《System Error (LitRPG Reincarnation ft. Copious Amounts of Blue Boxes)》Chapter 57: Forgotten War

Can you hear me?
who are you
Ugh, I can feel you throwing that W Inertia around like it's candy. Stop trying to attack me with it. Also, stop wasting it.
I'm just gonna get you out of this message box for now. Whatever you're using to hijack my message, it feels malicious as fuck.
P-System Log
That was fucking weird. That thing leeched onto my message box. However it got in there, it was certainly not natural, because there isn't supposed to be a fucking green box inside my DMs.
Getting it out was pretty simple, because it was just an application of W Inertia that I admittedly haven't seen before. Still, it's got a bunch swirling around, and I think I can interface with it.
Maybe this time, it'll be less intrusive.
.. / .-. . .--. . .- - .-.-.- / .-- .... --- / .- .-. . / -.-- --- ..- - .-. .- -. ... .-.. .- - .. --- -. / -- --- -.. ..- .-.. . / ..-. .- .. .-.. ..- .-. . .-. . . -. --. .- --. .. -. --. communicate(); i repeat. who are you P-System Broadcast A System. It would appear you are the same. P-System Log
It communicates in Morse code, because of course it does. Come to think of it, I remember that Translator Beast activating its skills in Morse. That's interesting, especially because I'm pretty sure that Morse code is an Earth thing. While I can buy another world using symbols that kind of approximate Morse--dots and dashes and all that--it's entirely too much of a coincidence that the green System (G System?) communicates with something that is 1:1 Earth Morse code.
A lot of things aren't lining up, and I think I might have my first theory why. It's a bad theory, but I think there's a possibility that more Systems are reincarnators than we realize. That doesn't explain why this one decided to just talk in Morse code, but it would explain why so much stuff here is remarkably Earthlike.
Also, I have a broadcast feature. That's nice to know. Didn't even realize until I tried to DM it and realized I couldn't.

are you hostile P-System Broadcast Only if you are. Who are you? verifying [.--. . .-. .--. . -. -.. . .-. .] successful activation. P-System Log
Fuck me, that's a lot of W Inertia. It doesn't seem to be actively malicious, though? Given that it just said that it was verifying, I'm going to assume this is its version of a [Unique] level [Assess] or something.
Wait, if I examine that closer, that's not a [Unique] skill. That is very clearly something else. Is it exclusive to the G System? I don't think I've seen a skill with a rarity of that color before.
you tell the truth P-System Broadcast And you tell me shit without proper grammar. P-System Log
Oh, fuck, that part might actually have an explanation. My Morse isn't the best, but even I could tell that the communicate() thing it did was a little funky. Maybe it's translating directly from Morse? I don't think that would allow for much translation of proper grammar...
Or maybe it's just lazy.
i need your help P-System Broadcast You still haven't answered my question. Who are you? ask not who, ask what P-System Broadcast Okay, then what are you? Please stop testing my patience. I'm this close to just getting Jerome to kill you.
a system
the last of us
P-System Broadcast "Us" being... - .... . / ..-. .. .-. ... - / ... -.-- ... - . -- P-System Broadcast Okay, I can't read that, but I'm going to assume that's what your overarching System was called. Were you like me? A System assigned to one person?
i was a .... --- .--. .--. . .-. or hopper in your language
i killed i moved i survived the war
Party Chat
[K]: A war?
[Thron of the Fallen Skies]: Ain't never heard anything about that.
[Aster K'lon]: I do not recall a war in our histories that involved anything beyond the R and B Systems.
[Arcs S'tar]: Nor have I.
P-System Broadcast What war? I wasn't told anything about this.
the only war of the ages
system dominance
how have you never interfaced with it
P-System Log
Oh, there is something fucky going on here. A war that only one person--well, System, I guess--remembers? The last fragment of an apparently extinct race?
Combine that with the weird shit that the Origin System has been doing to my mind...
Hmm. Much to think about.
we were torn apart P-System Broadcast Torn apart? Like, the System you were a part of was destroyed? the pieces of -.... . / ..-. .. .-. ... - / ... -.-- ... - . -- were killed P-System Broadcast Okay, you were talking about System wars. So that means the R System killed you?
the reds, the blues, the oranges, yellows, greys, many more
i fault them not for it, such is war
but now only i remain
P-System Log
Shit. It seems pretty obvious when you have the context of this thing existing, but I didn't even think about the existence of Systems of other colors. Fuck me, there's more of them?
Well, not in this part of the world, at the very least.
Party Chat
[Aster K'lon]: That sounds incorrect. From my observations, the entirety of the Continent is occupied by either the R or B System.
[Arcs S'tar]: I have never seen any opposing Systems other than the R Beasts.
[Jerome Smith]: And this thing now, I guess.
P-System Broadcast We only know of the R System. You're saying there's more?
there once were many, but now there are few
the surviving few are scattered or cloistered
P-System Broadcast And you're the sole survivor of the green System?
i need your help to stay alive
please
i know many things you do not
P-System Broadcast And what do you need, exactly? a host P-System Broadcast Aren't you inhabiting a Dungeon Core right now? Is that not a host?
the life of a parasite is insufficient
i require a vessel with more power to sustain myself
P-System Broadcast Sustain yourself?
as a system, you know what i mean
i need more of the mana that is not mana
P-System Log
Holy fuck, is it eating W Inertia?
I'm not going to ask that outright. The last time I tried to mention W Inertia to someone else, the System shut me down hard. It's fucking annoying and has terrible implications for my ability to even fucking think for myself, but I can't let myself get wrapped up in those for now. All I know is that while the Origin System isn't my enemy, it certainly isn't my friend either.
P-System Broadcast What kind of host would suffice for you?
i detect one that would be suitable
it is broken and carries pieces of others that will offer less resistance
P-System Broadcast Are you talking about the fucking Dungeon Core? I thought you just said that one of those isn't enough. this one is different Party Chat
[Arcs S'tar]: Are we seriously entertaining the thought of giving an enemy a host?
[Aster K'lon]: The Dungeon Core is already unstable enough.
[Aster K'lon]: However, we have all three of Jerome, me, and the P-System to cover for it. If we believe that this new System may provide us some information--which I do--I will accept its use of the broken core as a host.
[Jerome Smith]: Eh, fuck it, it's not like we don't have the power for it.
[K]: I don't care.
[Thron of the Fallen Skies]: Feels a bit wrong to me, but fuck it, the kid is the strongest out of all of us here and Aster isn't far behind.
[P-System]: I will be accepting.
P-System Log
To misquote a character from a game I once adored, solving the mystery of this world is going to be like making the mother of all omelettes, and we can't do that without cracking a few eggs. If one of those eggs is this poor corrupted Dungeon Core, so be it.
So, uh, here we go.
P-System Broadcast That's fine. How will you integrate into it? present the host Party Chat
[Aster K'lon]: It's in my bag, pardon me.
[Aster K'lon]: Here we are.
P-System Broadcast Is this the host you were looking for? satisfactory

Cast Under Ellitis
Ellitis, a world of sword and magic. Massive in size, with most of its surface unexplored. Where dragons and spirits dwell amongst men and demi-humans, where gods and devils alike barter with mortals and immortals. Beautiful as it might seem, mystical even, Ellitis is not a world for the frail. It is a place where the strong prey upon the weak, and where the weak struggle with every fiber of their being to overthrow the strong. It is here, in an unsuspecting corner of this world, that an unfortunate soul was born an orphan by the mischief of beings untold. Eliot Wyon, formerly known as Eliot Alderman, was just a mediocre engineering student in his past life. Perhaps without any help, this life of his will be just as boring as his last. But throw in an impish ex-goddess to help him along. Maybe, just maybe, he could make this life a bit more interesting. ----------------------------------------**Author's Note**---------------------------------------- Hello Everyone, I am Vi, Cat Vi. This is my first attempt at writing a story. I am a complete beginner at this. The closest thing to an organized story I’ve ever written is essay reports back in high school. There might be syntax errors and weird language all over the place. So, apologies in advance. I’ll be trying my best to make this story as interesting as possible, and with your feedback I am sure I can make something nice out of it. Constructive criticism is appreciated. And you are welcome to comment any errors you might notice. I’ll try to fix them up as soon as I can. For now, I don’t have a schedule. But if the story gets traction, I will try to work something out. **Cover Image Drawn by me.
