《The Thief》Album 2 Song 3 What is Stolen Cannot be Taken Back

She sat on the bridge over the narrow part of the park pond, her legs dangling off the old wood. She sang a nonsense song with my voice as the wind played with her wavy, brown hair.
She stopped abruptly and turned her head to me, fixing me with her beast like gold eyes, face cold. "Have something to say to me?" I blinked at her, working to keep my expressions neutral.
She tilted her head to the side, her eyes squinting and lips curving up in a smug smile, "Oh, that's right..." She continued in my voice, "... you can't speak." She turned her face back to look out at the pond. She leaned back, holding herself up with the bridge railing, her hair spilling over the old, weathered wood. "I don't know why you insist on following me around. The deal is complete. You gave me your voice, I told you where the boy went." I narrowed my eyes at her. She let go of the railing and fell back onto a bridge, hands splayed out wide to either side. A person crossing the bridge stepped right through her neck. "You sold your voice not your soul. Though you're dead you can still go anywhere or do anything you want. Honestly a much better deal than life."
I stood up from where I sat against the opposite railing, "Bye-bye, Nolan!" She sang out in my voice. I walked over to her and straddled her, bending over to grab the front of her white dress, pulling her up so we were forehead to forehead and I glared.
She narrowed her eyes, "threatening me is not something you can do little ghost boy. I'm much stronger than you." She grabbed my left forearm. The burning pain I felt was far more intense than anything I felt while alive. I didn't even have time to let go before my arm started to dissolve. I jumped away, floating up and away while clutching my forearm as my soul flaked off.

The Thief sat up, glaring coldly. Peaking out of her curls were two little horns. "Now one likes a sore loser, dead boy. Trusting a demon's deal was your own mistake, don't make it my problem. Now. Leave me alone."
I shook my head.

Tainted Reflections (A Litrpg Portal Apocalypse)
Thirty-five years ago, the world ended. A small subsection of humanity was sent to a brand new world with a game-like system that 'ensured' our survival, and the rest simply disappeared. I fought my way to the upper echelon of levels, made and lost friends over the years, and it finally felt like humanity had carved itself a small foothold in this Godforsaken place. Until one final person died. Until the system reset, and took everything I'd worked so damn hard for with it. I found myself staring at a face I barely recognized as my own, and the Earth began to end once again. Updates every day Monday thru Friday.

The Core, The Recordings of Raan - Fantasy LitRPG Story
The blue screens all around blink like crazy with red letters saying how I'm dead. I rage and wave my hands, but punch nothing but air. Then I remember what I was told, breathe in deeply, trying to steady my mind, smooth my anger, letting the blue vertigo take me with it, letting myself go...Hard-time convicts from a space orbital penitentiary are sent to a hostile planet where odds of survival are minimal. To make things even worse, their memories seemed to be wiped clean. But their killers' instincts are not, and they soon kick in.For a space wars old-timer Raan, it's all different. He remembers everything. And that's a problem. As others fight for survival, he remembers how most of them, himself included, should not even deserve to have a second chance. In a strange new world, as he fights his own demons, he is faced with new ones whose names he does not even know. But giving up is not inside his DNA and fight on he must. For to stop is to die, and to die means he failed, failed himself and all those who still desperately need him.***The Author's Note:This is another in the Core series, the first one being The Wardens of Destiny while there is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.The Recordings of Raan occurs after the events in The Wardens of Destiny, and it's a separate thread from the main story. Among other things, I separated it into a new book as it has elements of progressive LitRPG and a fantasy-world setting.Since I'll keep on writing The Wardens of Destiny, this will be one of my side-projects. Eventually in the future, I plan to integrate some of the protagonists in this story with the main storyline.
