It was the middle of the night, An'dalia and Darui'n were sleeping soundly in their rented room. Tomorrow we would depart to some other unknown destination but right now it was the perfect time do to some experiments.

I crawled out of An'dalia's bed, went up the window and down in the back alley. I took my incredibly expensive ring and equipped it. Luckily the ring expands or shrinks to fit the wearer “fingers” so that a giant could equip a fairies' ring.

After equipping it, I opened it's configuration interface by selecting one of the 5 empty slots. There I had a complete list of all the creatures I had identified since the beginning of my adventure. Then hold and behold! No humans!!!

That's why I had taken care not to use “identify” on anyone in town. Then what I found while browsing through the list was remarkable. High Humans!... That is why they were so similar to elves... Also why they were hiding their race with an item.

For those who don't know, High Humans aren't “junkies”... They are a superior race of humans who are somehow related to elves as well. Sadly they are on the brink of extinction, they wanted to keep their blood pure but ended up depleting their gene pool... (Personally, I call them Aryans... Urgg...)

So I then selected for the first slot, then for the second. For the 3rd I hesitated for a moment... I wanted a body that can fly but was unsure if I should wait to identify a more fearsome flying creature or simply pick a crow for it's stealthiness...I think for now I will simply wait.

Note that you won't get the species/races abilities but only their appearances, and people will be able to see what is your true species/race with the identify command.

Having done that I then tried morphing into a High human by selecting the 2nd morph. My body swelled, contorted and finally took a human appearance. It was really dark outside so I could barely see my human hands and my long golden hairs hindering my vision.

Yes, this familiar feeling, I could immediately control this body perfectly since it was my original form after all. I did some stretches and ran a few meters before realizing I was naked. Damn, can't go take a stroll without clothes...

I didn't realize it was this cold outside as well... My sausage was insultingly small... I don't have body or pubic hairs like the princess, must be a racial trait... So maybe the small wiener is also a race thing? I couldn't help but laugh while imagining Darui'n's.

I made sure my skills still worked by using [Venom Spit]... This ring truly is a masterpiece. Then thinking of something I quickly touched my forehead. Crap! That damned ruby stone thingy is still on my forehead! I will need my long hair or even a bandanna to hide this thing... Sighhh Feeling satisfied, I turned back to my original form.

I then allocated my 184 unused skill points evenly in strength, resistance, intelligence and some in vitality as well. Satisfied, I closed the interface.

This was the confirmation I hoped to get. I finally understood the gist of it. The reason I couldn't find any information on the subject on the internet was quite obvious really. This system have been made by father exclusively for me...

After all i'm the only one who can play as a monster... So there's no interface for it, simply game mechanics. The way it work is amazingly complex yet simple.

Let's start by the basics.

Monster drop: (Small monster stay intact as “ingredients” with some exceptions.), (Medium and big monsters dissipate and can drop items like meat, skin, fur, claws, teeth etc. even rare and valuable items, depending on the species and other exceptions like named monsters.”)

And sometimes they will drop a “monster core”... Now this is a 1% drop. But actually in my case I always receive the energy from their cores. The EXP I gain from them IS their core energy. But even more than that, it's treated like something similar to DNA by the system.

Simple example: You gain 500 EXP by killing a bird, and 500 EXP by killing a fish. Then you have 50% chances to get a monster rank up related to a bird and 50% chance to get one related to a fish... If the fish could use a water attack, you have a 50% chance to get a variant capable of doing the same...

It gets very complicated but that's basically how the choices work. The system will also take into consideration how you have built your character... For example: A lot of points in “speed” will give you choices of faster monsters.

Then there's more! The system also “reads your mind” and take what you want into consideration. The fact that I really like dragons is the cause for all these “giant fire monsters”... This time it's a titan fire crocodile... Sigh... The “unique” species are usually created exclusively for you, based on your desire.

I hadn't had any monster rank ups recently because I didn't feel the need for it... Ok!ok! I didn't want to become too big to fit into the canyon... But the Morph Ring fixed that problem. So as soon as I got the ring and confirmed it worked perfectly, I simply needed to wish to rank up... And voilà!

I need to be sure to have enough EXP-DNA before ranking up again if I don't want any crappy choices...

Ok quickly analyze all the options, deduce what they have to offer and compare. I need to use all my brain's “processing power” to pick the best choice for my future plans. Right now I am “built” like a spell-casting monster, yet I am lacking magic attacks...
