and Thardan, get your men on the wall and reinforce our position there! Thorgron, we will hold the gate." Jacob commanded as he led his War party toward the wall. Suddenly he heard a great shout from the distance over the sound of battle. Dam, whoever was yelling has to have a great set of lungs he thought as he ran toward the wall.

As Jacob and the Dawn Guard approached the gate it started bowing inward before suddenly exploding. Zealots started pouring through before the Dawn Guard arrived plugging the hole that the invaders had made. 6 of the War Parties started hunting down and killing all the Zealots that had managed to get through before the Dawn Guard stopped the flow. With the additional troops, the defenders were pushing the invaders back from the wall steadily. Hyperion gasped for breath, destroying the gate had taken more power then he thought. Several of the faithful started toward him but a snarl from him and the Elementals kept them back. He could feel the disdain from Oceanus for showing weakness in front of the mortals. Oceanus would happily tell the rest of their brothers and sisters how he showed weakness. They would never let Hyperion hear the end of it he thought as he snarled standing and drawing his two-handed sword heading for the breach.

Oceanus smiled at his brother back, he was always predictable and manipulating him to attack the mortal had been child's play. Ever little bit of energy he wasted here, meant he was weaker at the conclave. If this Jacob Longstrider could weaken Hyperion further...it would be even better. Oceanus pulled his spear from the ground and started walking after his little brother, his elementals following close behind.

Jacob kicked the Zealot off his sword causing 2 others to trip and fall. A mound of dead and dying lay around Jacob and Thelgrum, those that flowed around them died quickly at the blades of the Dawn Guard. Suddenly Fire Elementals pushed forward scorching both defenders and zealots in their rush to get to Jacob. Crossbow bolts and lightning slammed into them, Jacob rushed them attracting two of them toward him while Thelgrum picked up the other two. Suddenly the two elementals flowed around him toward the Dawn Guard, a large armored warrior with a massive sword on his shoulder filled the gateway.

Hyperion glared at Jacob who smiled and bowed mockingly at the Fallen God. Hyperion snarled at the mockery rushing the Vampire Lord intent on killing him. Jacob smiled as he met the Titans charge with his shield and nearly collapsed under the Titan's strength. "That is where you belong! On your knees mortal!!!" Hyperion snarled into Jacobs' face.

"I am sorry, but I don't swing that way." Jacob smiled as he lashed out at the Titans belly, spilling his blood and causing the Titan to roar in pain and anger. Jacob embraced his Vampiric side causing his eyes to blaze red, increasing his speed and strength. Jacob dashed toward the Titan leading with Moonlight as it glowed, it almost seemed as hungry and eager for the Titans blood as well. Jax watched as the lines solidified, the reinforcements had arrived in time to keep them from being overwhelmed. The wall was secure now and the zealots were being slaughtered as soon as the made the wall, it made no sense. Suddenly a solid wedge of Water Elementals gained the wall forcing the defenders back. The zealots rallied around the elementals but the defenders quickly responded pushing them steadily back with the assistance of several War Parties that responded to the breach.

The avatar of Oceanus stopped the defenders progress at pushing the attackers back. Oceanus laughed as his spear whirled and slashed but the combined strength of the defenders was slowly wearing the Titans avatar down and he would either have to withdraw or risk having the avatar destroyed. Time to even the odds, Oceanus thought as he slammed the spear blunt end down. Ice Shards exploded outward mowing down the front rank of defenders and summoning more Water Elementals. For the record, fighting a Fallen God in the flesh was not fun even with support. In other words, Hyperion was kicking Jacobs ass and without his War Party, he would have died already. Hyperion was bleeding and if he could bleed, he could die. So Jacob fought on, while the Titan raged blasting Jacob with fire or hitting him with a massive sword. Jacobs armor was gouged in multiple places and his shield was starting to crack from the force of Hyperions blows. "You thought to challenge me mortal? Even with all your friends, you will soon die." Hyperion laughed as he continued to attack the Vampire.

Jacob snarled at the Titan while desperately defending against attacks but he was losing badly when suddenly one of the straps holding the shield to Jacobs' arm snapped exposing Jacob to attack. Hyperion smiled as Jacob desperately tried to grab the shield but Hyperion kicked Jacob into the wall before slamming his sword through the Vampire's stomach. Moonlight slipped from his fingers as he tried to push the blade from his stomach but it only caused the Titan to laugh and start twisting the blade. Hyperion smiled stepping closer to the dying Vampire, "Only mortal."

Suddenly Jacob threw himself forward and activated his Bite ability, the Titan screamed in rage and pain as Jacob started draining him of his Immortal life. Hyperion immediately started slamming his fist into Jacob's body trying to get the Vampire off but his fangs remained embedded in Hyperions throat slowly draining the Titan of his life and power. "Brother!! Help me!!!" Hyperion cried out in real fear as he felt Jacob draining him.

Oceanus hearing his brother's desperate call immediately pulled back from his attack on the wall to go to his brother's aid. Oceanus had not heard desperation like that from a Titan since they had been kicked out of the Pantheon. Seeing the Vampire Lord feeding on Hyperion enraged Oceanus, he immediately summoned ice to incase his fist and slammed it into the Jacobs head stunning the Vampire while pulling Hyperion away from him. He tore open a portal pushing Hyperion through then following the other Titan quickly.

Jacob pushed the massive sword from his stomach, his wound healing almost immediately as the blood and power of Hyperion flowed through his body. He immediately dismissed all the Fire Elementals that had been fighting with the Zealots. Jacob felt like acid was eating through his body, he needed to get rid of it but he was stuck with it for the next 5 minutes. So Jacob turned toward the Zealots and unleashed the power he had stolen, Fireballs and Firewalls exploded among the Zealots army ranks. Between Jacobs new power and the continued attack by the defenders, the Zealots were quickly being slaughtered and the invading army being broken. The last thing he saw before darkness claimed him was several more portals open in the rear ranks of the army as the last of the reserves poured through and slammed into the attackers rear
