Suddenly the space before me shone brightly and I was teleported to what seemed like a town square.
"Hey there he is! Jinx over here!"
I recognised the voice being that of Zack's and looked at his direction. He was sitting down at a fountain near the middle of the town square about 10 meters away with Joe and I started walking in the direction towards them, trying to feel how virtual reality felt like.
It was a wonderful feeling. It felt like all I did was use some strange machine to teleport to another world. I felt exactly like I did in real life; Swallowing my own saliva, walking, jogging running, blinking. Everything felt so natural i wonder how much effort had gone in the research and development of RR to make it so realistic.

"So Anthony is as late as usual huh?"
"That's the one thing you can count on him to do other than being absolutely retarded."
And as if to answer to our calling, Anthony appeared from what seemed to be a magic circle conjured from thin air. Newbies seem to attract a lot of attention as everyone will notice when a newbie appears in the middle of the town. Some of them like me just experimented with their bodies abit while some would look lost. Anthony however proved to be an extreme case of the prior.
He punched himself in the face with all his strength.
"OW! I thought pain thresholds limits were like 2% or something!"
And I realised I could differentiate between the players and NPCs at that point as all the players laughed but the NPC's just stood there puzzled at what was going on with the guy who seemingly punched himself in the face for no apparent reason. The AI of this game was so well made that the NPC's themselves knew what sort of behaviour was classified as weird and queer. The level of human psychology implemented in the AI must have been extremely advanced. I was absolutely marveled at the sheer intricacy of this virtual world.
"Oh there you guys are! I hope you didn't see that!" Exclaimed Anthony after looking in our direction.
"Your facepalm? I mean facefist? No we did not."
"Shut up i bet it didn't even occur to you guys to try that out."
And Anthony was right. It was because of his way of thinking that enabled him to do all these seemingly reckless things which no normal person would. Thus we concluded that although the pain threshold for RR was set at 2% for everyone, this does not include intentional harm to your own body caused by yourself. This could be a bug that no one else has found and reported yet and we decided there were possibilities for it to be exploited later on in the game.

"Alright guys we're finally here. Lets get down to business. Friend requests sent to all of you." I said
"Ditto." Joe replied
"Yupz." Zack acknowledged
"I have no friends ): "
"Shut up and accept Anthony."
"Im not Anthony here. I'm Breadtalk and its a cool name so use it."
"..... Anyone else changed their name?"
"I'm called Beathoven..." said Zack
"My name is Soup." said Joe
Jinx, Soup, Breadtalk and Beathoven..... Yup sounds like our clique alright. Loads of help required.
You have 3 new friend requests from Soup, Breadtalk and Beathoven. Do you accept?
Yes|No
Everyone accepted the friend requests and we completed all the preliminary work.
"Alright guys. We've done all our research. We have 1 month of in game time to set ourselves apart from each other. Lets do our best." I said as i looked at their excited faces.
"Lowest level after one month treats the rest of us to a meal both in game and out!" said Soup who looked confident as hell.
"You're not getting that bet you grinder." retorted Beathoven who seemed to know exactly what he was going to do as well.
"Well, i'm going to get a head start first so.. SUCK MY DICK IN ONE MONTH'S TIME GUYS." And Breadtalk dashed off.
The three of us looked at each other with a smile and shortly after dashed off in three opposite directions.
"Till we meet again." I whispered to all of them, dashing to my first location which based on my research was the third biggest building in Junad. The Grand Library.

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."

In Search of a Protagonist
(Book 1 completed. On indeterminate hiatus) An unidentified entity in a new magic world, needs to observe people's daily life to judge and find someone that is worthy of being a protagonist of its own story. Beginning to observe from birth an individual of the race called Efalem, composed of only elf-like-beautiful-women, we will follow this being until its death, which may be premature since the society is a war driven one with high mortality rates even from birth. Life, the struggle for existence
What would happen when man had to, once again, fight for its own right to live? Would the evolutionary counterparts of our ancestors manage to life through the struggle for survival? What would happen to society if a new reason for living came up, other than the enjoyment of the well-built environment? A reason that could either unite or destroy humanity. This is the struggle for their right of existence. As earth and its inhabitants are faced with the fear of unknown danger and the peril of monstrosities, some will falter, some will die and some will live on to tell the tales of those forgotten. As reality dictates, most will be part of the first two groups and only a small faction will be part of the latter. *This is my first attempt at writing fantasy, so I do hope you’ll enjoy it. The story is one of apocalyptic nature, with gigantic monsters, unfathomable powers and also a critial view on humanity and what it means to be human. I will definitely try to stay away from any tropes that are not neccesary to write fantasy, as I thoroughly despise non-creativity. There shall be no harems, no unrealistic behavior and absolutely no standard scene of dimwitted bandits that try to rob whatever similarly rock-brained princess they encounter. The main character is not black and white, because no human is completely good or completely evil. They’re human, not some idealistic concept of what one is supposed to be. Enjoy!Warning: Tagged 17+ for the occasional strong language and violence, some mild sexual content can occur in the distant future.
