Hell Hospital (Part 2-Boss Fight: The Bloodwolf)
--- Maya ---
“Fine. Fine. You know what? Whatever.” She told Decker. “Just kill the thing and get out of my way.”
“If that’s what you want.” Decker shrugged before giving his Beat Bear a nod and snapping his fingers, causing the two to seemingly disappear in a swirl of pixels as the bear tore out the Bloodhound’s throat.
Her eyes drifted around the room as she slowly backed towards the exit, watching and waiting until-
A large red tear opened in the air, sending out a spray of what looked like blood as a clawed hand twice the size of any of the Bloodhounds tore its way into reality before a second claw gripped the edge of the tear and began prying it open in a continuous spray of the pseudo-blood.
As the tear opened wider and wider she was eventually able to make out the snarling face of an overgrown Bloodhound, its face covered in scars and one of its eyes seemingly dead.
Seeing an opportunity as the Creep clawed its way to freedom she raised her Hand Cannon and fired several bolts of lightning at the stationary target. Hoping to deal some damage before it managed to really get loose into this world.
Rather than simply standing there and taking it, the beast lunged forward, leaping through the gap it had tore open and letting it snap shut with a sickening squelch as the Creep landed on the ground, swinging its massive claw to tear her into shreds.
Stumbling back, she saw sparks as the beast's claws grazed across her chest plate leaving two grooves in it as she backed out of the archive exit. Escaping only because the Bloodwolf’s massive size meant it had to struggle through the door frame.
A struggle that gave her plenty of time to heft her Heavy Weight off of her back and swung it at the Creep’s head, being sure to kill the Grav-Generator’s power so that it would hit with its full momentum.
When her Heavy Weight hit the Bloodwolf’s head she saw several teeth fly out of its maw in a spray of blood that also knocked the beast’s head against the doorframe.

Unfortunately, her general lack of experience with swinging the scrap hammer combined with its sudden weight, also -“Oh, shit!”- sent the Heavy Weight flying from her hands and crashing into the wall a fair bit past the Creep Boss.
A growling snarl tore from the Bloodwolf’s throat as it turned its hateful hellfire eyes onto her, and she couldn’t tell whether the fear she was feeling was from the Creep’s fear effect or if this was simply her natural reaction to facing an angry predator more than twice her size.
Barely thinking about it, she raised her Hand Cannon up to the Creep’s face and proceeded to blast it with as much sound as she could, once more knocking its head against the doorframe. Only this time instead of simply taking it with a snarl the Bloodwolf tore its arm through the frame making the doorway large enough for its massive form to pass through.
“Oh, fuck!” She cursed scrabbling to back away from the Boss Creep before it could get its claws on her.
The Bloodwolf began to growl and the world around her began to spin as her heart stopped in her chest, causing her to stumble and fall on her ass as she suddenly found it impossible to breathe.
All around her the shadows began to creep and crawl, whispering in her ear dark and terrible secrets as words seemed to flicker on the edge of her vision. And she knew, just knew that something she could not perceive was watching her with over seven hundred and sixty five eyes from beyond the seas of madness.
“Oof, you are having a bad reaction to that one.” A voice commented as something swatted the back of her head.
“W-wha?” She asked, her heart still pounding and fear still clouding her mind, even if nowhere near (whatever the fuck) that was.
“Psionics and M.A.D.s can really screw with each other.” Decker explained, standing in a nearby doorway as he examined his nails. “Also I’d dodge, if I were you.”
“¿Qué?” She blinked, before something grabbed her by the leg and proceeded to slam her into the wall, knocking the wind out of her and bruising half of her body. A half that was quickly followed by the rest as she was thrown into the other wall.

“Fu~uck!” She coughed, hitting the ground with an impact that did nothing to help her pain.
Rolling onto her back she had just watched the Bloodwolf rise onto its back legs with both of its arms raised, ready to bring them down and crush her in the ensuing impact.
She also watched an opening appear.
Reacting as quickly as she could, she swapped her hand Hand Cannon to Light and raised it towards the Creeps face where she unleashed a blast of light, interupting its attack and causing it to stagger back as it shook its head.
Forcing herself onto her feet she rushed forward before ducking between the massive Bloodwolf’s legs and making a break for her Heavy Weight as the creep thrashed about behind her.
Grabbing her Heavy Weight she tried to pry it out of the ground, only for the scrap hammers’s immense weight to keep it locked in place. “Shit, where’s the-” She accidentally hit the weapon’s grav-generator switch as she pulled on it causing the hammer to fly into the ceiling before crashing to the ground behind her.
A sound that the Bloodwolf did not miss as its head snapped to the side before the massive Creep began to turn around to face her.
“Fuck, that’s not good…” She groaned, before picking up her Heavy Weight and facing the Boss Creep.
The Bloodwolf began to growl and- This time she shot it in the face before it could fear lock her.
“Going to have to try something else, pinche cabrón.” She told the pain in her ass as she kept one hand aimed at it in case it tried the same thing again.
The Bloodwolf narrowed its eyes at her as it got onto all four with a (thankfully) mundane growl.
“Right… Guess we’re doing this then…” She nodded, feeling a dull ache across her entire body as she gripped her Heavy Weight with both hands and eyed the Boss Creep down.
They both stood like this for several moments, neither willing to make the first move and open themselves up to the other’s counter as they stared each other down.
She wasn’t entirely sure which of them broke first, but a twitch of muscle had them both rushing forward towards the other.
The Bloodwolf kicked off the ground to tackle her to the ground, but she dropped to the ground and slid as the massive Creep flew overhead before raising a massive claw to rip her to shreds as it skidded on its heel and turned its head straight into her Heavy Weight.
Only unlike the last time she swung the cumbersome weapon, she didn’t lose her grip on it leaving her free to follow up with a second blow to its head and then a third, a fourth, and as blood continued to fly from its maw with each strike she slowly lost count as she became solely focused on beating the Bloodhound to death.
“Alright, gamer girl, that's enough.”
She jumped as a hand touched her shoulder and spun on her heel to face the new threat, only calming down when she realized she was looking at Decker watching her with an odd if soft look.
“You’re safe now, it’s dead.” Decker told her, as she panted from the exertion of what she’d just done.
She blinked, before repeating. “It’s dead?”
“Yeah, it’s over. You killed all of the Creeps and dealt with the Bleed.” Decker nodded, before giving her a smile. “Your base is safe, and you saved the day.”
“That’s… that’s good.” She said, not really sure of what else she could say, given how any hype she had was swiftly suppressed by her aching… everything.
“Yep, you survived your first fight with something actively trying to kill you.” Decker agreed with a pat of her shoulder. “Congratulations, you now know what it's like to be a Mask.”
