"RAAA!"
Yuumi throws her hands forwards as two polished jet-black chains extruded from her arms.
"Where'd her blades go?" Mimi's eyes shifts as she leaned toward the arena in awe.
"Possibly a mode-change, one of the perks of being a specialty class." I turn my head around to see Dai sitting behind me, Natsumi at his side.
The green-haired boy looks over at me and then back towards the fight.
The chains rush toward Usui as he twists and turns nimbly, dodging the chains.
Yuumi's eyes widen, a glint of red can be seen in her pupils
—SHING SHING SHING
The chains turn mid-air and wrap around Usui.
"AHAHA! NOT THIS TIME!" Yuumi thrusts her arms into the air as her impaired opponent starts to fly into the air.
Once he's high enough to be seen by the officials and high-ranked knights, he's slammed in the ground.
Dust and debris fly from his landing location.
Yuumi chains zip back into her arms as the dust clears.
Usui attempts to get up, but his left arm facing away from his body and right arm twisted backward doesn't allow him.
Not wasting any time, she runs towards her opponent.
"GAAAAH!" Usui throws his mace in her direction in a desperate counterattack.
Yuumi moves her head slightly as the chains whisk past her face. Sparks of fire could be seen scratching her armor.
She then grabs the chain connecting the mace and snaps it in half. The mace, now behind her, falls to the ground.
She grabs the mace's chain and throws it at her immobilized foe.
— GUSH
Usui turns to his right arm as blood streams from the gash created from his own mace.
"Aah! AAAAAH!" He falls to the ground in pain as his head lay in his own meshed arm and blood.

Yuumi throws a chain toward him and wraps it around his torso. Crunching could be heard as it tore into his armor and broke his skin, leaving hints of blood around his body.
"I SURREN—" Usui pleads with his attacker but gets thrown into the air.
Yuumi throws her hands down. The momentum brings his entire body crashing into the coliseum's walls.
"EEEK!"
A woman screamed from the sight of Usui's mangled face being revealed in front of her from the stands.
Yuumi picks him up and throws his body to the left and right of the arena's walls.
"AHAHA!" Her devious laugh echoed through the arena.
The crowd starts to murmur with uneasiness.
"S-should someone stop…her…?" Mimi looked up to the floating platform.
The knights and esteemed generals seem pleased with her performance.
Calina could be seen smiling as she licked her lips.
Yuumi whipped the torn and disfigured body into the arena once more and lands it directly in front of stands where the other competitors sat.
The top of Usui's head is shown to us as his teeth are clenched into the wall of the arena. Two teeth fall from his mouth as his eyes look away from each other.
Yuumi whips her arm as the chains come flying back to her hand.
The crowd stares without a single person celebrating its new victor.
"Give it up for this round's winner: Yuumi Yato!" Calina's voice echoed through the silence.
A few claps and cheers could be heard throughout the arena, but the majority sat in awe of what they just witnessed.
"… Hope that girl was watching because she's next."
Yuumi walks towards the coliseum's main door.
Three cloaked individuals teleport to Usui's body.
"Agah.." The boy's voice is muffled by his mouth stuffed into concrete.

One of the cloaked individuals raises their hand as a small brown rune appears. Usui's body is slowly torn from the wall. Blood streams down from his mouth as another tooth falls from his gums.
They quickly vanish in rays of light as blood continues to drip from in front of us.
"I hope he's going to be Ok…." Mimi softly says under her breath.
Looking down, I rise from my seat and walk towards the coliseum's stairs, my eyes glare with ferocity.
"… Momoko?" Mimi says while looking with soft eyes.
. . .
White-bricked walls layered the coliseum's inner walls, being shielded by red and blue banners. The floor was made of grey concrete, making by boots perform a clicking sound with each step I take.
The smell of different meats and pastries wavered in the air tempting the fans of the arena.
But my focus couldn't be swayed by food.
I turn down the hall and see a group of people surrounding a girl with red hair. They all wore content expressions while patting her on the back.
"… Heh, I am pretty awesome!"
Yuumi was probably the most content of them all.
I push through the crowd and step into her field of vision.
She flashes me a smirk then starts to move toward me.
"Came to congratulate me on my performance?"
I tilt my head towards the right and beckon her to follow with a quick glance.
"Alright, guys, it was nice meeting you!" Yuumi waves to her fans, walking backward.
She catches up to me as I put my back near the entrance to the coliseum's sitting area.
"… Next Up: Natsumi Nakamura versus Mimi Morishige!" A loud voice blared through the arena.
The crowd's earsplitting chants and shouting could be heard once more.
"What the hell was that Yuumi?"
She turns to me as her smile fades into an irritated expression.
"Whaddaya mean? I just put on a show, so we get in good with the higher-ups. You should've seen Calina's face; She was grinning ear-to-ear!"
I sigh and look towards the stands.
"We're supposed to be here trying to SAVE people, remember? Not trying to look like bloodthirsty maniacs who like to fight—"
—CRICK
My head turns back to Yuumi with her teeth pressed together and fists clenched.
"Helena promised me… That I could take out my anger from my last life in this world. So before you come over here acting as if you know me—THINK AGAIN!"
She turns towards the stands and starts walking down the steps to the lower stands.
'Guess… I don't know that much about you…'
My boots click as I lift myself from the wall and walk towards the stand's entrance.

They'll need to depend on each other more than ever if they hope for their new home to have any kind of future. In case you missed it, here's book one. ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.
