《Devil Cultivator in an Ability User World》(Rewritten) Chapter 7 - Testing out the New Abilities

Damien was walking to where he was going to practice but before he made it there he turned around and made a quick trip to his room.
As Damien entered his room he lay down on his bed and thought of ways he could use his Physical Augmentation and Concentration ability, or PAC ability for short.
It didn't take long to think of a few ideas and he sat up before opening the bedside drawer beside him and brought out a black tablet and turned it on showing a logo with the words "Meta Corporation" on the tablet's screen.
As the logo disappeared the device showed the home screen for the tablet, Damien clicked on a box that opened up an empty folder which he then named "Physical Energy Combat" before he started putting down the ideas he'd been thinking about just. Once he'd finished that he thought about how he should go about testing them, so he looked for the easier one to test, and his eyes were instantly drawn to 'Concentrated Step', looking at it he decided to go test it out.
Picking up his tablet, he went out of his room and got on his way toward the back courtyard again.
On the way there he thought he might as well test his thing, something he'd called 'Concentrated Step' he theorized that if he used the Physical Energy in his body and directed it into one of his legs and through his foot, he would be able to put his whole body's strength behind each of his steps.
So he tried it. Damien closed his eyes and let his instincts lead him to the energy from his ability.
It took a bit of time to find as the energy wasn't in one set place, it seemed to be distributed throughout the body's cells evenly, like some kind of cell power.
Nonetheless as he'd found it, he casually drew it out and was surprised by what he felt; Pain. A lot of it.
Damien stopped drawing out the energy almost instantly and looked at the damage caused. The muscles surrounding his bones looked as if they'd been burned by something and the bones themselves had tiny cracks running throughout them.
'I didn't even draw out 2% of the energy and it did this to my body? This energy is...interesting, completely different from Qi.'
If Qi felt like water or gas traveling through his body, then this energy felt like electricity or fire traveling through his body; explosive and volatile.
From the feel of it, however, it seemed to be much better at temporarily enhancing the body than Qi. Qi was a Jack-of-all Trades kind of energy, it could reinforce the body, weapons, it could power formations, it was used to activate martial skills but because of this versatility it was weaker one-on-one compared to any kind energy focused on one of those things.

Clearing his head, Damien stopped thinking about this and concentrated on the situation at hand.
After letting himself heal from the damage, Damien tried once again to draw the energy out but used his expert energy control and drew around 1% of the energy out. His bones were shaking and his muscles hurt but they kept intact and didn't tear, burn or crack like the first time.
A smirk stretched across one side of Damien's face.
'Let's try this then...'
Damien thought about the risks but shook his head, preferring to go head-in first and sort his problems out as they appeared.
'Sometimes you gotta run before you can learn to walk, right?'
With this, Damien moved the energy toward his leg and feet muscles before merging the energy into them. Damien's leg muscles bulged and his veins bulged like tiny snakes under his skin. The power Damien was feeling in his legs was phenomenal.
Usually, when Damien ran, he could only use his leg muscles, like most people, but right now it felt like he was using every muscle and bone in his body in tandem with the muscles and bones in his legs. It was a peculiar feeling.
Damien leaned forward onto his toes, feeling the power collecting there, like each of his toes was a leg of its own.
He shook his head one last time before pushing off.
*Whoosh!*
The wind rushed passed Damien's ears as he was thrust forward down the hallway, the speed miles better than if he pushed off on his own. An excited smile spread on Damien's lips as he pushed another foot down to carry on the run.
*Whoosh!*
Every footstep was full of power, brimming with an explosive force which shook, even slightly cracking, the wooden floorboards under his feet. Damien looked ahead and saw the corner for the hallway but he didn't slow down, no, on the contrary, he sped up.
The corner was approaching at faster and faster speeds but Damien's smile never left his face and just as he entered the corner he jumped and maneuvered his body to be perpendicular with the wall to his left. He thrust his feet toward the wall and pushed off of it with enough strength to crack the reinforced stone wall slightly.
*WHOOOSH!*
Damien shot toward the courtyard doorway at the end of the hall. Unfortunately, Damien hadn't thought up a "slow-down" plan and with the glass pane door getting closer and closer in Damien's vision, he did what he had to do.
He slammed his feet into the ground to stop himself. And surprisingly, it worked but not after a horrendous screech and nearly ripping a rug in two.
Still feeling the power in his legs, Damien brought the energy from his legs and released the empowerment on his leg muscles. As soon as he did so, he felt the cold floor under the skin of his feet causing him to look down at his feet in confusion.

Looking at his shoes, or more accurately, what's left of them, Damien guessed that the power of his steps must have been too much for the shoes. He didn't know what he was expecting from them, looking at the shredded shoes he felt he might have wanted to take his shoes off before testing such an ability.
Damien sighed with a helpless smile on his face, he took off both his shoes and just went outside in his socks.
When he was outside he found the trees towards the back of the garden, they were massive things. So big, that even if two grown men wrapped their arms around it, they would barely wrap around it.
Damien walked up to one of the trees, got into a fighting stance and threw a casual punch at the thick tree.
*Bang!*
A deep indentation was imprinted into the tree's bark with half of Damien's fist was buried inside the tree. Damien nodded at this and summoned the energy again and this time he directed it toward his entire right arm.
Letting out a deep breath, Damien drew back his empowered arm and threw a solid punch straight at the center of the tree.
*CRACK! CRUMBLE!*
The tree broke in half with a massive boom of sound, Damien looked up at the feeling half of the tree and sent another punch up toward the falling half of the tree but with an idea in mind.
*BOOM!*
As his fist came into contact with the tree, he dispersed the energy in his arm through his fist and into the tree. As soon as the energy entered the tree, it shattered apart and the wood chips sprayed all over Damien's smiling face.
"Hm, seems that by controlling the physical energy and forcing it into an object can have devastating effects...but it takes a lot of concentration to do it quickly and making sure I don't do it wrong is already killing my head." as he spoke to himself softly he rubbed his forehead while he wondered what would happen if he dispersed the physical energy in a controlled manner, instead of just forcing it into the tree.
Figuring there was no harm in trying, he walked up to a tree that was right next to the one he punched and made a knife hand and enforced his hand with physical energy before thrusting it at the tree--
*SLICE!*
--As soon as Damien thrust his hand into the tree and released the energy in a focused way, no noise was made other than the slicing of the wind around the tree and the tree itself being torn apart.
The tree was in one piece but Damien's hand had traveled all the way through the tree and was fully embedded in it.
'So I can either fully obliterate something or pierce it? It's a start. I'm fully confident I can expand on this to be a powerful ability.'
As Damien thought this with a smile on his face, he couldn't help but feel oddly tired, it was less of a physical fatigue and more of the mental variant. He wondered about it for a while before figuring he pushed his concentration a bit far with that last strike before he went back to his room where he went to meditate and see how his Devil Cultivation was coming along.
Sitting down, Damien calmed his mind.
As he looked inside himself he saw a strand of unbelievably pure Devil Qi leave his heart and travel around his body seemingly looking for something. Then when it was at a random point on his body, it stopped and started to spin like a drill before it started excavating a node of some sort.
This is what the Body Remolding Realm was all about, those nodes were called Devil Nodes, during the Body Remolding Realm your goal was to make strands of Devil Qi as pure as you could and then send them to look for Devil nodes to light, these nodes increase everything about a Devil Cultivators body, each node increases the cultivators body strength by 1000kg.
He'd already lit 2 nodes back when he was in the Blood Cocoon and his original strength was 2500kg before the change to his body from the DNA injected into it. After he got the Devil Limiters and DNA his body strength was increased to 3500kg and with the leftover energy his True Devil Heart, which gained a small amount of sentience from reaching Initial Success, Damien lit two nodes up giving his body the strength of 5500kg.
As the Devil Qi strand fully excavated the node it lit up with a red and black flame that gave off energy that spread from the point of the node to the rest of the body strengthening it and remolding it to be better, and after a few seconds of strengthening and then remolding, he has an extra 1000kg in strength making his overall body strength 6500kg.
As Damien clenched his hand, he felt the power coursing through him and smiled, loving the feeling of getting stronger.
'I should probably cultivate at night while I train my abilities during the day, gotta make sure I'm in a suitable condition to meet my classmates for the next few years to come~'
As he decided this he got to stabilizing the node that was just lit, making sure his foundation for cultivation was steady and stable as a mountain, after he did that he got onto going through the long process of lighting a Devil Node.
