《Exiled Kingdom》Chapter XIII

"Giorgris, help me hold Axel."
"Seraphiel, soak the cloth in cold water and put it on his forehead, then wipe the sides of his neck with another cloth."
"Laurenz, you squeeze the flax that has been boiled and clean his wound."
He "Take the knife out of the boiling water and heat it in the fire."
When Demarcus took the knife, he hesitated. After all, the steps above were common sense, what modern people can do. But the wound was wedge-shaped and needed to be opened and debrided. He only saw injured peasants in the mountain village do it in his previous life, sometimes the hospital was too far away and it was hard to get a doctor.
He gritted his teeth and said, "Giorgris, hold him tight!" After saying that, he cut the skin with the knife.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
“He has gone silent!” Seraphiel exclaimed in surprise.
Demarcus wiped the sweat from his forehead with his hand and looked at Axel, who was no longer muttering to himself, and sighed in relief, “Keep cleaning his forehead and neck with cold water, and… pay attention to the bandage on his wound. If you find it's covered in pus, follow my method above and do another debridement…”
"Okay, Demarcus!" At this time, Seraphiel's attitude became more respectful and he treated Demarcus similarly to his master.
Demarcus looked at the small piece of wood on the ground that protruded deep from within the wound and felt a sense of accomplishment.
He left the room with Laurenz and Giorgris, and the people waiting outside rushed to ask about Axel.
"He `s much better!" Giorgris said proudly.
People applauded in surprise.
Demarcus said: “Axel is not out of danger yet, these two days are the most dangerous for him, he must trust himself to fight his illness. Seraphiel will care for him according to my method.
Demarcus told Antonio: “Make sure you give your nephew plenty of water, but remember not to make him drink raw water, the water must be boiled and then cooled. Also, when he wakes up, make him oatmeal.”

"But he will spit it out." Antonio said awkwardly.
“If he vomits, then feed him again. He consumed too much and needs food to replenish himself.” Demarcus sighed and looked at the people around him and said, “Axel needs a quiet place to recover, don't let other people come in to disturb him. Keep the room ventilated, and it is better to dry the air with fire…”
Antonio remembered it seriously and finally couldn't help asking a question: "If everything is done, will Axel be okay?"
Demarcus trailed off, if his previous life was out, a bottle of antibiotics would do the trick. But this is a primitive world in which there are few doctors and medicines, and he himself is not an expert.
He was unable to draw a conclusion and could only say, “We did our best. Now it's up to him." He quickly left after seeing the eyes of the people who bowed to him a bit.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
"Sorry, I have to go back."
"Wait, Demarcus will be back soon."
As Demarcus and the others returned to their spot, they saw Mace dragging someone.
When he saw Demarcus, he happily shouted, “Hey, Demarcus, you're finally back! I brought Asa Corbeld for you!
Asa Corbeld? ! Demarcus's eyes widened and the man was looking at him.
In Demarcus's eyes: Asa Corbeld was around 30 years old, not very tall, and has the common features of Vladians, curly black hair, a high-bridged nose, a square face, a thick beard, and, in particular, a fairly wide forehead. and a pair of intelligent and perceptive eyes.
When Asa Corbeld saw that Demarcus was just a boy coming of age, he was a bit disappointed. He soon found something special in this young man, the people behind him who are obviously older than him, surrounded him as if they were the leader of him and singled him out.
“Asa Corbeld of Pendric?” asked the young man.
"Yes."
“Student of Thymeros?”
"That's how it is." Asa Corbeld was even more curious, everyone in his camp knows that he is from Pendric, but only a few people know that he is a student of Thymeros. Most of the Vladians who came to Aserai are poor people from Battania, Sargot and Sturgia. They had no money, no land, and they could barely make a living, they can only go out and sell their lives to make money, and of course most of them are illiterate. Not to mention Asa Corbeld, who is still a nobody, even the famous Thymeros of Caraldia, not many people know about.

"Which teacher did you learn from?" Asa Corbeld asked.
"I have not studied Vladian." Demarcus said.
His answer surprised Asa Corbeld. His self-confidence over his illiteracy made it difficult for Asa Corbeld to develop a trace of contempt.
"Demarcus, today I went to several camps for a walk, I heard that there is an Asa Corbeld in the camp next door, so I brought him to you, is it him?" Mace said as if asking for a compliment.
"Your partner insisted on dragging me along and telling me that 'God's Favorite' was looking for me, and he said a lot of things about you along the way." Asa Corbeld said with a forced smile.
"Thank you Mace!" For a person who kept his casual words in mind and worked hard to deliver on them, Demarcus had only gratitude in his heart, later telling Asa Corbeld, “Mace is a very enthusiastic person, you can feel it if you've been with him for a long time. ."
Mace scratched himself embarrassingly.
Asa Corbeld understood Demarcus' indirect apology, shrugged and said that he didn't care, then looked at Demarcus and asked, "So everything he said about God's favored one is true?"
"What do you think? Will the gods bless the Vladians in Aserai land?" Demarcus asked.
"Of course! No matter where we are, the gods will never abandon us!" Asa Corbeld answered without thinking, "I can come here too because I was under the oracle of Voenar."
Asa Corbeld's answer surprised Demarcus, isn't it that the more knowledgeable a person is, the more he believes in himself and becomes an atheist?
He underestimated the extent to which the Vladians worshiped the gods and asked in amazement, "What is the oracle of Voenar?"
Asa Corbeld spoke with mild enthusiasm.
It turned out that six months ago, in Pendric, he received an invitation from a friend, in the letter, he told Asa Corbeld that the Aserai prince was a great man and that he was also sincere with the Vladians, and that he had been commissioned to hire talented Vladians, he accepted Derfeck's recruitment and invited Asa Corbeld to assist him on Razid, promising to recommend Asa Corbeld to the Aserai prince.
At that time, Pendric had just put an end to the tyrannical rule supported by the Galendians. Pendric's republicans adopted a moderate policy to restore order to the city-state, while at the same time coming to terms with Galend. Pendric's peace made young Asa Corbeld want to increase his knowledge and broaden his Razid horizons, but he hesitates. Because it was with Derfeck's help that he allowed Galend to defeat Pendric in the war, fearing punishment by Pendric's government for Asa Corbeld's association with Derfeck, Thymeros sent him to the oracle to ask the gods.
Asa Corbeld asked Voenar, to which God did he need to offer his prayer so that he could successfully complete this journey and allow him to return home safely? The oracle told him the god's name, and only after offering a sacrifice to the oracle's designated god did he set sail for Razid and join his friend's troops.
"What god did the oracle of Voenar say?" Olivors that he was listening and couldn't wait to ask.
Asa Corbeld looked at Demarcus and said slowly and clearly, "Wahdarr!"
