《Ragnarök》Chapter 39 : And Off The Head Goes

I teleported towards the direction I sensed Magni was in. Sure enough, After a few teleports I could see him in sight with his gigantic god size. (Gods can change their size at will but apparently they decided to become all big and badass for this fight.)

Magni was engaged in a fight with... Someone vanishing from place to place at extremely high speeds all over Magni, treating him like some sort of inanimate object when he was swinging Mjollnir wildly around trying to connect with the target. Horse??.... WAIT HORSE?!

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! FIGHTING A GOD ALONE?” I shouted at her.

“Shut up I'm doing fine.”

And she was. My mouth gaped in shock. I knew Horse was the best 1v1 fighter in our group but taking on a god? A god wielding Mjollnir at that?

“WHAT THE FUCK WOMAN?! OP???? WHAT DID SIGYN DO TO YOU.” I whispered to her.

“I'm always OP. Please-”

I casted many divine shield layers as fast as I could on her.

A torrent of icicles rained down on her as she flashed to another part of the map.

“Holy shit what was that? Thanks I nearly died.” Horse said.

I looked at the direction the insanely pure ice mana was casted from.

“Skadi...” I muttered.

She turned and looked at me as well.

“You. You are the imbecile who helped kill Thor.” She said, her voice almost as cold as her spells.

I immediately teleported behind her and engaged her in a one on one. However, I was also worried about Horse. I figured this was it. If Horse could hold her own against a god, me being left behind with the title and a godlike skill should be able to do it as well.

“Poison torrent.”

I whirpool as big as the goddess herself was conjured and enveloped Skadi. Sounds of the fight between Horse and Magni was resumed. Suddenly, the whirlpool I conjured was frozen not by me. The ice shattered, leaving behind Skadi seemingly unhurt but I knew the poison inside could affect even gods.

“That irritating snake master of yours taught you well it seems.” She said.

She raised her hand. I could sense ice mana coming at me from every single direction. I teleported behind her. Icicles were aimed at my position a split second ago. However, they were the same homing icicles that she used against Njord.

Holy shit holy shit holy jesus facking shit. THIS SPELL KILLED A GOD WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO.

I tried to count the icicles. Too many to count. I needed at least 100 layers of divine shield which would be a waste of mana. I tried another tactic. I used wind steps and ran towards Skadi.

“Retard.” Skadi said.

I saw the entire floor around me glow teal in colour, signifying an incoming attack witth ice mana.

I teleported on top of Skadi's head. The place I was standing on a moment ago suddenly had icicles the size of giants sprouting out from the ground. My feet even through the high quality shoes I was wearing could feel the chill on the top of her head. The icicles changed their path to target me again but this time I was glad. Sigyn realised the significance of the position of my teleportation.

If she continued to stand there, the icicles would pierce her first while they were trying to get to me.

She cancelled her spell and the icicles vanished.

“Very clever.” She said.

This is going nowhere. I can avoid her attacks with a huge mana pool but how am I supposed to win?

Skadi relentlessly summoned more icicles, used ice attacks all over the place while I was on the defensive. Things were no different on the other end. Horse was moving at speeds so high she looked like a blur. Even lightning summoned from Mjollnir could not target her properly. However, her damage output was also negligible against Magni's thick armour. Both of us could keep a god occupied but that was the most we could do. We did not have the firepower to do much.

Firepower? Wait of course. I have hardly used fire spells over the past year but my opponent only specialises in ice.Let's try this out.

I used about 10% of my mana to teleport and conjour a meteor instantaneously, firing it at Skadi. It exploded around her chest area and she turned to where I teleported, obviously and extremely angry.

“First Njord calls me fat and now you summon a fucking meteor to hit my boobs. ALL GUYS ARE GOOD FOR NOTHING JERKS.” She screamed her head off.

I thought her attacks were already relentless and dangerous but it seemed I was wrong. Never, ever mess with a woman when she's on her period guys. She froze the very water vapour in the air around me and her and about a 3km radius around her was suddenly encased in ice. Needless to say, I was caught in it.

Skadi had the ability to move within the ice. She rushed towards me and I knew I had to think of something. Well, since all of us were encased in the ice already anyway, I decided to use a spell in an interesting way. I used aeroglyph on the humongous piece of ice. I accelerated it in the direction of Magni and Horse. The piece of ice sped over to them like a racing car and smashed into Magni who could only swing his hammer against it. It was insane. The force from Mjollnir crashed into the ice and it cracked into many pieces, freeing me from the ice.

Suddenly, another deafening roar could be heard over the battlefield. This time, Morgan the Strong was the one who let loose the deafening roar. His spear had pierced through the upper jaw of Fenrir and Fenrir's eyes were empty. They lacked the fire and ferocity it just had when he killed Odin. He was unmistakably dead.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” Soup's roar could be heard from many miles away. Suddenly, another wolf the size of Fenrir could be seen. But I recognized the look of the wolf even from 30 miles away.

“Soup...” I managed to gasp.

Soup was now the size of Fenrir. He looked exactly like Fenrir with broken chains now on his front and back paws. His class on our party window has also changed. It was no longer Lycanhero. It was... Alphawolf. Fenrir must've left behind something for him like how Jörmungandr did as well for me.

I realised there and then that our masters were dead. Nothing we could do could change that fact. But they have left behind something for us that would enable us to fight against these gods. They had confidence in us even though they knew they would die. My new skill wasn't some simple upgrade. It was THE upgrade I needed to fight against Skadi. It wasn't that I couldn't do damage to her. I was so scared of her attacks that I only concentrated on defending because I had no confidence that I could inflict damage on her and even kill her. But this was something I had to do and I could not run away from. I steeled my resolve.

Soup could be seen pulverising anything within his reach and I now concentrated every part of my mind. I used 10 different fire spells, each with a different property like glyphs, damaging spells, enchanting spells, debuff spells all at Skadi. Her face suddenly looked different. I could sense something I did not ever sense from her before. Fear. She realised I could do considerable damage to her. And I did as well.

I teleported close to her and encased my katana with fire. This was the time to use my swordplay. Mages are weak against physical damage more than magical. She tried to distance herself from me by using an Ice wall but teleport was a spell that proved to provide me with too much mobility. She then decided to encase me in ice again but I encased myself in fire at the same time after seeing the same spell once.

Our fight was approaching a decisive outcome when something happened. Horse was suddenly seen flung to the ground. Magni had finally gotten used to her speed and swatted her like a man who finally managed to slap a fly that has been bugging him. I quickly casted divine shield on her to shield the impact from the fall which was a good thing. I could concentrate one part of my mind to help her and one to fight with Skadi. This meant that I was even outclassing Skadi in the fight. However, Horse was still in trouble. Magni pinned her down with electrical wires from Mjollnir and she was not good at taking hits. Especially from a god. Magni raised his hammer. I casted a few more layers of divine shield on Horse but Magni smashed through all of them by smashing the hammer repeatedly over and over on her. I could not keep up the mana drain of casting many layers of divine shield over and over again on her.

I put my hand on Skadi and casted mana drain. It looks like I could also steal mana from gods. However, if I had to be close enough to establish physical contact with Skadi, her most powerful close range ice spells could also hit me. I had to use this in moderation. Magni however decided that the game was up. He charged Mjollnir up and dark clouds loomed over his head. I had a bad feeling that even divine shields would not be able to stop what was coming. Lightning that flashed so bright even my eyes which weren't looking directly at it was blinded for awhile. Skadi was also affected. I had no idea if I could protect Horse using my divine shields. I got back my sight slowly and I trembled to see what awaits me.

In front of Horse, was someone familiar to us. Sigyn. She was holding her staff up in the sky which I assumed conducted all the electricity. But this meant that she took the full brunt of the attack. She fell to the floor, charred and smelling of burnt hair but she was still twitching. She seemed to be still alive.

“MASTERRR!” Horse yelled as she raced by her side. Magni was busy smirking and letting out huge deep laughs.

Skadi immediately gave me no chance to regroup myself and rained me down with more icicles and I had it. It was no longer dangerous but irritating. I increased the quantity of fire mana around me and barged through the icicles, aiming for one spot. A woman's most irritating body part most of the time. Her mouth. She was shocked and let out a gasp but that was her mistake. I could not teleport to a place I could not see but her mouth was open and I saw it.

I teleported inside and let loose all 900000 condensed mana of mine into one huge meteor. I aimed it at the roof of her mouth while encasing myself with the high purity fire mana.

BOOOOOOM

You have killed a god!

You have gained 500000000 exp!

You have earned a title : God Slayer

You have gained an item : Skadi's ring.

I could see the sky. Along with bits and pieces of skull and brain which could be mistaken for other stuff because everything was black. Suddenly I felt the whole world tipping over as I was on a roller coaster almost vertically downwards.

BOOOOOOM

And that was the now incinerated from the mouth upwards body of Skadi collapsing onto the floor. I quickly looked over at Sigyn. Now, her almost dead body was being feasted upon by gargoyles and frost giants. No douby summoned from Cheeballs the undying. Horse was still fighting Magni and was now fighting while crying, too preoccupied with Magni to help her master. It was a horrible feeling, being able to do nothing but watch your master die. I made my master sacrifice himself for me so I knew. I quickly used my fully restored mana since I levelled up to wipe out the gargoyles and frost giants. But when I was casting my healing spells on Sigyn, I knew.... It was a lost cause.

“NOOOOOOO MASTER!!!!” Horse screamed. Similarly, Horse glowed with a new power, definitely inherited from her master. All of a sudden, Horse who was a blur already, took it one gear higher. She vanished from sight. Suddenly, I saw her at Magni's eye level and instead of holding her usual dual daggers, she was wielding one rapier and one saber. One for piercing and one for slashing. Indeed befitting for a murderer. Suddenly, her class changed as well in the party window. It was no longer Murderer but Executioner. Badass alright. Damn bloody badass.

It seemed that Sigyn also took her powers to the next level. One moment Magni was alright still with his fully armoured platemail set and suddenly, his back had a gigantic cut that pierced through the armour with blood gushing out profusely. Horse must've used Without a trace coupled with puncture but this was a puncture on a whole new level. To think it can even pierce through a god's armour....

“WHAT?! HOW?!” Magni shouted, summarising my long previous paragraph in two words.

“Shut up.” Horse whispered beside his ear.

It was honestly a scary thing to see. A human versus a god but with the human dealing so much damage to the god. It was like a fly which was harrassing you suddenly stabbed you with a knife somewhere whispering “Shut up” beside your ear while harrassing you. I mean it may sound stupid or funny but if it happens I bet you'll pee in your pants and bath in pesticide. However, this was happening to Magni and he had no pesticide.

Horse was still zooming around him and you could not even see her as a blur. It was as if she learnt the teleport skill. The difference was she was just moving so damn fast the only time I could see her was if she stopped to plant her legs on the ground to do a massive attack which usually drew blood even through the thick armour of Magni.

Magni was also taking preventive measures by now. He wrapped himself with electricity from Mjollnir like a secondary layer of armour but it seemed as though Horse could now phase through even magical attacks for periods of times. She could waltz through the electrically charged armour without suffering any damage for periods of times and when it was on cooldown, she would just simply keep her distance and switch to ranged attacks which involved throwing deadly knives in huge quantities at vital parts.

Magni was clearly not enjoying himself. He decided to use his last resort. He swung Mjollnir so fast around his head that soon, he conjured a typhoon with him as the eye of the tornado. He wanted to suck Horse into the tornado so that she would be unable to keep up the high speed combat and so he could land his hits on her. I think that was a legit, well thought out plan. However, Horse was such a monstrosity that I would never ever think of calling her fat lest we become another NjordSkadi domestic murder case.

Horse was indeed being sucked into the tornado. Suddenly, something I've never seen from Horse became so clear to me. No it was not the tornado revealing her private parts or anything like that. She started glowing. Grey in colour. The highest purity of wind mana. But she didn't even have much mana. And then they were concentrated into her saber. When she was just about to be sucked into the torrent of the tornado, she swung her saber horizontally, and the concentrated wind mana in her saber left instantaneously, causing a shockwave so powerful that it stilled the tornado, slicing through it, and as well as cleanly through Magni's neck.

His head flew three feet in the air first with a complete look of shock on his face which was remarkably similar to the look on my face as well. She just used a skill so powerful it took the head of a god off so cleanly. I looked at her, eyes popping out of their sockets and mouth so agape that an apple could fit inside easily.

“Sigyn's signature move. Getsuga Tenshou.” She said.

“WHAT?!”

“Just kidding. Bleach would sue us. It's called Zephyr. The saber and rapier was hers. They were enchanted by Loki and made especially for her. It has 100% affinity to wind and it could absorb both my stamnia, mana as well as health and convert it into power for the slash.” She explained.

I looked at her health bar. It was less than half. She must've put half her health as well as all her mana and stamina for that attack. It was powerful enough to stop a tornado and take off a god's head completely after all...

“How many levels did you gain from killing Magni?” I asked.

“About 60? Doesn't matter. I'm going after Cheeballs now. That bitch needs to be raped.” Her eyes even colder and even more furious now scanned the map for her new target.

It was my turn to caress her face gently and instead of telling her “Go kick some ass” like she told me, I decided on something else more apt for her.

“Don't rape her too badly. Her family still needs to recognise and claim the body.”

She nodded and zoomed off.

Boy that girl has issues. But now I'm sure of it. I have some sort of feelings for her. DAMNITTTT.

I looked at the headless Magni, feeling better for Jörmungandr now that some sort of revenge was established. But I looked towards the giant wolf who was now on fire, both figuratively as well as literally as he was lit on fire by someone but still rampaging onwards towards Morgan The Strong.

Suddenly, everyone was distracted by something even more incredulous than a giant wolf on fire rampaging in Asgard.

Loki and Freyja have begun their battle. It was the first time everyone saw Loki fight. And boy oh boy did he live up to his name.
