《Devil Cultivator in an Ability User World》(Rewritten) Chapter 3 - Addition to the Family, Birthday and Start of Training (Part 1)

3 years and 9 months~
Over the years Damien had been collecting information and letting the Devil Seed in his heart temper his body and improving both his strength and his aptitude towards Devil Cultivation, all for this moment, his 5th Birthday, when he can finally start training and cultivating Devil Qi.
A brief rundown of the last 3 nearly 4 years would be that he has been absorbing information like a sponge and because of this, he's been constantly praised by his parents and the servants his family employ to the point that even though he slightly enjoyed it at first, now all it does is annoy him
'It's always "Genius that" or "Genius this" can they not at least change up their compliments and flattery? There's only so many times a person can be called a genius before it really starts to lose its kick, oh well, I better get ready for my party that my Mother and Father have been putting, what seems to be, their life essence into...'
As Damien walked out of the Bathroom and into his room he caught his look in the reflection of the mirror he kept in his room, what looked back at him and met his gaze was a 5 year old youth who was quite a bit taller than other people his age, so much so that he looked at at least 8/9, he had tanned skin and a clear complexion, he looked up towards his face and saw a handsome yet immature face with strands of midnight black hair falling over his face, with the rest of it either going to the left of his head or to the right or back of his head, but the place where his concentration was mainly placed on was his eyes
'These eyes are incredibly weird. Even though I know a lot of people in this world don't have "traditional" colored eyes, with some people having Purple eyes and some have Red eyes but after looking on something my parents called the Internet, I haven't seen anyone else like me who has Bright Yellow Eyes.'
As Damien looked at his Yellow Eyes, he couldn't help but compare them to the Ferocious beasts he'd encountered in his last life, they gave off a beast-like feeling, like they were the eyes of a predator and most people Damien had asked what they thought of them, only his Father gave him a proper answer without tiptoeing around what he really thought
"Son, you're eyes give me a sense of fear even though I know I have nothing to fear, the only thing I could compare it to is having an Apex Predator looking at you through some trees in a dark forest"
Damien looking back on what his Father said thought his eyes were pretty cool. As he admired his new body that admittedly was much better looking than his last body, he realized he was wasting time and that if he didn't hurry up soon, he'd have to face the wrath of his whole family-
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
"Big Bro! Are you ready? Mommy said she'll come and dress you herself if you're not done within the next 5 minutes and I'm not afraid of getting her a few minutes early if you don't do it now!" a high-pitch voice nearly screeched through his wooden door.
Damien's face darkened as he remembered a dark day when a demon was born. About 2 and a half years ago his Mother and Father had another child, a girl, they named her Sara.
'Speak of the Devil and she shall appear...'

Damien sighed before suddenly starting to throw his clothes on as he realized the weight of the situation. His clothes for today's event was a custom black suit and tie that looked particularly dashing on him.
Realizing how quickly he was putting his clothes on after that threat from his little sister, Damien came to a grave understanding.
'...It seems I'm scared of my mother and not because I think she'll kill me if I'm not ready within 5 minutes but because I think she wants me to get dressed late so she can come to help her "Cute Little Angel", as she calls me, get ready...she's scary in her own weird way sometimes...'
"I'm getting ready Sara, don't get Mom, please! I'm pretty much ready!"
'Sadly, my little sister is way more mature than she should be for age, like what 2 year old knows how to blackmail someone?! My parents must be proud, they've birthed 2 mature prodigies!'
As Damien had just finished his tie, his little sister burst through the door, with her Red hair done in two ponytails and her green eyes curiously looking around the room, she gave off an innocent and cute air, although if you asked Damien, it's the air of a demon looking to cause trouble
"What's taking you so long Big Bro?"
Damien glared at her for charging in like that but as she's his sister, he dropped the glare pretty quickly, and smiled at her and said while reaching out his hand to hold his little sister's
"I'm finished now, let's go, before Mom gets here, okay?"
Sara quickly smiled and nodded before latching onto Damien's hand and arm like she was afraid he was gonna run away without her. Damien smiled while looking at her doing this, although they had their arguments and she always seemed to be looking for ways to annoy him, they were still siblings and Damien would always look after this Sister of his as the relationship they held between them was something he'd never experienced before and something he'd come to enjoy, even if she did annoy the living hell out of him.
After a short walk they soon arrived at the dance hall of the mansion they lived in and inside there were, of course, his Mother and Father and also the servants the Nether's house employ, but other than these people, there were plenty of people dressed in fancy dresses and suits filling the hall.
As Damien and Sara walked over to their Mother and Father, who were next to this extravagant group, they caught the attention of all the people in the Hall and as they were walking everyone started clapping and cheering, as per the proper etiquette taught by his Mother, he smiled in an amicable manner and did a slight bow of thanks towards them before carrying on towards his Mother and Father and when he got there, before he could say anything, his Mother spoke
"Ah, you're finally here! If you took any longer, I'd have to make a trip to come help you quicken things up!" his Mother teased him and surprisingly he blushed, Damien sighed cursing his young body for effecting his mind and making him susceptible to teasing.
Not seeming to care that her teasing had made her son embarrassed, his Mother carried on speaking "Damien, we're about to go see some friends we haven't seen in a while and we want you to come along because we want to show off our excellent son!" His Father also added in an attempt to convince him to come "They also have a daughter, maybe you'll both like each other and become friends~"

Damien felt helpless, he was going to go even before what his Father said and now he has to agree anyway and it's gonna look like he only did it because his Father mentioned a girl, oh well, he was the Devil King of his past world, he can just block out his embarrassment for his parents just this once.
"Okay, I'll come, lead the way, Mother, Father"
Damien smiled a charming smile and said to his parents in a serene and calm way
As they started walking over his sister suddenly tightened her hold on him, afraid the girl he was about to meet would take her Big Bro away, as she did this, Damien sighed and shook his head with a helpless smile and he carried on walking with his little sister practically hanging off his arm
POV Change - Selena
'Hmph, why did I have to come here? I could have been at home relaxing and reading my story books but I'm here, standing about at some boy's party who I don't even know, even if Mama and Papa know his parents, why did they have to drag me along?'
Selena was standing with her arms listlessly hanging at her sides, not having any enthusiasm about this party she was at whatsoever, she occasionally brought one of her hands up to brush away the strand of her Light Green hair that fell onto her face but that was the only real movement you'd see from her, it was clear to anyone that she wanted to be at home instead of this party.
As she was doing this her Father and Mother came up to her and told her to at least show some enthusiasm because the boy was coming over with his parents
"Selena, make yourself look at least a little bit happy if you can, okay honey?" Her Father asked with pleading eyes before carrying on "We need to show Lara and Charles how good our daughter is, can you at least try for that? If you do, I'll get you plenty of storybooks on the way back home!"
Hearing this, Selena's eyes lit up with excitement and in an instant, everything about her changed, her listlessness became enthusiasm and joy while her indifferent face had a small smile upon it which gave her an innocent and lovable atmosphere, she seemed to exude cuteness
Her Father and Mother both looked pleased when they regarded their daughter, her Mother let out a happy sigh
"Truly, you are such a beautiful girl Selena, I hear that Lara and Charles have a son called Damien, I bet he'll be enthralled by your beauty!"
Her Mother and Father both laughed when they realized that Selena was embarrassed and before she could retort that she doesn't care if that boy likes her or not, she heard a deep and soothing voice call out from behind her
"Thomas, Charlotte! It's great to see you"
She turned round to see a family of 4 walking towards them, she looked at the person she suspected to be the person who just called out and saw a tall, well-toned man with long black hair that reached his shoulders, he had green piercing eyes, he had tan colored skin.
Next to him was a beautiful woman with Red hair that reached her chin and Blue eyes, her skin was pale and spotless like it was blanket of snow, Selena looked down and saw a little girl who looked to be around 2 or 3 with Red hair like her Mother and Green eyes like her Father, she looked like the perfect mix between her parents, she looked very cute and lovable, even though Selena wasn't enjoying this party, she had to resist the urge to run up and hug the cute little thing before her
'Isn't it foul play to be that cute?! Hm? Who's that she's hanging off of though...'
And that's when she looked at the last person of the 4, the one the little girl was hanging off of, he was tall, much taller than someone his age should be, he looked older than her even though she was a year older than him, his tan coloured skin was just like his Fathers and looked spotless, he also had dark black hair just like his Father and when she thought he was just a smaller version of his Father, her eyes met with his.
She was shocked, for a short amount of time she thought she was looking into a beast's eyes and the beasts were looking back into her's, the Bright Yellow color made them look slightly inhuman, more like a predator than anything else.
But other than that, she thought that overall, this boy, the boy who's party she didn't want to be at, the boy she blamed for taking her away from her books, this boy was quite handsome and gave off a wild aura that despite his young age gave him a unique sense of Handsomeness
"Haha! Lara, Charles how are you two doing?"
"Ahh we're fine, we're fine! Better to ask, how's the North of Tyra treating you?"
As they kept on speaking between each other Selena moved towards the tall boy and introduced herself
"Hello, my names Selena Estrom, it's a pleasure to meet you. Also Happy 5th Birthday!"
Selena put on the kindest smile she could and was confused at her actions which were quite out of the norm for her usual disinterested behavior.
'Why am I trying to be so nice to him?'
While Selena was thinking, the boy smiled kindly at the nice gesture from her and returned the greeting
"Hello, my name is Damien Nether, the pleasures all mine. And this is my little sister, Sara Nether, say Hi Sara"
He said while lifting his arm effortlessly to put the little girl, named Sara, on eye level with Selena
"Hi, Selena."
Sara replied shyly but she seemed to be defensive of her brother for some reason, something in her eyes seemed determined on defending him
'What's she trying to defend him from? Could she think I'm going to take away her brother from her? Haha, what a cute little girl!'
"Hello Sara, let's get along, okay?"
"Mhm"
Sara nodded shyly with the same determined look
"Why don't you meet my son, Thomas, he's quite amazing if I do say so myself!"
Said the Woman, who if Selena remembered right, was called Lara, towards her Father
"Hoho look at him, what a tall lad, he seems quite well built as well, surprisingly so for a 5-year-old!"
This is what her Father said while staring at the boy like he was looking at his soul, all Selena's Mother had to say is
"Ufufu what a handsome child, he'll take the hearts of many women when he's grown up."
After that, the boy seemed to blush and he smiled while scratching the back of his head and he said
"Thank you for your compliments Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Thomas"
'Hmm Mother and Father were both right with what they said, I kinda wanna be friends with Damien, he seems like a nice boy...'
As Selena was looking at the boys face while thinking this, she didn't realize that her parents and his were looking at her with humor in their eyes, thinking that they'll be related through marriage one day.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.

If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense.
