《The Once Simple Life of a Dungeon Skeleton》Chapter 4 - Actions Have Consequences

"So tell me again, how many are dead?"
An old man, looking to be in his sixties, with long white hair and an equally long beard sat at an old, worn desk starring intently at his subordinate that just delivered some troubling news. The young man who looked no more than sixteen was slightly sweating as the old man was starring a whole into the side of his head. He couldn't meet his gaze as he feared the old man would tear him apart. This old man was of course, James Nichye, Guild Master of the Warwic's Adventurer's Guild, the most famous Adventurers Guild in the country. The very thing that made this guild famous was a particular dungeon that it just happened to be named after. This dungeon also seemed to be having a problem that surfaced over the past month, a problem that was being discussed right now.
"Y-yes Sir, the reports have showed the deaths of eleven adventurers this past month. All of which happened on the first floor and the most recent being the deaths of five C ranked adventurers."
In response to hearing this James let out a sigh.
"Great, it looks like a monster from the lower floors somehow made its way to the first. Send an extermination unit to drag the thing out of the dungeon and deal with it. That way they won't have to bother chasing it back down to the floor it came from. Since it's on the first floor it'll be much easier to deal with. Oh, and make sure everyone in the unit is at least rank A, I want this dealt with quickly before any of the nobles find out. If they end up finding out about this before it's been dealt with there's going to be trouble, understood?"
"Yes Sir! I'll arrange to have it taken care of immediately!"
With that the young man left the office, closing the door behind him. James leaned back in his chair and stroked his beard.

"The last thing I need is some damn monster giving the nobles a reason to have me replaced with someone they pay. I'll die before I let this seat be taken by some foot-licking noble dog."

Skill learned: Sword Throw
'Ah Mother! So it is a skill I can learn!'
Since I fought those five adventurers I decided to take a little break to practice my new magic and learn some new skills. So far I've learned how to use my bow, daggers, and mace. I haven't gotten to the large axe yet but I planned on learning how to use it at some point. As for my spells, Frost Armor surrounds me in a cloak of frost that deals damage to any enemy that gets too close. Frost Bolt fires a small concentrated bolt of ice at any target I can see within range. Frost Blade enhances my weapon with frost and when it hits an enemy frost slowly spreads and freezes the area around the wound. Frost Ray fires a concentrated beam of ice from my palm and constantly drains mana while fired. Sadly my MP is only 22 now so I can only use two of these spells before I run out.
I thought about this after I killed those five adventurers and searched them to see if I could find something to restore my mana. I found two potions, one that had life force infused into it and one that had mana. I was thankful for my ability to see both life force and mana because with my current sight I probably wouldn't be able to tell which one I needed and which would hurt me. Normally adventurers just drink the potion for it to work but since I was nothing but bones I wasn't sure if it would work. My first idea was to just try and drink it like you would normally use a potion, this didn't work very well as only a tiny portion of the potion refilled my mana, the rest just fell to the floor. The second idea I had was to just smash the potion against the front of my face. This way the majority of it would touch my body. It worked, nearly all of my mana was refilled and I only had to use up two of the twenty potions I collected from the adventurers.

"So, they want us to go and kill this monster that somehow managed to get to the first floor?"
A man equipped in full plate, with a shield slung over his back and a large mace strapped to his side asked his companion as they walked toward the Adventurer's Guild. This man was Krusk Anstald a half-orc Paladin, standing at nearly seven feet. At the young age of 20 with a total level of 88 and class level of 50, Krusk was the highest leveled Paladin in the city of Tayton. Tayton was the capital city of the country Gaham. Krusk had short, brown hair, dark green eyes, a bit of a greenish tint to his skin, and a point to his ears. Krusk had much more human in him than most half-orcs do and if it wasn't for the tint to his skin some might even mistake him for a tall half-elf.
The woman to his side, Elen Enderwell, an elf druid with a total level of 74 and a class level of 46, stood at around five and a half feet. With long blonde hair, bright green eyes, long pointy ears, and smooth, milky-white skin, she was the perfect image of an elf.
"Yes, the Guild Master wanted it dealt with quickly because it killed a group of five rank C adventurers recently."
"I see, hmm."
Krusk stopped and thought for a second as he starred off into the sky.
"Well we still have some time before lunch and the two of us are much stronger than a handful of some useless rank C adventurers. So why don't the two of use just go take care of this monster ourselves?"
"Oh? Feeling adventurous today are we?"
"Not really, I just don't feel like going through the trouble of gathering everyone together to deal with a single monster. Plus it gives us some time alone together."
"How romantic, just you and me alone in a dungeon hunting down a monster."
"Hmph, if you didn't want to then all you had to do was say so."
Krusk turned his head and started sulking.
"Oh come now, when did I ever say I didn't want to? Let's go!"
Elen grabbed Krusk's arm and pulled him in the direction of the dungeon.

Skill learned: Dagger Throw
'Yes! I've learned another skill Mother!'
I just finished learning my last skill and started to gather up my equipment when I noticed two very large life forces enter my vision.
'Oh wow, they're really strong, and carrying plenty of magical items. Hmm, there's only two of them though, maybe I could take them?'
I thought about it for a moment but it would probably take only one hit from them for me to die. If I was going to fight them I'd have to prepare something in advance. While I tried to think of something I noticed they didn't bother taking the stairs to the second floor.
'Well that's odd, shouldn't they have moved to the second floor by now? Could they be looking for something on this floor?'
The only thing I could think of that two adventurers as strong as them could be looking for on this floor would be-
'Me? No that can't be it can it?'
