《Ragnarök》Chapter 37 : The First Death

Fenrir hurtled down the bridge headed straight for the cluster of gods, knocking aside the army of Aesir in his way like they were bowling pins on a lane with a wrecking ball being rolled down the lane.
The gods were all lvl “???”. We couldn't see their level. We could see the level of the level 1000 dragon so it could only be safe to assume that they were of a much higher level. Could hardly blame the creators of the game though. Gods shouldn't have levels.
Jörmungandr flew to the skies and it immediately turned dark. Thor could be seen taking off as well, flying into the sky, wielding the might mjollnir which summoned flashes of lightning with every swing his hammer made.
Hel immediately started summoning her soldiers from hell. (Pun intended.) Skeletal soldiers, mages, and even her two personal wolves, Skoll and Hati also joined her, emerging from the ship.
Loki slowly walked along the Bifrost, along the path cleared for him by Fenrir.
Correspondingly, on the other hand, Thor of course took to the skies.
Freyr and Magni started marching across the bridge towards Fenrir who was balling towards them.
Odin took out his spear, gungnir and stabbed the earth. A flash of thunder bigger than 10 of Thor's lightning strikes appeared straight down on the spear.
Freyja started summoning her valkyries from Valhalla. Female angels started streaming down from the heavens and they were level 350 and above, higher than the Aesir we just fought.
Njord and Skadi started using high level spells such as freezing field and aqua pulse on the whole map.
Team BALLs still hasn't made a move. They were letting their masters settle their fudes personally with our own masters. We did the same.
The first fight broke out when Fenrir rammed himself against Magni and Freyr. The impact of the clash was so strong that even from about 30km away we had to brace ourselves and plant ourselves firmly on the ground. The citizens of Carnival who were fighting with the valhallas summoned from Freyja all stopped for awhile to recover themselves from the shock. We all tried to look at what happened. Fenrir slammed into them shoulder first and managed to knock Magni so hard that his his face was contorted with effort but alas his shield was flung backwards, into Freyr's face.
Fenrir did not even follow up. He just stared at poor Freyr. Magni as well did not react towards Fenrir but slowly brought his shield down.. Trying to access the damage of the impact.
The shield came down slowly. We could see the forehead which was abit red but nothing weird... Then we could see the eyes which were squinted... Followed by the nose which was slightly crooked and bleeding and finally the mouth which swelled up like two banana boats. Fenrir sat down in the middle of Bifrost and laughed his ass off at Freyr. Magni couldn't help it as well. Freyr looked into the shiny reflective shield more closely. And then he realised his good looking face has become sort of a.. well something like Longbean's fuckface.
“HEY LOOK THATS ME!” Longbean shouted.
“NO THAT'S ME!” Breadtalk shouted, using his fuckface.
All of us acted out our fuckfaces and then all of a sudden a huge torrent of cold water poured over us.
“Njord! Be nice! They were just kids having fun!” said Skadi.
“But they were being mean to Freyr!”
“You are always mean to me you don't pour yourself with cold water everytime you do that!”

“But I AM always in cold water.”
Skadi threw an ice spear at Njord.
“YOU DIDN'T JUST DO THAT YOU FATTY.”
*GASP*
“Jinx did he just..” Beathoven asked me.
“I think he just did...” I replied.
Horse looked like she could rape Njord right there and then.
“What's the big deal? I call Horse fat all the time- OOOOFFFF”
Breadtalk was lying on the floor clutching his stomach the next instant.
Macaroni grabbed Soup by the collar, offended as hell and at the same time curious as fuck to what would happen in the next instant.
Everyone stopped fighting. Thor and Jörmungandr. Even Fenrir, Freyr and Magni stopped when they were within 5 meters of each other. All eyes were on Njord and Skadi.
“Did you just call me fat?”
“Don't be ridiculous you know I didn't. Everyone can be my witness!” Njord said while looking hopefully at everyone.
Everyone shook their head slowly. Except Breadtalk who managed to recover from the sucker punch he received.
“HE CALLED YOU FAT! I HEARD IT I HEARD IT!” he shouted at the top of his voice, jumping to add exclamation to his expression.
Horse gave him a huge slap while I gave a huge punch on opposite sides of his face. It was squished to a point where anyone would have mistaken his face for a pear instead of a face and I would've already laughed at that but nothing was more exciting than knowing what Skadi would do to Njord.
In her defence, she was not fat. Just saying. She was of a very healthy figure. Like voluptuously healthy.
Suddenly I could feel chill in my bones. Like right down to the core of my bones. Everyone around me also felt it. The purity of ice mana Skadi was molding now for her spell was... absurd. It was clearly ice mana but it didn't look anything like teal. It was almost pure white. And the amount of mana as well as the density... Well let's just say I don't have any spells currently that could rival that monstrosity.
“WAIT WAIT WAIT SKADI WAIT. YOU'RE SKINNY. THIN. FIT. SLENDER. ANYTHING BUT ICICLESSON.”
What a name. Iciclesson. How many times have she used this on him?
Suddenly, the pure mana split into at least a different fragments and took the shape of icicles. All of them homed on Njord. The first few thousand pummeled into Njord and pierced through him. Even a god had to take damage from that. I was wrong. “Njord” suddenly just turned into water and fell like a tsunami. He then reappeared about 4km behind Skadi.
Water clone. I had that skill as well.
But it was not as easy as that. The icicles that pierced “Njord” did not just vanish there and then. They suddenly defied any norm of physics and curved 180 degrees to home in on the actual Njord.
“You know it's impossible to run away from this. Take it head on like a man Njord. Not like A GIANT FUCKING PUSSY WHO CALLED ME FAT!” Skadi yelled, her voice estranged with distraught.
Njord gave a sigh so heavy that I was shocked his lungs did not drop out from his mouth. He then just stood tall, stood strong and took the punishment.
I was expecting a spell of that scale to damage the god considerably but again it seemed like common sense in this fight has to go out of the window. The window of the 99th storey or higher. Njord took every single icicle through his body. And dropped dead.

“WHAT?!” Everybody shouted.
“WHATTTT?! OMG WHAT A PUSSY. Serves you right honestly.” Skadi exclaimed with a tinge of lament and disappointment in her voice.
WHAT SORT OF WIFE KILLS HER HUSBAND JUST BY CALLING HER FAT?!
I looked at Horse.
“If i ever did that to you....” I began.
“Yes. A million times yes.” she replied.
Girls.
“FATHER!!!” Freyr and Freyja exclaimed.
“WHAT?!” The BOTs exclaimed.
“WHATTTTT?!” The BALLs exclaimed even louder.
HOW SCREWED UP IS THE FAMILY TREE? THE MOTHER KILLING THE FATHER IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN?!
“Actually I saw it coming.” Freyr added.
“Yea me too brother. They fight all the time. I liked mom more anyway.” Freyja answered.
“I like Soup the most.” Breadtalk added.
And that stupid comment resulted in everyone reinitiating on their fights after a short 1 minute movie which was Skadi killing Njord in front of our eyes.
The Carnivalists were trying their best to hold off the Valkyrie. The summons of Hel were making their way towards Asgard, terrorizing the streets. Flashes of lightning meant that Thor was fighting Jörmungandr again. Fenrir then begun dealing with Freyr and Magni again.
The BALLS also decided to make their move. All of them sat on Slepinir which was Odin's horse which was now owned by Genesis. They were galloping fast towards us.
“Okay guys remember who takes who okay. Stick to your targets.” I prompted.
“Of course. Anyone interferes with mine and I'll team kill you like that badass Skadi.” Soup chirped in.
“Somehow I think I'm attracted to Soup.” Macaroni said.
All of us stared at her.
“I'm right here...” Soup stuttered.
“It's not the time for a confession Maca even though I understand.” Horse comforted her.
“So you got someone you wanna confess to?” Breadtalk pried.
Breadtalk was then as usual facing the floor again while all of us got ready for the incoming enemy.
We weren't going down that easy again. Not a chance.
Soup shapeshifted into his Lycan form and now stood a whopping twice the size of me. A level 500+ lycanhero will always exude so much raw power than I didn't even need mana intuition to feel safe with him on my team.
Horse went stealth immediately and I could sense her with Terrasense since she could only stealth, not fly.
Macaroni engulfed herself in fire and summoned her sword, the only weapon Surtr ever uses. A sword that burns brighter than the sun itself.
Beathoven took out his trust lute and played chaotic melody to get us started and proceeded to use his main song. A fiery hand erupted meters from where he was standing and soon, Surtr stood in front of us, summoned to this chaotic venue for the first time.
“Ahh. Asgard. Now this is what I call a fight. Macaroni. Don't disappoint me.” He said.
“Of course master.”
“I know you've been crushing on Soup since you first joined them and don't worry I approve so please don't be distracted in the fights.”
“AGAIN I'M RIGHT HERE.” Soup added, flushing now.
“YES MASTER!” said Macaroni with more enthusiasm now.
Macaroni with Soup. Now that's nice. Almost as nice as a Jinxed Horse. WAIT WHAT THE FUCK AM I THINKING ABOUT. NOT THE TIME.
I slapped myself.
Everyone looked at me.
“Sorry sorry. Time for me to enter battle mode too.”
Over the past years, I've trained myself to be a spontaneous multitasker even more. I've stuck to the basic trainings my master left me with. Break my mind into parts, so I can do multiple spells at once. Now, I can break my mind into a whopping twenty parts which required insane concentration and I invented a new skill which allowed me to take this to an even higher level.
I used electrical mana and created a globe of dispersed mana around me. The radius was about 300meters. I then linked the electrical mana directly to my nervous system. This way, I did not need faster reaction time based on what I was seeing. I was directly linked to everything happened within a 300m radius of me. I could take in every movement, every bit of mana that was flowing and occuring in a 300m radius of mine. It was an insane skill which I thought of after reading medical books about how involuntary movements can be triggered using foreign electrical shocks to the correct part of the brain.
I then proceeded to cast a freezing field like Sigyn's around our party in anticipation of the BALLs.
Breadtalk by now had recovered and pulled out his weapon. This time, it was an eight so his gauntlets came out. The gauntlets were copper bronze in colour which covered his whole forearm. The linked animal to the equipment was an armadilo called “Immadildo”. The armlets were extremely special in the sense that they only do one thing. Greatly increase the physical attributes of Breadtalk. This way, Breadtalk had insane attack and defence stats just by punching stuff. The previous time he tested this, he punched Soup who flew through the interior castle walls. There was a clear hole in the wall which resembled a huge wolf that flew threw three walls before crashing into the reinforced castle walls on the outside. Soup himself was shocked at the damage output of those things.
Longbean has also grew a huge deal. Wizards were hard jobs to master due to telepathy requiring a huge mastery and control over it for it to be useful in fights. Now, Longbean could use his mana effectively under my tutelage and lift up things as heavy as 200kg with just a tiny bit of mana. His offensive and defensive capabilities have shot through the roof. Plus, he could use telepathy with manart quite effectively since telepathy was just like mana manipulation just without the nature affinities. Telepathy always used a neutral form of mana.
Xantos also gave us all a few holy buffs due to her status now as Greater Roc and all of us stood in anticipation of the BALLs who have all gotten their own preparations ready.
Genesis could be seen wielding his own replica of Gungnir which was present with Odin. MidAndFeed was still seen with his mythical sword which could fight on it's own from Freyr. FireFireFire the hammer chieftan still had a replica of Mjollnir which was called Maelstorm. Cheeballs the undying was summoning monsters in front of us now. They were all level 400 Holy Paladins which guarded the extremely important installments of Asgard.
Maxmystical was molding his mana for a big spell which I could sense even though they were still flying towards us from 20km away. Trina had already created 20 ice spears which were ready to be flung at us anytime I presume. Morgan The Strong had already summoned his golden-maned horse by Slepinir's side and had his lance ready. They were still charging at us despite knowing that we had completed our preparations as well.
The first death between both sides has already occurred. Even though it was a friendly fire, the first casualty has already transpired. Who would be next?? One thing was for sure. It was going to be a bloodbath for sure.

8 383Glass Cannon
Mortal Coil is the best VRMMO in the market with millions of people playing it! In this game, two best friends made a bet with each other. Whoever becomes the #1 ranked would win. Such a simple bet, but to them, it was like a declaration of war. Being two of the most stubborn individuals on the planet that saw loss as a personal offense, they made this last bet before cutting off their friendship due to some... complicated matters(Don't worry It'll get explained in the book). The problem was, that one was super talented at the game, and the other was super shit. This story revolves around that player. No, not the talented one, the shit one. Hated by many for his rather "uncouth" strategies (one of which included hitting a guy in the back of the head with a wooden board, stealing all his stuff and leaving him stark naked in the middle of the woods), his name is Jack. Oh, and did I mention he's a min-Maxed for health which drives people insane? Unfortunately, as luck would have it, he stumbles upon the worst possible hidden class for him. Warrior of Glass. A class with insanely high attack power... and insanely low HP. He's also given a quest to retrieve a sword in the middle of the Ashen Forest (lovingly nicknamed "Suicide Woods" by the players) and another quest to kill 7 insanely powerful demon lords that roam the lands so he can fulfill his predecessor's legacy. Now, armed only with a veeery high damage output, an unbendable will of steel and his almost nonexistent sense of guilt (emphasis on almost), he still aims to become the #1 player. This time, with some serious handicaps.
8 199Greys II - Ghosts
There he stood, dark eyes, dark hair, beautiful in the most devastating of ways. It scared me how little he had changed, his hair was longer and black, his frame thinner, like he hadn't eaten since I last saw him. His eyes were different, lacking something they had always held before, lacking anything really, and yet he was the same. He looked weak, but I knew he wasn't. "Hi, angel."His voice was just as dead as his eyes. It sent a shiver up my spine. That was the reason I felt sick, that was the reason he seemed different. He was dead, and as much as I wanted to hate him, I was sad he was empty, sad he wasn't the same man anymore."Hello, Gabriel."My voice came out softer than I would have liked, the words burning my tongue. But it didn't matter, I got the desired effect even if the volume wasn't there. He flinched, his eyes widening, his eyebrows twitching up and together, his jaw setting for just a moment. But then it was gone and he looked away, death settling back in his eyes, in the lines of his face.» ✦ «#2 in Angel Romance#3 in Demonology#11 in Thriller#Mature, 18+ for all the reasons. Not a YA novel (again).**Due to disturbing themes, violence, depression, language and literally everything else, this is not for the kids. Ghosts is darker than Intentions. But you need to live in the dark to appreciate the light...or at least, the lighter grays 🖤🖤
