Volume 2, Chapter 048 – Being A Friendly Diplomat
By Skalsar
'They won't listen..', I tell the others in my mind.
'Show dominance.', Sora says.
'Make them.', Danar answers angrily.
His anger is directed at me again.
[Dungeon Lords] temper is worsening I guess.
First he sends me to do this without any knowledge besides Sora grinding them to the last drop of [Stamina], now he gets angry because it doesn't work as easy as he thought it should.. Stupid Danar.
Wait.. did I cut off the connection to the [Hive]? Yes, yes I did. Phew.
Just panicked there for a moment.
But now to the main question.
How do you control other beings?
Are we even supposed to control other beings?
I myself don't quite like to be controlled, but on the other hand, controlling others is fun for me.
Stepping over Squishi who is squishing around on the ground, I walk over to that arena-like thing where the [Ogres] are brawling.
Guess this is as good as it gets.
"So.. what is an [Ogre] supposed to be able to do?", I ask curiously as I jump down to them.
One of them growls deeply and grabs my neck.
I get the feeling I somehow offended him.
Oh.
My neck gets broken easily by his massive hands.
Looks like [Ogres] don't just simply look strong.
Believing it was enough to break my neck, he had turned around to continue brawling.
My beloved obsidian thorn took care of him in an instant.
Blood splatters everywhere as I pierce his chest from back to front, destroying his heart.
The other [Ogre] looks at me angrily.
"GRAAAAAH!", he screams and charges at me.
But I already have an idea how to not do everything myself.
So I take out a [Core] from my pocketrealm and drop it on the dead [Ogre].

Yes. I'm going to create a [Ghoul] again.
Inserting [Magic Power] and using [Summon Soul], the [Ghoul] rises up and blocks the charge.
Being only a tool, he shows destruction I wouldn't have guessed to be possible.
He crushes the [Ogres] arms.
He rips away bones with his bite.
He rages blindly with everything he got.
Some [Goblins] and [Hobgoblins] that are in the arena try to attack him, but are easily crushed.
I have revived something good.
But his mind is full of screams and fury.
A few moments later he punches the other [Ogre] down and crushes his chest with a kick.
Hm, maybe I will call him Fury for now.
This makes me think..
Maybe they would be a good material?
I want to create something terrifying, something absolute for those little [Goblins].
[Summon Soul] is used even more.
Reviving the fallen ones around me.
A bloody slaughter takes place in the dark cave.
Screams of helpless monsters.
I block the entrance with my new slaves.
A hundred of them fall easily.
They are weak.
"Please! Beg you! Mercy!", the [Goblin – Shaman] pleads to me.
My [Ghouls] drag him to me easily while the terrified [Goblins] watch.
His fingernails dig into the ground and leave a bloody trace.
"EEEEK! MERCY!", he shouts.
Fury steps on him, crushing him completly.
Afterwards, I use [Summon Soul] once more.
I wanted to test this before, but this is as good as any time.
"What?", Fury asks suddenly.
"Me.. Ogre?", he suddenly bursts with joy.
"Strong Ogre now! Now I will..!", he starts shouting and looks at me.
He wanted to attack me just now, but isn't able to move.
I forced the [Goblin – Shamans] [Soul] into Fury.
But this is only the start.
Ripping out the Fury's [Core], I start fiddling again.

Other [Ghouls] come to me, too.
I tinker with some of their [Cores] and bodies too.
"How dare!"
"Cruel!"
"Disgusting!"
"Monster!"
The [Goblins] and [Hobgoblins] shout in disgust as I dismember bodies of their brothers.
But who really cares?
'Why you do this?!', the [Core] of Fury asks weakly.
But it's simple.
I create something that will make this little weaklings obey!
Something so terrifying, they will never dare to ignore me again.
The base of the creature are the two [Ogre] bodies.
Mixed together with some of the [Hobgoblins].
Back to back I knit their flesh.
Legs fuse together and become one.
Arms as thick as the [Ogres] legs, I build them from scratch.
'What is that disgusting creation?', I suddenly hear Sora in my mind.
'Don't know yet.', I answer truthfully.
'That thing is an abomination! Where is the art! Where is the..', she starts again..
'PERFECT!', Danar suddenly shouts happily.
'I knew I could count on you, Nydar!', he adds proudly, scanning the new creature.
"GRAAAAH!", my new creation shouts.
Two heads on a body that towers even above an [Ogre].
Three arms that easily could crush trees.
Four legs to support the massive body.
[Hiveborn – Abomination] is born.
Only by chance is it still small enough to move in the cave.
"Follow new leader. We join [City].", Fury mumbles while looking at the terrified [Goblins].
They follow, not wanting to think about what might happen if they don't.
Looking back at the few [Ghouls] that are left behind.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

P.A.R.A.D.O.X. PROJECT: Aeon Genesis
The first project focusing on four protagonists within the same world set around fictional 14th-century Europe. This is the first P.A.R.A.D.O.X. PROJECT focusing on 3 (+1) protagonists within the same world set around fictional 14th-century-esque Europe. Each story has its own protagonists (Male or Female Lead), genres (mainly Western Fantasy), and can be read as a standalone. Status: OngoingUpdate(s) per week: 1Words per chapter: 3000 - 6000 *** ‘A human or not; a king or a servant; hope or despair; a hero or a villain.’ Depending on one's perspective and how each story portrays, one will view an individual or a group as evil or virtuous. Because of that, it depends on the reader and listener to believe which one is the truth. More people read and trust multiple (trusted?) sources that either complement or contradict one another. The contradiction becomes the source of debates between those who believe and those who don’t. From that difference in belief, two groups appear: The Majority and The Minority. The majority, having more people, suppress the minorities’ beliefs, claiming theirs, the majorities’, to be the truth. However, the majority are not only composed solely of those who share the same belief but also those who know the truth but afraid to admit it. They have to keep quiet and turn a blind eye for their safety. The majority had to submit to those with power and authority. With the majority under control, those with power and authority can create, manipulate, and/or fabricate truth and lies by force. The reason was for one’s or group’s personal benefits. In the end, there is no such thing as ‘absolute truth’; only sugar-coated lies created by the top. Don’t believe me? It is up to you to decide. Go and read it yourself.

Along for the Ride
Every child born on the continent of West Cartia is taught about the Great Goblin War but what the annals of history fail to mention is that the entirety of the conflict could be traced back to a group of four friends who stumbled into the currents of fate in search of a fantasy novel. This is the story of how a band of bookworms realized that when destiny pulled hard enough, struggling was futile; it was best to relax and go along for the ride. "A breezy, good time with all the trappings of high fantasy fun." - someone eventually (hopefully)
