"She always lords over the fact that her daughter has the only full set in the family but now-wait what is your set anyway?"

"Mom I need you to explain what the hell your talking about now please."She looked surprised and then nodded."Of course, you don't know my mistake.Well Ash this may come as a surprise but you are not the only member of our family that has powers in fact every member of our family is at least enhanced well sorta."

"What do you mean sorta."I ask but she just waves her hand and I lose my breath.Holy shit my mother just stole my air!

"Quiet honey Im getting there."I just stare at her in surprise and she nods and continues.

"You see our family is a long line of supers but we always have the same set or parts of the same set for a reason.You see technically we aren't supers per say.We are in fact descendants of the Roman Goddess Laverna."

"That explains so much!I always wondered why you were able to handle holy power without backfire or even dying and the answer is so simple.You had a divine spark all along!Hmm now I know you won't vaporize yourself I can speed up your training."I hear Alita mutter.I have the feeling that wasn't something I was meant to hear and in fact really didn't want to so I ignore it and go back to listening to mom.

"You see Ash Laverna is the Roman Goddess of thieves.So you see we are not supers but descendants of Laverna.Our powers all relate directly to thievery.Now im going to name off the abilities that run in our family and I want you to just nod ok there's no need to interrupt because trust me I won't let you anyway."She says with a wave of her hand and a wink.

"Ok girls no more giving me shit about being scared of my mother."All of us had face of shock but both of them nodded.

"All right Ash first off do you have Enhanced reflexes, speed, strength, stamina, and eyesight?"I nod.

"Good what grades in each?"

"Class 3 in stamina and reflexes,Class 2 Strength,Class 1 eyesight, and advanced initial speed."I reply

Her eyes bulge and her mouth drops open in shock."My goddess you were blessed!Your abilities are impressive they are even better than practically everyone in our family at this point!Your cousins Roger and Lesley are the only ones that can somewhat match up to you!You beat them in strength and eyesight but their speed,stamina, and reflexes all surpass yours.Even my speed,stamina,and reflexes do.Barely but still."

"Wait Roger and Lesley have powers!?"I ask even though she already said it I still have a hard time believing it.She looks at me annoyed at the outburst waves her hand in a familiar motion and I can't breath again.She raises her eyebrow and I nod telling her to continue.

"As I've already told you yes they have powers all of my side does.Except for our spouses of course.Now lets continue.You can move silently I presume?"I nod."Good minor teleportation?"I nod again.She smiles.

"Now on to the last of our powers let me know which of these you have.Body control, Nightvision, thermal, x-ray, aura, or soul sight."I just nod again.

"Well which one?"she asks.

"All of them."I reply.

She goes quiet and stares at me shocked.And then suddenly yells."All of them!Ho-how is that even.....no no this is unbelievable!To think you got all of them normally when one of us gets our full powers we may get only one!On rare occasions 2 but you got them all!Ha take that Sophie I am rubbing this in so hard!

"Mom I don't think telling the Aunt Sophie I have powers is a good idea."I try to persuade her.

She gives me look like I'm stupid and replies."Of course it's a good idea everyone in our family will know your

Uncle Tom, Sophie, and Lesley.It's family tradition.We need to have places to fall back to.After all we are a family of thieves."

"Come again!?"Alita, Inari, and I reply.Of course she could only hear me.

"Well what did you think a family descended from a Goddess of Thieves would be.I mean all our powers make stealing easier and don't you get a feeling of satisfaction every time you steal?Hell your Aunt, Uncle and I stole half a billion dollars when we were younger."

I couldn't say anything I mean she is right it feels great when I steal.And now that I look at it my base powers are tailor made for theft.Wait did she just say half a fucking billion!?

"We are rich!?"I yell

She looks smug and nods."Our family are thieves Ash we all steal our own fortune eventually.I took a look at your bank account not bad by the way.Its only about 60 grand but still impressive.Now ask your questions."

Little annoyed she looked at my account but I did have a few questions."Why not tell cousin Roger about me but tell everyone else?"

Her face drops into a scowl."Roger is a failure he became a hero and tried to turn in your uncle.Now your uncle is on a federal watch list.Gratefully your uncle didn't tell him the family story.And before you ask Roger is Sleight."She says his name with disgust.

"Always thought he was a bit of a do gooder.What about Lesley?"

She smiles."Remember our goddesses name?"I smack my face and call myself a moron.

"Shes Laverna the master thief who has been stealing from every major art dealer in the city!The Mega force can never catch her."

Mom looks a bit smug."Of course not we never get caught. Hundreds of years and no one in our family has we're just that good."Pride was just oozing out of her.

"So what about Tim and Jack?"At that she looks a little down.

"They already awakened and I have talked with them but they both have peak enhanced on all fronts and they dont have anything else.Which is why I was so happy you got your powers.Your Aunt and Uncle are like me the only difference is I have Aura sight, Sophie has Nightvision, and Tom has X-ray."

"Ok last question.If we are rich why do I get such a shitty allowance?"

She laughs and say simply."You're lazy."

My eye twitched at that.Then she looks at me."Now explain to me how you appeared like that and why your clothes look that way."

I sigh and shake my head.I gotta figure out how to tell her without lying but not exactly telling the whole as her aura sight will fuck me if I lie.Eventually I gave her an abridged version of what happened up to this point.How I interrupted a ritual that ended with me getting extra abilities, how the mega force tried to recruit me, and how I just escaped from their moon prison.Of course I left out details like Alita and Inari and how Darkness slaughtered all those people.I just told her someone else did it and the Mega Force blamed me.Which isn't technically a lie.

What she was most interested in was the extra powers I only told her about my kitsune side but she said that some things happen.However when I showed her my tail and ears she attacked me and started petting me and rubbing my tail.Saying that I looked adorable and that from now on when dad wasn't home im to look like myself.When she asked about how I appeared I told her it was a spell someone told me.

All in all she took in stride.The mom that was the iron hammer my whole life was actually easy going what the hell is this!

"Still though are you sure that spell you escaped with worked?"She asked feeling uneasy

"I trust my source."I saw Alita light up at that.

"Good and we are going to get them for this and that sham of a trial.Who the hell do they think they are kidnapping my son!Those fucking bastards are gonna pay!"She had a look in her eye that I will remember my entire life as it scared the piss out of me.

"So I guess you are going to want me to train now huh."

She look at me and shook her head."If you need help sure but we Laverna always learn on our own.That way we have our own styles and don't copy each others habits.Now I'll call into school for you for the rest of the week so you can get some rest.From now on though you need to let me know when you are stepping out.I don't want to have to worry."She gives me a look and I nod.

After that she tells me to get some sleep and she will talk to me in the morning.I lay back on my back exhausted and think over everything that I've been told.

"Well at least we know why you got those extra abilities now.They were coded into your DNA and when you merged with us and gained Alitas holy abilities they must have unlocked due to your connection to a divine being.Well we gave you the week off and so did your mom so enjoy your rest.Alita and I are going to rest up as well."Inari pipes up.Then both of them disappear.I look in my connection and see them.

Well if they are gonna rest.....I look at my computer and smile.I get up and head towards it but then a flash happens.

"Oh c'mon what now!"

"What don't you want to play?"I turn and see Sam and Clare. Sam in a teacher's outfit and Clare in a Japanese schoolgirl outfit.

Well my computer can go fuck itself for a while.I smile and walk towards them.

"Ready for your lesson Ash."They smile with mischief.

Well its not rest but im not complaining.
