Fortress of New Dawn
Jax continued to stare at Jacob and the list before him, "Yeah, that and another 1000 soldiers. Time to level up...maybe?" Jacob glared at the warrior for his last comment.
"I will reinforce your position here as soon as some of the new recruits finish basic training, but the more advanced training will have to finish training here. Understand?" Jacob asked the warrior who nodded. "The people here are doing a good job, how are they doing recovering from what the Sisters did?"
"Slow, but they are recovering. Only time and maybe the destruction of the Sisters might heal those wounds. Some might never recover. I have never really looked at the slavery in Fate...we might have an uphill battle but I am glad we are doing this." Jax told Jacob who nodded.
"We might not be the good guys Jax, but that doe not mean we have to let evils slip by. It might take us months or even a couple years but we will grind the Sisters into dust." Jacob told the Steward while looking at the people who had been standing behind them. "I have to get back, as soon as I can find someone to relieve you I will send them. I will be transferring 400 units of wood as soon as I can and it should be here within the next day."
Fortress of Midnight
Main Cavern
Jacob watched as the various new recruits practiced various sword or shield forms, "Truly, our city must quiver in fear at your might." Jacob smiled and turned toward the Dwarf captain.
"Those men and women were slaves not even a week ago when Fortress Ill'Gargon fell to me and my allies. Personally, Captain, I would be more worried about your men surviving the coming battle instead of the 2000 new recruits that I have. Is that understood Captain?" Jacob told the Dwarf who blanched at whatever he saw on his face. "From what I can see, you and your men are trained to take care of street thieves and to make sure the peace is kept within Ineford. Not really trained to fight other armies so instead of criticizing them, you might try to learn and you might save some of your men." with that said Jacob turned and walked away toward the new Keep. Primitive Keep (LVL 1)
Garrison: 0/300
Durability: Main Keep 10000/10000, Wall 15000/15000
Description: The Primitive Keep is a walled Compound that can house several hundred people and is a fortified building. The previous building additions (Mess Hall, Vault, War Room, 2nd Floor, and Prison) have all been incorporated within the Keep. A garrison can be stationed here to increase the defenses and probability of holding the keep.
Bonus: Due to the use of Stone used in making a Ziggurat all defenders of this Primitive Keep will have an increased rate of mana regeneration (+5%) but due to being exposed to large amounts of Death Magic all defenders will also receive additional damage from wielders of Death Magic (-5% resistance to Death Magic).
Battle Display: Your Trophies from the Battle of the Dark Oak Grove of Midnight are now on display for all to see (Increases damage against the Sisters of the Damned Faction by 15% and increase Diplomatic efforts with enemies against the Sisters of the Damned Faction).
Cathrine was also happy that they finally had a bigger tub in their room, she had hinted more then one time she would not mind if he invited Chalxae, June, or Eiloma to join them but he was still enjoying his time with her alone. Although he was getting used to the idea of multiple women in his life on a permanent basis, he wasn't completely comfortable with it yet. He would be lying if he wasn't intrigued by the idea.
Jacob could see the new Paladins of Balance training even harder under the watchful eyes of Thelgrum. 20 people had come forward from the former slave ranks and had accepted whatever calling, 4 more were becoming priests of Balance. If the Paladins were ready, they would be a huge boon for the coming battle. So many things to do in so little time...

Underdark
Nadal Despval looked at his army, it was hungry and tired. Due to lack of food, it would remain so until they found a source of food somewhere along the march. The scouts had reported nothing but more of the Underdark, Darkfang Hold was 6 days away and Fortress Ill'Gargon was 8 days away.
"General, all the Battle Flags have been settled for rest but everyone lacks food. Do you have any orders?" the adjacent asked as he strode up.
"The deep scouts should be back within the next hour, make sure they are fed well before they bed down. Make sure the pickets are set at least an hour out." Nadal ordered as he strode toward his tent.
Fortress of Midnight
"Are you coming to bed husband?" Cathrine asked as her arms encircled Jacob from behind. It was long past the time he should be asleep but he worried about but he wanted to look at his people and make sure they were all ok. He did not trust the soldiers of Ineford or their leader. Based on what Jacob had heard from the Captain's own mouth and what his people had heard, he had nothing but contempt for Jacob and his people. Food was steadily incoming from New Dawn and the wood had been shipped to the other fortress.
Jacob turned and leaned back against the railing pulling the Banshee closer kissing the top of her head, "I am sorry if I am keeping you up, I am just worried. We will be going into battle against a strong army with troops I do not trust, led by an officer that has nothing but contempt for me." Cathrine grabbed his head and pulled it down for a kiss before stepping away and leading him back toward their bed.
"Your worries are mine, so do not try to downplay them. I will make sure the Captain of the Ineford soldiers is watched and if he does anything that would be considered as treasonous, he will be eliminated immediately. Now, rest Jacob. Please!" Cathrine told him as she pulled him into bed. He quickly pulled her toward him and kissed her before falling asleep.
