《Princess of Frozen Flowers, Book 1: Mountaineer Rebellion》Prologue

Prologue
Dea’s arms were shaking. Her sword was ruined: chipped all along the bloodied blade, warped by the abuse it was put through and, above all else, heavy in her tired arms. The taste of smoke and death lapped her mouth with each breath she took. Her vanguard was spearheading the push up through the mountainous kingdom and had finally reached the throne doors. The shattered remains of giant golems, magical constructs and hundreds of enemy soldiers littered the path behind them.
“Flora. Blow it open!” She yelled out through labored breath.
“This will be the last of my magic. If they have any mages left, I will not be able to counter them.” Her mage Flora replied as she walked to the front line.
“Just do it!”
The vanguard readied themselves as Flora opened her arms and began casting a grand spell. A ball of fire formed in the sky over them like a small sun, before it descended like a comet, crashing into the fortified throne doors, blowing them off their hinges. Dea along with her vanguard charged inside.
The king was large, all bulging muscles covered by a dark complexion. He sat on his throne; an oversized heavy great sword stabbed into the ground beside him. The remainder of his royal guard were stationed in this room, consisting of only four rows of men. All in battle formation between him and them. A last stand to protect their king.
“King Raden, your kingdom has fallen! Spare the lives of those left and surrender!” Dea yelled out as her vanguard formed in lines to match the enemy.
“Do you think I would surrender my great kingdom to the likes of you? I will kneel to no man, let alone a woman.” He sneered.
Dea spared another glance at the royal guard, and took note that the back line had halberds, while the frontline had shields. This would be another hard battle. “Vanguard, box formation!”

The vanguard formed around her like a box contained by 3 rows: shield bearers first, short blades second, and spears last. The box wasn’t complete though, as there wasn’t much of the vanguard left. She didn’t want any more bloodshed, so she called out to the brutish king one final time.
“King Raden, as of right now, my armies comb your streets and are occupying all your fortifications! Surrender and spare those who remain! Is your pride worth more than their lives?”
The king stepped off his throne and ripped the great sword out from the ground as he stalked forward.
“My glorious kingdom will never fall to the likes of you. After I kill you, I will enslave half of your women and put you along with the rest on pikes lining up the way here!”
“When I defeat you, you will kneel and swear fealty to me as your new High Queen. STEP FORWARD!” She shouted as the vanguard stepped in response.
King Raden stomped up right behind his men.
“Advance!” The king’s guardsmen marched forward in sync.
They both knew that whoever won this battle, would go on to rule all of Lucredia.

So far, life had done Nuriel Cunningham no favors. The orphaned daughter of a petty thief, she's had to grow up on the streets, with nothing but her wits, her late father's advice, and whatever luck she can scrounge up to keep her alive. However, now that luck seems to have ran out. After being discovered passing as a boy on a ship sailing the Caribbean, Nuriel is blamed for the ship's troubles and thrown overboard, seemingly to her demise. But rather than die, she awakes on the shores of a strange and terrifying island, one inhabited by monsters from a bygone age. Now she has to use every bit of cunning and skill just to stay alive, as one false step could cause her to be torn apart for some ancient creature's dinner. But as she works to stay alive and uncover the island's secrets, she becomes aware of something very troubling. There is someone else on the island, someone not quite human, a creature with glowing red eyes watching her from the shadows. And though the creature seems benevolent, perhaps even friendly, Nuriel is not about to let her guard down. After all, every stranger is an enemy, and there is nothing more dangerous than the attention of another person.

8 76Star Wars X Mass Effect
Like the title says, it's a crossover between Star Wars and Mass Effect. I'm using both the Star Wars Legends continuity and my personal playthrough of Mass Effect Trilogy for the story. This is actually my first fan fiction ever, so sorry in advance if chapters feel like summaries or my writing in general is off.

Diamonds of Tesmaro is an epic novel about a young Kuro man, Comotos Wellshur, who has ten years of Bounty Hunting training under his belt. He wakes from a frightmare of his past. He experiences the dream every year the night before his birthday but this year is different. That morning he meets a beautiful barmaid, Drusilla, and saves her from a wanted criminal with the highest known bounty on his head, dead or alive! He beheads the criminal, almost losing his life in the process, but the girl he saves is special. She reveals to him a hidden weapon that he carries with him at all times and he uses it to defeat the criminal, it even talks to him! They eventually fall for each other. They travel together, get to know each other, and help each other. Comotos takes Drusilla with him to meet his mentor, Mark and they end up fighting a gang of hoodlums that are literally hanging out at the Bounty Hunter Organization. Mark gives Comotos the bounty money for the criminal after he pickpockets all of the thugs they knocked out. The trio travel to the Ashlar Kingdom to tell the King and his advisor about the completed bounty and all three are rewarded with a free meal and boarding for the night, they meet the King's sorcerer and they are treated to a magic show but something doesn't smell right. After dinner Comotos talks a walk outside and finds the magician talking to someone about them on its wand, he confronts it and learns that someone across the ocean wants to meet him for a special mission. The next morning Comotos and Drusilla and the magician go into the marketplace and shop. Afterward, they take a walk to the docks where Comotos gets robbed! He chases down the culprit only to find out it is a hybrid woman, he helps her up but she spits in his eyes and calls for the guards. He is taken to jail, not before tossing his bag of money to Drusilla, telling her to keep it safe. Drusilla, unfortunately, loses the bag of money to the woman, as she is a more skilling fighter. Both the magician and Drusilla are knocked out and they wake up in darkness, tied to a thick piece of wood. The light shines in on them and the woman approaches, saying that she is sorry if she hurt them, she only wanted the money. Drusilla spittles in the woman's face and she becomes very angry and punches her in the face, which instead of hurting her, breaks her hand. The captain of the ship there comes into the room and tells the woman to get her hand looked after. He tells Drusilla that is his wife and he has to tell her often not to steal from people on the beach. They eventually go to bail Comotos out of jail, not before he meets Lance, another prisoner. He is there because he practically destroyed the very place he was meant to protect. A fellow soldier broke his glasses right after he was knighted and Lance lost his temper and ended up in jail. Comotos' weapon tells him that this guy could be an asset to him and he bails him out when Drusilla finally shows up. There is so much more that happens but I don't want to spoil anything. :3
