《Testament of Ezra》47. The Woman in the Mountain

Ezra, Katreena and Granius kept their hold on the large weapon. They listened to the weapon finishing it’s charging phase. Yet, the metal which they held onto was beginning to burn their hands. They all felt the searing pain, and quickly acted. Removing Force from their lower bodies and placing it within their arms and torso.
Nicholai saw the three’s efforts. He sat up while holding his wound. The battlefield rage onward around him. He looked to the fallen princess. She was still unconscious.
Grimm saw their efforts as well. He sat down on the floor. Looking at the mountain, or perhaps past it. Virion gave him a confession he never believed would be possible, twice in one day. He thought to himself. It’s time to move forward. The man’s mind was made up, he stood and started to walk towards the village. All of his boys needed him right now.
Anabelle watched from the upper layer. Seeing the world that Ezra brought her into. Her lonely home of the forest, to the magical village of Fayspell. Going to the Loud yet energetic Dustgarde filled with people more like Ezra than she could imagine. Then Sarabell. A peaceful home that wasn’t hers, but she wished was. And lastly, the soaring skies of Cloudwick. To her, this one young man had endless bounds to reach and see. And she wanted to be there every step of the way with him.
The cannon summoned its energy, and fired. A massive white beam of energy shot out towards the mountain. The beam forced the battle to stop as it illuminated nearly everything. Nearly all who were within the cannon’s field of view were able to see its power. The beam struck the mountain. White cracks formed over the mountain. Then, it burst like an egg. Large and miniscule scale rock flew across the Freelands. The trees nearby had been blown to bits from its power. All that remained was just a large hole where the mountain once was.
Not everyone could see that massive hole, it wasn’t even a crater. It flowed down into the earth. Ezra especially remembered it. And grew surprised by it’s mere size compared to how he saw it. Anabelle was able to see the hole as well. Benneb, the mayor of Cloudwick, emerged from his home after being freed from the petrification spell. He walked out to Anabelle and saw the damage. His mouth agape. However, Anabelle felt the same power as before. She became weak again. Her legs slowly gave out. Something was disrupting her.

Then, a small tremor was felt throughout the battlefield. It came from the hole. Something then emerged from it. A enormous black arm rose high out of the hole. It slammed down to the ground, then another, and another, and another. Four massive pitch black arms. All of the were pushing something upward. A large head with as many large shining eyes as arms. !2 tendrils emerging from the back of the head. The body came out next. The figure was a woman,
Nothing covered her breasts or lower area. She brought her large foot onto the earth. The impact shook the ground as she moved. The titaness stood before the whole Freelands. Her body was much nearly longer than the Freelands it seemed. Her head over the clouds.
All that she could see was the top of Cloudwick, and Anabelle staring at her. The woman grew angry at the mare immediately. And Anabelle noticed. The dark skinned woman screamed, parting the clouds over most of the world. One of her arms lifted up and started to reach out to get to the mare. She closed in, yet. Ezra appeared before Anabelle. He stared at the titaness.
“You.” The woman spoke out to him. Ezra remembered the voice as the one who saved him. She instead. Turned her hand over, inviting the young dracion. He took it. Ezra rubbed Anabelle’s mane and then walked onto the open palm. She retracted her arm and brought Ezra closer to her face. Ezra examined every part of her. The softness of her skin, the brightness of her eyes.
She then raised another of her arms. On this hand, was the black knight. Ezra recognized him from Cloudwick. Especially the robe he wore, with the same crest as his. He turned to the woman.
“Thank you for freeing me.” She spoke to the black knight.
“It was nothing. Had some help from down there. So how about you don’t be mad at them.” The black knight replied.
“Can I go home?” She asked worryingly.
“That’s what I’m here for.” The black knight responded. Making the woman happy. “I just need one thing from you.”

The woman didn’t respond. Instead she raised her other two arms. Both palms laid out, then two small objects emerged from each hand. One a black triangle with gold writing in a language Ezra couldn’t understand. Another ,but a square, still in the same language. The two came to form one. And the Black Knight took it into his hand.
“The Charm of Famine.” The black knight spoke. “Thank you. Now. It’s time for you to go home.”
“You won't be coming?” She asked.
“I’ll be there soon. I have something to tend to.”
The titaness turned to Ezra.
“Young one. There lies so much for you. I only ask that you stray from her light. Others have fallen prey to what the light gives.” She advised Ezra. “Do not pray for safety. Only achieve it.”
“I already know that.” Ezra stated back, crossing his arms.
“That is good to know. If you stay by those words. Then you will meet the rest of my sisters. If you do not, then you will meet your doom.” The titaness addressed to him. She then lowered her arm downward. Allowing Ezra to reach the ground, as well as doing the same for the Black Knight.
Her gaze was brought back to Anabelle. All before turning her back on the mare, and the Freelands. She saw no place to meddle with human affairs. Her purpose was served.
Ezra however was left in the wake with the Black Knight, and he had questions.
“Hey.” Ezra called him.
“Yes, young dracion.” The black knight answered. Ezra was taken aback by his words. The man knew he was a Dracion. This made him flustered. He had no clue which question to ask first.
“Your robe. Why does it have the same crest as mine. Are you a Dracion as well?” Ezra decided to be his first.
“Oh. Well let’s just say me and a few dracions go way back. It was a bit of a gift.” The black knight answered. Not much of one to Ezra, but he took it.
“How far?”
“Long before you were born kiddo. And long before many others too.” Ezra couldn’t make it all out in his mind.
“What is that thing she gave you?” Ezra chose his next question. The knight put up the object.
“Oh this. This. Is the Inera Charm of Famine.” He answered. The answer was confirmed for Ezra. This was the item that sparked the whole battle taking place.
“Wait...but-” Ezra was cut off.
“Look kid I know you have a lot of questions. And I don’t have much time. Need to go see someone, and it;s not the Doraminque that just left.
“Doraminque?” Ezra questioned. Yet didn’t receive an answer as the knight turned away. FOr his mare returned to him. Ezra caught a look at the horse, and noticed the similarities to Anabelle. Except for the dark skin as opposed to Anabelle’s red skin. The knight mounted the mare. “Wait!”
“Sorry Ezra. Both of us have things to do. And don’t forget to head home in time for the ceremony.” The knight said before riding off. Ezra wanted to give chase, but was planted down after hearing the man’s last words.
The dracion tried to consume all of the information. His mind raced all over. The only thing he could be certain about was that the cannon didn’t kill anyone. He was hungry for more answers. The black knight, the dragon rider, the ceremony, the Doraminque, the battle.
The battle. Both captains had been defeated, as well as the princess. The cannon had been dealt with. The remaining soldiers would be quick work. Ezra felt his journey becoming more than he hoped for. His legs started to give out but he didn’t fall. He remained standing, and decided to move forward. Just as he needs too.
