《The Toys of the Fool》Vol.4 Prologue - Kidnapping Children

“Huh?”
That was the only word that could be muttered now. The place was dead silent as Peter, the one deemed to be most responsible for his own actions rubbed his eyes to see if he was imagining things. However no matter how much he tried, Eden still stood there in front of him....as a real person.
“How...?”
“Ah Sain, there can be questions later. Right now I have a lot of things to deal with. First, I shouldn't ignore the owner of this place too much” Eden smiled at took a glance at the old man who had a discontent look on his face.
“What does someone from Unicorn wanted from me?” he asked.
“Ah what indeed?”
“I have no times to joke with someone so young.”
“Young? You flatter me though I'm actually almost 40 here in age and spent over a century in Royal Road. I'm far form young and very used to the dirty and dark side of reality” Eden let out a sad smile though it still look provoking to others.
“Quiet, you still haven't said why you are here.”
“Right”, Eden pointed at the six which he knew and said, “I'm here for them. Turns out you can't adopt children to use and then try to throw them away later old man. The oldest ones are 17 while the youngest is 12. A little too high of age to adopt at these times where support to orphans are quite good.”
“These children were all-”
“Outcasted by society? Yep, know about that. Which is a fine reason to adopt them you knew in the end. But there is one slight problem you see. You know what it is...brat?”
“....”
The old man, the master of this household looked like he was about to burst into anger. It was understandable after all. Due to Royal Road, there had been less and less people respecting others who looked older and were older. The four times increased speed in game meant that people aged mentally faster than before.

But more to the point, Eden was treating him like a fool in a play.
“Speak or get out” he said with great restrain in his near outburst of anger.
“Well...I can't get out since that won't solve the problem here you know. Ask Simon there on the details. He's the one who tipped Unicorn...and more to the point, the government about this you know. They don't like rich old people using the younger generations in their schemes as tools” there was a spark in Eden's eyes as like he was looking at prey right now.
Everyone in the room shivered for a second to this.
And then looked to Simon who mockingly looked like he was blushing to the attention.
“Simon you....”
“Master please understand that I am obligated to reports any activities that may and will harm the future of these children. I am under law here especially since these children may become important assets to this countries.”
“....”
The two stared at each other for a few seconds, one who was grumbling and the other staying perfectly emotionless at this moment.
“Fine. Do what you wish, in the end I know the task at hand will take a long time to complete.”
Eden smiled and said, “Yep especially with your granddaughter being 'that' person who had to be famous in a bad way to certain people and yet very hard to find even for me...well unless I put my mind to it in game.”
Hina spoke up then seeing that this was useful information to them, “Eden yo-”
“Miriel and others over there, didn't I tell you to call me guildmaster? Well seeing that the other two don't really care, I don't see the need but 'guildmaster' does have a nice ring doesn't it.”

“Guildmaster?! You joined this person's guild?!” shouted the old man, “Is this why you are here?! Not some other accusation but this?”
Eden shrugged and replied with, “More or less.”
“....”
“Anyway, I'll take them even if I have to drag them with me, which I will do now” for some reason, Eden was smiling strangely while looking at the six and held his hand.
Pop~
“Huh?”
Suddenly, Eden's right hand was removed using his other hand....
“This feature is quite useful you know~”
And then several tens of wires that could be controlled perfectly like an arm came out of the hole where his hand was and flew to restrain the six completely and easily in a second.
“What the hell?!”
“Damn, this isn't some T.V show!”
Some people like Ian or Maria let out some remarks on the current situation before being dragged by Eden out of the mansion and into the car while humming a light tune while he was doing it. Sain on the other hand could only be silent and keep reminding himself that this is not normal at all and reality was not so cruel.
Thud!
Eden threw the six into a large car and got in as well and drove off with them. The old man and Simon could only stay silent to all of this.
“Master would you like some tea?” asked Simon trying to cut the tension.
The old man sighed amongst muttering a lot of curses under his breath and said, “Yes.”

Myth of The World's Trees
And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job. Still, the scars from his childhood made Omari unable to live a dull life. He dreamed of something greater... something beyond the reaches of what humankind could achieve in the current era.Like always, Omari should have been careful what he wished for. In the year 2046, the World was thrown into chaos as the apocalypse came in the form of massive trees that shot up out of the ground one day. These trees towered over the tallest of buildings and had thicknesses that spanned kilometers at a time. They grew everywhere, in homes, businesses, and cities as they formed a complex network that overlayed the old world. The cause of the apocalypse was unknown, but Omari's workplace was believed to be the origin point of the unfortunate events.Fifteen years after the start of the Apocalypse... after all the pain and suffering... after losing everything he cared about, Omari sent his memories back in time to make sure that the future he lives in, never came to be.Will he be able to uncover the mystery of The Trees? Will he be able to protect all those he has lost? Will he succeed, or will his attempt be washed away by the currents of time? Will Omari be able to learn the truth about 'THE MYTH OF THE WORLD'S TREES'?

Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
