《The baby swap》Epilogue

*THREE MONTHS LATER*
Zoe's POV
Only two months away from our wedding.
My parents felt excluded throughout the process of my pregnancy, so they decided to force their way to make sure everything was the way they wanted for the wedding ceremony. This meant that even deciding on a simple fork just became harder, to say that we still had a couple of things to plan was an understatement.
Thanks to Alexander's business savvy skills, my business has been doing extremely well.
We were back at our house now. We invited everyone over for a barbeque today, Alex ran out of excuses of why everyone else shouldn't meet the baby yet. I invited Rafael as well, but he said he was busy and wouldn't be able to make it, Alex and Rafael are still not the best of friends, but I could tell they were slowly warming up to each other.
Everything in the house was already prepared including the snacks, the guests just hadn't arrived yet.
Alex was holding Jake on the couch while going through some work documents.
I smiled at the sound of the doorbell.
I hadn't seen everyone in a while, I was curious as to how everyone was going to interact.
I opened the door to a smiling Justin.
I liked having him around, it meant we could both annoy Alexander.
"Nice to see you again Zoe," He spoke stepping into the room.
He welcomed himself into the house holding a bottle of gin.
He went straight to the living room where Alex was.
"I thought I was clear that there was strictly no alcohol allowed," Alex spoke.
"It's for me, my girlfriends broke up with me. They both found out the truth and now they are dating each other. You don't need to blow your happiness in my face." Justin answered.
Justin sighed sitting next to Alex.
"What is this now, she carries the baby for nine months now it's your turn to do your nine?" Justin joked.
"It's called good parenting," Alex answered.
"Let me meet my godson first," Justin spoke.
"Okay, you have to go and wash your hands first," Alex spoke.
Justin looked at him stunned.
He was making everyone wash their hands first. "It's two doors down the hall on your right." Alex continued.
"You are kidding right?" Justin spoke.
"No, I don't want any germs you might have anywhere near my baby," Alex answered.
Justin sighed. "It's okay, you can keep treating me the way that you do. But guess what, there will come a day when your son is going to ask me how he was made, and I will just have to tell my cute little cute godson the truth." Justin stepped away heading to the bathroom.
"You are officially demoted from all godfather duties," Alex yelled after Justin.
I looked at my watch wondering why everyone else still hadn't shown up yet.
Two minutes later Justin was back.
"Will you let me see the baby now," Justin spoke reclaiming his spot next to Alex.
I'm sure if he could. Alex would take a microscope to see if any germs were remaining on his hands.
Alex slowly handed the baby to Justin.
"Wow, he is the first baby I've seen that I don't have to lie that he looks cute," Justin commented.
"All babies are adorable," I retorted.
"Only to their parents, everyone else knows the truth." Justin joked. "With Alexander's genes, this baby is good-looking by default. I must say, Zoe, you saved the day with your genetics. Otherwise, the poor kid would have been stuck looking like Alexander, no one wants that."

"Just give me back my child," Alex spoke, ready to snatch the baby from his arms.
"Fine, you are more protective than a hen is with her chicks," Justin commented, as he handed the baby back to Alex.
Justin quickly diverted the subject.
"How are you and your brother doing, you do realize that now you owe him right?" Justin spoke.
Something told me he was only saying this to annoy him.
Surprisingly, he wasn't drinking any of the alcohol he brought. I guess making Alex feel worse made him better.
"He is not my brother, we just have the same mother," Alex retorted.
"So, what do you call that?" I asked with a bit of amusement.
"Someone who is not my brother," He repeated adamantly.
"So, your mother got down with Sebastian? I still can't believe it." Justin spoke.
Alex blocked his eyes. "Don't ever say that again," Alex warned. He glared at Justin.
"I think I'm going to go and check on Jake's diaper," I laughed getting off the couch.
"You know what, I can do this," Alex spoke getting ready to leave with the baby.
"I got this, I can change my own child's diaper," I answered.
I reached my hands out taking Jake from Alex.
Alex spends too much time with the baby, and sometimes I worry Jake will like Alex a lot more than me.
I looked at my watch again, I wonder why Reina and Abby still hadn't arrived.
Maybe I should call them, they were probably on their way. It's strange because not even JoJo was here.
I quickly wrapped Jake into another clean diaper. I still can't get used to saying Jake-Adrian.
I returned to the living room to find Alex and Justin deep into conversation.
"I was at your office the other day, I didn't see you there," Justin spoke.
"I'm working from home now," Alex answered.
"Let me tell you the key to a happy marriage, stay away as much as possible. You are aware that most people can't stand you right?" Justin spoke.
"Says the guy who couldn't keep his two girlfriends apart without getting caught," Alex answered.
I glared at the two of them.
"Not that I'm recommending it," Alex added.
Sure, Alex could be a bit extra sometimes, but he did everything with good intentions. I can still remember how he grilled those poor ladies applying to be Jake's nanny, JoJo joined in with the fun. In the end, none of them got the position.
"I like having Alex around," I answered sitting Jake in the stroller.
"You can be honest with me, what is it that Alexander has on you?" Justin spoke.
"He only stole my heart," I answered.
Alex smiled.
"She is lying. I'm sorry to say, but if your fiancé still hasn't married you yet after a three-month engagement then it's because she is probably changing her mind." Justin continued.
"Don't listen to him, I'd marry you today if I could." I smiled.
"Really?" Justin spoke.
"Yes," I answered.
"Well, I have a surprise for you," Alex smirked.
I looked at the two of them confused, experienced told me they were up to something.
"Come on, we have to get going." Alex rose to his feet.
He took Jake from the stroller along with my hand.
Justin smiled leading the way. He was the first to leave in his car.
I wonder what the two of them were planning.
Alex strapped Jake into his car seat, smiling to himself.

I sat in the passenger's seat trying to figure out all the possible things they could be up to.
The car ride lasted nearly two hours; I was surprised Jake was able to sit still for so long.
Alex stopped the car, I took in my surroundings to see nothing and no one in sight, just a dusty road with grass on the side and a couple of trees. I could tell there was a building behind the trees.
"You have to close your eyes," He spoke handing me a blindfold.
I sighed stepping out of the car.
Alex held Jake as he waited on me to put on the blindfold.
Another surprise, what was he planning this time?
I wonder what it was, surely, I hadn't forgotten my birthday, it was still a week away.
I put on the blindfold.
"Can you at least give me a clue as to where we are going?" I asked.
Alex had his hand around my waist guiding the way.
"Nope," He answered.
"Not even a small clue," I insisted.
"Come on, we are almost there," Alex spoke.
I could hear Jake babbling.
We walked for nearly ten minutes before we finally stopped.
Alex took the blindfold off.
The first thing I saw was the wedding signage reading: Welcome to Zoe and Alexander's wedding.
"What?" I whispered surprised.
"Surprise!" I heard a crowd yell.
I turned around to find all our families and friends gathered together.
So, this is where everyone was.
"What is happening?" I asked Alex, still in shock.
"You said you would marry me today didn't you." He laughed over my shoulder.
I covered my mouth in astonishment. I could have foreseen anything else but this.
Our family and friends approached us, all giving their congratulations.'
Sebastian approached us.
"Is that him?" Sebastian asked looking at Jake.
I nodded.
"Let me hold him," Sebastian spoke.
Alex sighed handing him the baby.
Jake immediately started crying in Sebastian's arms.
"It's probably just because he is tired," I commented.
The poor kid was in his seat for the last two hours.
"Maybe he just doesn't like you," Alex commented standing beside me.
Alex took the baby from him, Jake immediately calmed down.
I kind of felt bad for him.
Alex is nice enough to be around Sebastian now, but he won't stop throwing nasty comments at him.
Sebastian returned him to Alex after trying to rock him in his arms a couple of times.
Abby and Reina rushed toward me.
"Come on Zoe, we have to get going. There is so much that we still need to prepare for." Reina grabbed my arm.
"Don't worry, Jake will be well taken care of," Abby added.
They dragged me, walking me into the dressing room, where a whole squad was waiting.
"Why didn't you guys tell me anything?" I asked the two of them.
"We wanted it to be a surprise," Abby answered.
"You could have at least given me a hint. You have a surprise birthday party for someone, not a surprise wedding!" I exclaimed.
"You have to admit it was good, besides, this whole thing was sort of a last-minute decision, we managed to pull it off," Reina spoke.
They sat me down as they instructed the make-up artist on what to do with my face.
Everyone seemed to be in a rush around me, someone doing my nails and another person trying to do my hair.
Reina and Abby already had their hair and make-up done.
"I was thinking, what if this was one of those cruel telenovelas where the insemination clinic didn't make a mistake and that it isn't Alexander's baby," Abby spoke dramatically.
"Don't even mention that, Murphy's law. Besides, the kid is like a little Alex 2.0 there is no way it's not his child." Reina spoke.
"You are so lucking; do you know of any guy who proposes five weeks into a relationship? What have I been doing wrong?" Abby spoke.
Everything was happening so fast, faster than I would have anticipated.
"Do you think we are making a mistake?" I asked tearing my gaze away from the mirror.
"Of cause not, you two love each other," Abby answered.
"Plus, we threatened Alex with a slow and painful death if he ever did something wrong. I'm pretty sure it will all be alright." Reina added.
"When you officially become Mrs Forbes, you need to introduce me to all your husband's single rich friends." Abby joked.
After my make-up, they helped me slip into the dress. It was an A-line open-leg dress with a sharp v-neckline and straps that crossed my back, it was the first dress I saw and wanted but my mom wouldn't agree to it.
After that, Reina and Abby slipped into their dresses.
I looked into the mirror for the final product, my hair in a soft twisted updo, I looked amazing.
"You look gorgeous," Reina and Abby spoke in aww.
My parents walked into the room, both looking excited.
"I'm so nervous," I admitted looking into the mirror.
"Well, you already live with the guy so what's the problem?" Mom asked. "I just hope that God forgives you and that you don't burn in hell." Mom looked at me horrified.
"Your mother is only joking," My dad interjected. "But seriously, we have to get you to that alter before another grandchild comes along." He laughed.
Both Reina and Abby were trying to contain their laughter.
If I wasn't nervous, I surely was now. They surely had a way of pep-talking a bride into walking the alter.
"It will all be okay; besides, he is marrying you without a prenup. The worst-case scenario is that it doesn't work out and you end up a billionaire." Abby spoke.
They all nodded. They had a way of 'not' making me look like a total gold digger. If these were their assumptions, I wonder what the tabloids would be saying tomorrow morning.
"You look, gorgeous honey," Mom spoke. "I think it's time for everyone to clear the room now, the wedding is about to start." Mom clapped her hands.
Soon the room was cleared, with just my father and me.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Just remember, I'll always be there to hold you. With just one word and I'll call off this whole thing." He smiled.
"Thanks, dad," I whispered.
He pulled me into a hug. "I didn't think that you would grow up this fast." he sobbed.
This hug was more for him than it was for me.
He finally let go of me.
"Come on, let's get you married." He smiled.
I took one last deep breath as my dad and I walked out of the room.
The violin began playing as my father and I began walking down the aisle.
Everyone stood up turning their attention towards us.
The place looked amazing, it was in an open field with only a few trees in the further distance, it was decorated with flowers all lining up the alter.
And there he was, Alex standing at the alter looking as handsome as ever.
I held onto my dad's hand a little bit tighter.
I noticed the guests who all had their attention on me.
Sebastian gave me a nod of approval.
I noticed Cindy sitting two rolls from the front, Logan at her side and the little baby bump she had. I guess they must have figured things out.
Rafael had also brought along a date.
I returned my attention to Alex who had his eyes focused on me the entire time.
I felt like I couldn't get to him faster.
I noticed my mother crying in the background, right next to my brother.
We finally approached the alter.
"Take care of her," Dad whispered to Alex.
Alex nodded shaking my dad's hand, he then walked to his seat.
I stood there beside him, ready to begin with the ceremony.
"We are gathered here today to witness the union of...." The priest started.
Sure, we had some things to work on, but I was willing to work on them for the rest of my life with him.
A year ago, I was only expecting to have a baby, but I found love as well.
Things couldn't be better.
