《Teaching Heroes of Might and Magic》Chapter 18: A Father

I sat there for seven days straight.
My back ached, my mind was reeling from exhaustion and my body was numb.
For seven days I had not moved in the slightest.
Sasha sat comfortably between my legs as I sat on the edge of the bed. This position was no longer as comfortable as it was seven days ago.
If it was only standing still for seven days I wouldn't have been so uncomfortable, but the little monster was devouring my essence as well.
Not just my mana, she was devouring my aura as well. I was barely hanging onto my consciousness.
If it was not for the fact that the breakthrough would let her cleanse her trauma so she could finally look forward in life, I would have long since moved.
As important as cultivating was, it wasn't important enough for me to go through seven days of hell.
But if it allowed her to finally cleanse herself of her painful memories, I would go through more than just this for her.
I forced myself to stay awake so that I could witness her born anew, and I managed to do just that.
As Sasha leaned against me, suddenly a humongous white light burst out of her shrouding the temple fully in light.
I felt an uplifting feeling suddenly enter me, cleansing my body completely and removing the bottleneck I had for both my Magus and Immortal self.
I immediately broke through to both Rank 7 as a Spirit Practitioner and Rank 6 as a Mageling.
Sasha on the other hand was now hovering in mid air as her body slowly changed in front of me.
No longer was there an adorable little 10 year old, instead in front of me was now a cute little 13 year old.
She was now taller by at least a foot, compared to before. I think she was now roughly 145cm.
I think that was a decent height for someone her age. Wait. She's barely nine, but she looks 13. Shit, I forgot that cultivation changes you as you advance.
She may be nearing her 9th birthday, but spiritually she was at least 13 and probably closer to 15.
Shit. I wasn't ready for this. Fuck. I'm not even 26.
How was I supposed to deal with an adolescent daughter. Wait. Calm down. She is still nine. Even if she is mentally 15, I won't have to deal with her problems for at least another few years, or at least until she broke through to the next rank, which was Magi.

I sighed in relief over a hypothetical situation.
Calming my nerves, I watched as her body finally settled down and the light began to disappear.
Before me was an extremely cute girl, I guess for her age, she is what one would consider perfect.
Her body had begun to mature slightly, and her hair which was originally very long, was now even longer. It was longer than her height. Looking at her dangling from the air, it was at least 2 or 3 metres long.
She looked as if god of craftsmanship decided to hand craft the most adorable girl in existence. I'm sure she was now a middle school boys, and to some extent a high school boys dream girl.
To me, she simply looked adorable. She slowly descended from the air into my embrace.
She was drenched in sweat and her body was releasing an overwhelming amount of power.
Holy fucking shit! Now that I was feeling her power I was flabber-fucking-gasted.
She originally had 13 times the power somebody her level should. Even if you timed that by 9 she should only have 117 times the power of someone her own level.
If she had that, she would be a terrifying force of nature.
But no, not only did she not have 117 times the power, she had 130 times the power.
She not only mastered the 'Art of Majesty' to its apex, she had gone above and beyond and instead of getting the epitome of 9x the power, she got 10x the power.
I can't even... I don't know what to say.
Did this girl think her master wasn't inadequate enough, she decided to take it a step further to make herself even greater than me?
Holy fucking shit.
I don't know what to think.
130 times her own power! That was... I don't even know how to calculate that. How the hell did one calculate that?!
Fuck it. Forget it.
No point in worrying how monstrous she was.
I had to clean her seeing how dirty she was at the moment. Her clothes were all dishevelled, her hair was unordered, she was covered in sweat and an icky gooey substance, which I think was the impurities in her body.
Nonetheless, I carried her towards the bathroom in a deadpan manner as I was still reeling from the shock the girl had delivered upon me.

I went into the bathroom and laid her at the edge of the tub as I quickly filled it with hot water. I then brought out a few towels which I drenched in hot water.
I quickly removed her clothing and placed them in a corner where I could burn them later.
Placing her gently on a wet, hot towel, I quickly began to wipe her body down, removing all the dirt, sweat and impurities she had ejected from her body.
I don't think a teen girl wants a man to see her naked body, but I had become a father to her over these few years we had been together, and she had become a daughter to me.
Wait... I don't think a teen girl wanted her father to see her naked either. That would be very embarrassing experience to her.
Nonetheless, although it might not be the best thing to do, we didn't really have another female in the household and I don't think she wanted to wake up covering in filth.
If she got angry at me afterwards, I'd accept her anger.
After a few minutes of cleaning, she was now sparkly. I quickly went upstairs and got a pair of clothes from her wardrobe.
I wasn't sure which one she liked the most since she had a few dozen, so I casually picked out a one piece dress that went up to her knees.
Going back downstairs, I quickly dressed her and picked her up and then walked back upstairs towards her room and slowly laid her in her own bed.
I covered her in her blanket before I slowly sat at the edge of her bed and gently caressed her head.
She looked so peaceful and happy.
It may not be within my power, but I hope I one day possessed enough power to ensure that she can always have such a serene look upon her.
She tightened herself inside her blanket as she nuzzled against my hand caressing her head.
I sighed as I thought how peaceful this situation looked.
It made me forget all of bad memories since I had come to this world.
This peaceful, little moment made me truly, very happy.
It made me wonder if I hadn't come to this world, would I have someday back on Earth one day get married and have my own children, and if I had a daughter, would I truly be as happy as I was right now in this moment?
I don't know. I didn't know how to answer such a question.
All I knew was that in this world, I truly did view Sasha as my own blood and life child. I truly loved her as my daughter.
After we all we had been through together in this world, she had become the only person I had truly come to trust. The only person I had truly come to love.
She was what made staying in this alternate reality full of darkness so bearable.
I suddenly remembered my own fathers words to me when my older brother had asked my father whether he loved us boys more, or my sisters more? His words were 'I love all of you children equally, but one day, when you have your own children you will become men, but you wont become a true father until you have a daughter'.
We had taken his words in jest and laughed it off, thinking how could there be a difference between a daughter and a son, but I guess I had finally found out.
I guess I really had become a father.

Hey guys, Old man here!
Sorry about the late chapter, I was supposed to upload it 6 hours ago, but I slept in for far longer than I thought I would (I slept in for 5 hours, and just got up).
Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy the chapter! I'll be wrapping up the emotional period of Sasha and Zev, and I'll be beginning the next arc very soon!
The next arc may have a bit more comedy in it than usual, but it'll fit the arc. So till then, Adios!
Love and Peace,
-Old Man
P.S. I may try to become like those Xianxia writers back in China, who manage to unleash dozens of chapters a months. I will try my best, to boost my weekly chapters from 3 all the way upto 14! HueHueHue. That probably won't happen, but do expect 5+ chapters a week from now.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com
