《Testament of Ezra》53. An Animals Pain

Erza swam as fast as he could towards the bright red light. It was only located on the island closest to where he landed. Yet he found it much farther than he could imagine. He started to worry as he swam. The beast must have flown everyone off the boat, and if Anabelle flew this far from where they were last in the water, could she be alright. The thought of hoping to save her made the swordsman move quicker. Though his training taught him to move quickly and efficiently in the water.
The island came closer and closer. Once ashore, he cough up any of the water he ingested during his swim, yet was back to his feet rather quickly. He looked up. The light was much closer, almost enough to blind someone. Ezra cared less about his eyes. He knew that Anabelle was here. So he got closer to the light. He broke any tree in his way, and as he did the light gre brighter. Soon, he found a rock formation that was curved inwards. Within, he found the mare, Anabelle. She was lying on the floor. Her leg was broken, and some blood was coming from her mouth.
‘Ezra….” The mare called out painfully.
“Anabell!e!” Ezra yelled running over to her. He saw her wound. Immediately he placed his hands over the injury and did his healing spell. Anabelle started to feel a sense of relief as the pain started to go away thanks to the dracion. She knew Ezra was putting in way more effort to heal her than needed. “Are you alright? Can you stand?” The young man frantically asked.
Anabelle didn’t respond but instead stood up. He limped a little but was able to stay steady enough. Ezra stood and tried to keep her on balance. The mare rubbed her snout on the young man, showing both her state and gratitude.
“We should start looking for the others.” Anabelle said. Ezra wanted but worried about her limp. “I’m fine. For now.”
“Alright. Let’s move.” Ezra replied. He turned to find the closest way off the island and hopefully find his friends. However something familiar landed down before him. It was the same tentacle that dragged him into the ocean. The sea beast had found its way onto the small island with him and the mare. “Dammit.”
The two were able to see their attackers full body. The creature was tall yet still not the large beast Ezra had seen. It had numerous tentacles coming from it’s back. Ezra was able to count 12. It’s skin was a darker blue than the water. The lower half there were no legs or feet, yet more tentacles which the beast used to stand. The beast was a male, for they noticed no breasts or vagina on the creature.

The beast sent it’s tentacles down towards the two. Ezra jumped to action quickly. Generating a large slash knocking most of them back. The rest went to Anabelle. The swordsman quickly and shot a fireball toward the remaining. He landed and dashed forward. Jumping into the monster torso with his shoulder. Knocking the beast onto it’s back.
Erza didn’t wait. He ran over to its side, hoping to remove the beast of it’s head as quickly as possible. Yet he was not anticipating it’s tentacles being active. All twelve of them lifted the monster into the air and back on its stomach. It set its sight to Anabelle. It charged forward. First grabbing Anabelle with one of its arms quickly, then opening its mouth. Revealing it’s massive lines of sharp teeth that shined off Anabelle’s light.
As the beast came closer at great speed, Ezra came as well, witnessing the assault he ran over and lodged his right arm into the beast mouth, stopping it in its tracks. Ezra protected his arm with Force, though the monster's teeth still caused him pain without piercing through his skin. The young man’s sword stayed in his arm currently in the mouth of a beast. He dropped it and retrieved it with the other.
He raised the sword, piercing it into the beast torso. Due to its size it couldn’t go all the way through. Though Ezra was still physically capable to start pushing the monster back. He tore his arm from the beast mouth and grabbed the blades hilt with both hands and regained his footing. The beast found itself being lifted off the ground by the swordsman. With a mighty swing Ezra swung the blade and threw the beast back where it came, into the water.
“Anabelle. Shine your light brighter. It’ll let the others know where we are. Hopefully they also find the boat. I have to deal with this thing unless we want to end up on the bottom of the sea floor.” Ezra commanded the mare. Anabelle compiled without response, understanding Ezra’s idea. She did as asked. The red light came off harsher. However as Ezra looked forward he saw the water moving rapidly in a circular motion. He knew what was happening. The sea beast was preparing another attack.
“Dammit not that water tornado again!” Ezra yelled. “I’ve got something for you asshole!” The swordsman dropped his blade. He then moved closer to the shore. Both of his hands were put above him. A small flame emerged in both of them, but slowly it started to grow. Only into miniature sharp edges. He then aimed both hands at the water, right where he could see the water forming it’s whirlpool that would turn to a tornado. Two fire beams shot from his hands, completely going through the water. An intense flame came from the attack. The water was boiled in seconds from the flames.

The sea beast came to the surface covered in the boiling water. It howled in pain. Yet Ezra wasn’t ready to let it up. It continued to cry in pain as water got onto the wound on it’s torso left by the dracion. The beast turned and saw Ezra. It swam underneath the water then flew out back to the land.
Quickly it sent both its claws and it’s tentacles at the Dracion. Ezra evaded as well as he could, jumping back to reach his sword. Once he did, Ezra ended the battle. Once it was in his hand. He slashed downwards quickly. Cutting off not only one of the beast arms, but it’s three of it’s tentacles that got in the way. The beats cried out again in pain. It started to roll around on the floor agony.
“Dracion!” A deep voice called out to Ezra. Who was surprised the monster spoke to him. “Don’t think this means you’ve won. You might want to take a good look at the mare.”
The beast words made Ezra comply. He turned to see Anabelle in a dire state. Turns out one of the beast claws pierced the mare, and something was hurting her. She was back to how Ezra found her. However, the dracion now had all his attention on the mare. The beast took a chance to attack.
Yet it was unable. As an ice spear launched into its side. Grimm was the culprit. He was back on the ship with the captain, Nicholai, Katreena, Nicholai and Garnet.
“Back the hell off!” Katreena yelled as she saw Ezra in danger. The girl jumped from the ship and landed a punch to the beast. Knocking its head right into the ground. Nicholai came next, lifting most of the boiling water. Then covered the beast in it. It cried once more. Then started to crawl away as fast as possible. It retreated off the other side of the island and started to go back into the safer waters. It swam away at great speed. Leaving the party alone with an injured Anabelle.
“Come on. Get her on the ship!” Grimm yelled. Katreena came to Ezra’s aid and helped him lift Anabelle onto the ship. They quickly sailed off and back to their course. Though now everyone was standing over the mare who was in great pain. It was Garnet who looked just as concerned as Ezra.
“Katreena! Head to the kitchen and bring me the orangewater grass, lemons, tiger seeds and ponetillo fat! Nicholai you go help her!” Garnet ordered them.
“You heard her! Move!” Ezra and Grimm yelled to the two together. Making Nicholai and Katreena get the required ingredients.
“Grimm. You get the cauldron.” Garnet ordered Grimm next. He didn’t hesitate and moved. “And Ezra. You keep a healing spell on her. You're a Testament so I know you have one.”
Ezra listened to the woman and performed his healing spell again on the mare but didn’t let up. The others had some trouble getting the required items. Nicholai and Katreena found the kitchen nearly destroyed, while Grimm had to rummage through all the fallen debris in order to grab the large cauldron. Yet they managed to and returned to the deck with the items.
Garnet was looking over at the water like she was searching for something specific. Grimm returned first with the cauldron and set it down. He placed some wood underneath and lit a fire to get it going. Nicholai and Katreena returned with as much of the materials as they could salvage.
“Got it!” Garnet said as she placed her hands out. The water started to move, for she found a specific source of the natural spring needed to start the potion making process. She sent the water into the cauldron. The flames helped it start to boil. “Okay. You two cut open the lemons and drain the juice into the water. Grimm helps me mix the other ingredients.”
Everyone worked together. Nicholai and Katreena juiced nearly forty lemons, all the while Grimm and Garnet carefully laid each of the orangewater grass and ponetillo fat in. the started to mix it in turns for 30 minutes.
Once complete the ingredients dissolved the potion was completed as a bright yellow liquid. They poured the potion into a bowl and placed it next to Anabelle.
“Go on Anabelle. This should help.” Garnet said to assure the mare. Ezra stopped his spell as she sat up, then began to drink. She felt the lemon taste of it going through her mouth and into the stomach. As it did she felt the beast power fading from her body, but not entirely.
“I feel better, but there is still some within me.” Anabelle said worryingly.
‘Which is why we made so much. You’ll take the potion every few hours until we reach land and hopefully find a better cure.” Garnet explained.
“Oh. Thank you Garnet.” Ezra said in praise of the woman.
“Anytime.”
“Hey. Why did we get the lemons?” I don’t think the potion called for that. I’ve seen it be used before but never have I needed lemons.” Grimm asked the witch.
“Oh the lemons. They were just for flavor.” Garnet said laughing.
