《Testament of Ezra》65. Power vs Power

Everyone didn’t know how to react to the appearance of the massive beast. It stood between both groups. From the monsters point of view it saw more monsters like itself, yet it was no fool. They understood that those monsters were unlike them. Something humane rest within them. To his other side he saw 4 men and 1 girl standing watching him in shock. Yet they were unafraid of him. However there remained a presence he was aware of. One that awoken him. It came from the church. Anabelle.

He started to move from the hole he emerged from. His large claws completed scaring the land with every attempt to pull himself out. Ezra was wondering why it was coming towards them. Yet his train of thought was cut off when he noticed a large wire being flung over the blights back. It fell onto his shoulder, then let out a power surge of electricity. The beast roared in pain and gazed back to the army. Some of the knights were ready to toss more of the large wires ready to hold the beast.

“Toss at will men!” Juro ordered. The wires were attached to a device operated by Hazelcrown. The knights flung the wires over the beast. To the end were hooks meant to dig into the monsters flesh and hold it in place.

“What the hell?” Ezra yelled seeing the actions of the men.

“This monster.” Miros began. “I’ve only heard about it in stories. But It has to be. The Blight of Wrath. Those horns and that serpentine tail. I never expected it to be real.”

“Blight of Wrath? I’ve never heard of anything like that.” Grimm cut in.

“I have.” Ezra commented. He then leapt from the city wall and started to run towards the beast. “We can’t let this asshole get the blight!” Ezra yelled and the others began to follow.

“Ezra what are you talking about?” Grimm asked running next to the dracion.

“I’m not sure, someone told me not to let Juro get the blight.”

“And you listened to them?” Grimm wondered.

“I didn’t want to but he spoke his mind anyway. Even so. What he said has been concerning me ever since we met. He told me not to let Juro get the blight of wrath." Ezra explained for the older man.

"Why would he tell you that?" Grimm pondered. Ezra shrugged, unable to give back a sufficient answer.

They all continued forth to aid the blight. Jumping to its help by slashing the wires around its body. The blight became aware of their aid. Yet continued to head forth to where Anabelle was. Juro and his men still had enough wire to spare. Yet the general knew the strength of his assailants.

“Hazelcrown send the monsters and Grimm, the boy, that girl, and is that Prince Miros?” Juro said, jumping from his position. He dashed over to the person he wanted to face the most. Ezra. He summoned his spiritual arms from behind and came to the dracion. Yet Ezra had far perceived him. The two clashed together. Ezra’s large sword versus Juro’s extra spiritual arms.

“You’re a fool for coming to me directly. Now I keep you from the blight.” Ezra boasted.

“Don’t even think for a second!” Juro yelled as he bounced off the dracion. Then came back with a punch meant for Ezra’s legs.

Yet the dracion evaded, taking a stance which put the fist between his legs. Ezra's sword came swinging to Juro’s face. The general's arms quickly protected him. Grabbing the blade. He then tried lifting the blade from Ezra’s hands, yet couldn’t even budge it. Instead the dracion lifted Juro from the ground, leaped into the air and swung the general into the ground. Once on the ground. He delivered a hard kick to the man, sending him flying back where he came. He landed right before his knights.

“All of you forward. Kill him!” Juro ordered. All of the knights followed with a hearty yell. They ran towards the dracion with their weapons ready to kill. Ezra felt a hand on his shoulder. Beside him appeared Katreena.

“Don’t worry. I got this. You focus on Juro.” Katreena said before she took her place before Ezra. The tall girl inhaled air to prepare herself. Once the knights were close she exhaled loudly, sending a massive roar into the enemies before her. Almost every knight in front of her was blasted back with massive force. However, the roar was unlike the blight which was beside them. It remained soothing like a gracious song. Though it remains painful for those hit by it.

Juro was not one of them. He charged out of the attack and tried going straight for the girl. Yet the dracion crossed his path again. The two resumed their combat. Ezra’s sword knocked the arms out of his way while he tried to summon thunderbolts down on the general. Juro’s assault was by focusing his fist into breaking through Ezra’s defense. Though he found it difficult to get the sword from Ezra’s hands. He tried to attack other regions of his body, yet the dracions speed blocked most of them.

Ezra noticed the man was primarily specializing in Force. Since he had used no spells. Due to this his defense was tough. Due to the numbers of arms Juro had more opportunities to attack. Which he did. He went for Ezra’s face, only for the dracion to take the bait. Blocking the attack with his sword and then getting a strike to the stomach. He was pushed back. Then Juro came in for his strike to Ezra’s face. Returning his kick from earlier back to him.

Grimm and Nicholai were confronted with the army of monsters. They attempted to keep the casualties to a minimum. Remembering the people still alive within the bodies of these beasts. Nicholai was upheaving the earth to send them knocking. Grimm had his scythe away and was using both his fist and his ice to freeze the monsters in place.

Katreena found herself struggling with the knights. They continued to come as she was striking the area around her to knock as many back as possible. Though it wouldn’t incaptaite many. She would only strike the ones that got to close, those were the ones that would go done in a single hit. Miros saw the girl facing the knights. The men and women meant to serve him, yet he saw them in the wrong. Wanting them to stop their assault due to being their prince. He jumped into the fray before Katreena.

“What the hell are all of you doing!?” Miros yelled as all of the knights stopped. The were all in awe of the sight of their prince who they believed dead for so long. “Why are all of you doing this? As you’re prince I order you to cease this at once!”

Juro and Ezra heard the prince's words. Ezra wondered if his orders were of any worth. Yet believed they could work. Juro, however, thought otherwise.

“Prince Miros. I thought that was you. So you managed to get away from Dreamlight. I’m glad to see you alive and well.” Juro began speaking to the prince.

“And you Juro. What’s compelling you to do these things? Don’t try to fool me about anything. You destroyed Shakes Town. I was there.” Miros put down before the general could try to deceive him about anything, one of the many things the prince was taught from his father.

“Oh you wish to know that badly. Well-” Juro began, before he was interrupted by the loud roar of the beast behind him.

The blight had its eyes on something from within the city. Anabelle. The mare had come from the church. She saw the beast head and torso over the city's walls. The two stared into each other's eyes. Yet the blight was not joyous to see the crimson mare. Heshattered the wires with his bare strength. They crashed to the floor as he began to charge forward.

Ezra jumped first to stop him. Running towards its tail to pull it away. He grabbed the large tail, it slowed the beast but not entirely. Grimm saw the young man's efforts. He retrieved the scythe from his back.

“Nicholai! Now!” Grimm called to the young man. Nicholai heard and prepared. He channeled his strength and summoned a massive pillar of earth to lift him into the air. The monsters immediately started to climb. Grimm’s scythe became encased in the element of ice. As everyone fought around him, he held the scythe above his head, and summoned a power he had not used for so long.

“Requiem Blizzard!” Grimm yelled as he swung the scythe. An enormous wave of ice shot in all directions. Nicholai summoned his spell simultaneously. He lifted Ezra, and the other of his allies into the sky with him. Casting this many other pillars so quickly cost him a lot of strength. Grimm’s ice started to freeze everything.

“I got this!” Hazelcrown yelled standing away from his device. “Crown of Heat!” Hazel summoned a massive ring around himself, Juro, and the knights. It generated a large amount of heat which counteracted Grimm’s ice.

Yet the knights were never Grimm’s target. The ice froze every monster completely in place, some of the knights met a similar fate. The blight itself was also kept in place. Unable to proceed with it’s assault. It soon stopped, and Juro stepped out the ring of fire. The savannah of Dolsrin was now a mere frozen wasteland, And Grimm had been left standing with no sign of fatigue from producing such a powerful spell. Instead he felt natural within the environment. Juro then caught wind of a group of the knights unable to be protected. They were frozen in place. Yet something was wrong with them.

He was unable to feel anything from them. The people before him had no longer felt as if they were alive. There was no mana coming from their bodies.

“You’re in my domain now. There aren’t many alive who can witness my Requiem Blizzard. And you aren’t one of them Juro.” Grimm taunted. Juro grew furious from the man's taunt. He readied to fight back. However the one who had the most fight left was the blight.

It’s body had not been fully frozen. He still had his eyes on the mare who inched closer and closer to the city gates coming to the monster. Yet since he was stuck within the ice he had no choice but to resort to something that would rid his gaze of the mare. His body started to glow with the same reddish color of his own skin. His nerves and veins becoming visible as a light went from his tail and started to make its way up to his head. Everyone else was able to feel the energy. It was a massive amount of Force, ready to burst from the beast.

“What the hell? He is gathering Force.!” Miros yelled.

“He’s going to aim it at the city!” Nicholai yelled back. Ezra then looked to the city and saw Anabelle coming from the church.

“Anabelle!” Ezra yelled as he jumped from his pillar and tried to stop the beast. He couldn’t let Juro get it. So he thought to get incaptiate it before it could do any damage.

“Men. Get the dracion.” Juro ordered seeing Ezra running. The knights all complied and immediately rushed over to kill the dracion. Ezra brought down his blade with a large blaze to stop any of the men coming at him. Yet more continued to come. They blocked his way to the beast, overwhelming him rather quickly.

“Katreena!” Ezra called for the girl’s help. Yet she didn’t respond. The dracion turned to where her pillar should have been and instead found her missing. He continues breaking through the men trying to find her to no avail. Only until he looked back to the city. The girl was standing on the gate. Right in front of the blight. She blocked Anabelle away from him.

“I need to pay Ezra and Nicholai back for everything they’ve done for me.” Katreena said to herself. She then let her arms out, then she mimicked the blights actions. A glowing light inside of her climbed from her long legs to her head. She closed her eyes and remembered herself singing at home. She felt herself the most necessary to do this since just like the blight she used Force primarily, and hoped to challenge it. Hoping to save the city.

At the same time the large blight and Katreena let out their roar. The beast was loud and screeching, while Katreena’s kept it’s soothing sound. The two roars collided. The snow, ice, and ground beneath that started to shatter from the impact of the. The blight was able to keep himself going, yet Katreena was already about to give in due to knowing she has never released this much energy before. Her teeth began to shake and lightly crack. Yet she held out.

Everyone was in unbelievable awe at the girl's strength. Ezra and Nicholai especially. Ezra mostly was excited by the strength. Nicholai was more bummed that someone else had such excessive power to show.

The blight had finally begun to slow down. His roar ended as he closed his mouth. Katreena doing the same. Once she finished, the girl was hunched over and bleeding from the mouth. She didn’t move, minus her body falling over and behind the city gates. Rendering her unconscious.
