Chapter 043.5 – Feeling Lost (Mina)
By Skalsar
Mina had told Mardo quite a few things about what had happened.
Not about the abusive character of her guardian, but about lending money and searching for hints about her mother, the [Hero] Idril that died in the [Quon Village Dungeon].
About Gram and her exploring.
How she returned emptyhanded and was therefore reduced to being a slave.
Even a few things about her class escaped her while she was at it.
After running away and hiding, it was a good feeling to finally talk to someone again.
Like this, they arrived at [Mafay Village] thanks to the [Field Walk] at the [Adventurer Guild].
But she couldn't just go into the dungeon again.
First, she would have to find Gram.
And maybe talk to the [Local Lord].
Mardo had told her about him and the [Village Chief] and they sounded like good people.
The chance was, that they might help her.
Mardo therefore wanted to go to the lord first and talk about something important before arranging a meeting for them. In the meantime, Mina could search for Gram. But..
How was it that no one seemed to know about where Gram was?
Looking around, color was everywhere.
Sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker.
Few had seen a boy like what she described, but that was over a month ago.
Couldn't be he was stupid enough to go back into the dungeon again, right?
Like.. alone.. When they had already failed.. right..?
The thought hit Mina hard.
What was this sudden pain, the feeling as if someone was pressing against her chest.
Gram was just a boy after all.
What if he thought that it was just bad luck to lose to that [Slime], because of their inexperience?

But that wasn't the case.
The dungeon was clearly too much for them.
Not to mention Gram not being able to escape with [Dungeon Walk].
The [Queen] that casually threw them out should have been more than enough proof for that.
You don't cheat death like this twice.
And still she was thinking about entering again herself too.
>Eek!The man fell besides her.
>I'm sorry! I was..
>... and shall burn those who are lost in corruption!Screams appeared.
How long had she drifted off, thinking about the boy?
She tried to focus and see what was going on, but the colors were so bright.
Orange was everywhere.
>This.. isn't color..?
Fire spread everywhere and a laughter echoed through the village.
Poeple were running and bodies dropped dead.
Faster then she could watch, a man rushed through the masses and slaughtered many with a swing of his sword.
Chaos broke loose everywhere.
'Why?
Just why?', she thought.
Was death following her even here?
'Am I just a toy for the gods to suffer?', she wanted to cry as the [Paladin] noticed her and stepped near.
>Noooo!>I don't want to die! I don't want to die! I don't want to..
This was too much.
People dying left and right, as if they were just cattle.
And then, the [Paladin] stood before her.
Touching her head with his left hand.
>Oww, don't worry little one.
You aren't from here, right?
I shall protect you.
I will get rid of this corrupted filth for you any moment now.
She didn't dare to breath.
Wetting herself as he just left and continued the slaughter.
Fire spreading from one house to the other.
Blood flowing beneath her feet, as a severed head fell before her.
She didn't dare to move from her spot and closed her eyes, hoping it would be over soon.
Telling herself there was nothing she could do.
But a small whisper remained.. 'Why aren't you even trying to stop that man..?'.

Dragonfall
This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time. I've discovered I don't do well at that. I'm just writing this thing and we'll see where it takes us, OK? Nothing every came easy to Ryan Shakespeare, but as an elite British Army sniper he had found a niche that suited him, right up to the point at which he found himself summoned to a world far from his own to fulfil the job of a champion. Luckily, Ryan arrived with his experimental sniper rifle, so surely killing the dragon and getting his chance to go home would be a simple job, right? But Ryan should have known better, because nothing ever comes easy. Caught up in the politics of the Draconic League, Ryan will need to keep all his wits about him and use every resource at his disposal if he's going to persuade these people to let him do his job and go home.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.

Reminiscence
My website: https://putiancom.wordpress.com This is a short story about revenge or something along the lines. (This is my first story ever written so please go ham at criticising my work.) Death. It is a form of punishment or torture. And can be also be a form of salvation. Ultimately, it forms different perspectives depending on the beholder itself and on how the beholder take it as. Life. A point in time where finding your purpose. Purpose, of life itself and experience its flow, either epiphany or hell. Death. It is an end. A point of no return. It also makes the beholder feel free, breaking away from the chain of life. It makes the beholder recollect and reflect when crossing the boundary between life and death. Boundaries. A place where a path will ultimately, be chosen with or without consideration in the decision, free. . . . A place where recounting life, take it as a feeling. The joys and sorrow accumulated, playing back, making the beholder reexperience life. "Reminiscing."

I'm not evil, trust
Lonnie Winters was one of the lucky ones to become evolvers. Becoming a type of warrior that has a spirit beast, he lives his life on the edge of a scale. Trying to balance between living a normal life and making a statement that puts him as the face of evolvers. (This is an apocalypse story and those used to reading my unfinished stories. Then this is similarly a slow roasted story. This is also just second draft. Sorry for the mistakes, I started this when I was in the hospital for my knee and hip surgery.)

All of the ship's systems had failed because it relied on ambient mana to work. Now, thousands of years later, the solar system is littered with space stations, the planet Dust has been colonized and the races of the Oldworld thrive again, having recovered from the destruction of the Oldworld. They live, they level, and they learn. But still, the origin of mana is unknown, and puzzles the scientists of the world even more. Some planets have it, like Dust, while some have none.
