《Grand Defender》Chapter 20

“Upgrading a Class? That sounds neat”, said Ena. “What Class are you going to upgrade?”
“I’ll see after I get some sleep”, I said lightly as I closed my eyes.
I woke up to the smell of smoke-drying fish, Ena sitting right beside the fire. I waved at her to make her notice I was now awake, then checked my Classes.
Congratulations! You can now upgrade a Class!
You will retain your previous Class perks.
[Geologist] I
[Geophysicist] II
You gain advanced knowledge about the minerals, gravity and electromagnetic field around you
[Mason] I
[Craftsperson] II
You graduate from only being able to use minerals in your crafts, to being able to use any material
[Geomancer] I
[Terramancer] II
You gain advanced control over minerals
[Spearman] I
[Spartan] II
You gain expert level proficiency with a spear
[Hunter] I
[Huntsman] II
You gain even more knowledge about prey and their habitats.
…
“[Terramancer]!”, the choice was difficult, so it ended up being personal preference.
Your Class [Geomancer] has been upgraded to [Terramancer]!
As soon as I saw my [Geomancer] Class turn into [Terramancer], I tried lifting a chunk of ground off of itself, and it actually worked! The piece wasn’t bigger than an armchair, but it could be moved easily and quickly. I imagined a good strike from one of these could take out one of those crocodiles in one hit.
“Hey, Ena, look at this!”, I said enthusiastically as I levitated the chunk, “Pretty cool, isn’t it? What did you choose for your Class?”
“I um, I chose the [Siper] Class. It lets me shoot stuff from farther away and with better accuracy”, she replied. “Could you start working on those arrows you promised me?”
Oh, I forgot about that. As such, I levitated the hunk towards me, then dropped it beside me. I then split it into equally sized triangles and let [Mason] do the rest.

“Um, Ena? Could you bring me some sticks?”, I asked. “Can’t really make arrows without them”
“Ah, sure give me a second”, she replied as she went to search for sticks.
I couldn't move much right now, although I was better than before. The hole had slightly healed while I slept, though it wasn’t much.
“[Instant Heal]”
[Instant Heal] will be available in 3:27:14
Three and a half hours? Did I sleep for twenty-one hours? Jeez
“I’m back, here’re the sticks you asked for”, said Ena as she entered my field of vision, then tossed the sticks at me. “Need water or anything else?”
“No thanks, I’ll get it myself later”, I responded. “The arrows will be done in a few minutes”
Thankfully, I didn’t need the [Craftsman] Class to make them, as long as they used minerals, I was fine.
I was done with the arrows after about fifteen minutes, making about a hundred of them.
“Don’t these need feathers?”, I asked.
“Oh, are you done with them? They don’t, actually, the System just makes them go straight or something”, Ena responded.
“Really? That’s nice”, I said as I stood up slowly. “I’ll go eat one of the fish you dryed, is that okay?”
After eating my fill and waiting a while, I used [Instant Heal], which actually worked this time. It managed to close most of the wound, but did leave a disk shape on my side for now, like if you lightly pushed a cd into some sand.
“Ahh, that feels great!”, I said as I stretched my back. “So, Ena, I know that the System hasn’t given us any time limit or something like that for now, but I think that we should start going towards others, what do you think?”

“Hmm, I think I agree. If this time was a shitshow, I can’t imagine how badly it would go next time”, responded Ena.
“Then, let's get ready to set out!”
