《Path of the Conqueror》Prologue-2

A chaotic region with no lifeform only dangerous galactic storms. It was the beginning of everything and the end of everything. True Chaos. In this darkness, a light appeared. It disappeared to make a man visible covered in a red aura.
"Haa, this is the place where I will meet her. The location is not that romantic. Ohh she hasn't arrived yet. Aa.. damn these forces are a pain in the ass." His body was being attacked by chaotic forces trying to destroy body. He was barely managing to protect his body from them with his aura.
Then suddenly the roars of storms increased several folds. A light appeared and vanished instantly as a girl was left floating there with a barrier around her. She got close to the man to envelop him in her energy barrier.
"Aah..It feels good now. You are as beautiful as... forget it"
Think what would one do if he met the world's most beautiful person. But this girl was enchanting and pure. The boy was at a loss for words. His ecstasy was beyond any limit. The woman had beautiful orange hair and crimson eyes. Her skin was unbelievably fair. True Beauty.
"Care to tell me why you have gone to such lengths to meet me. We can't be together, I told you many times. I don't even know you." the woman said in a tired tone.
The Boy claims to be in love with her. He met her by luck in another dimension. The girl rejected him but he still tried to meet her.
He introduced himself as Zeidan Ukejul Vangrur Bane. He was the son of Duke Salius Bane of the Zinovia Empire.
The girl gave him a stare. And sighed. In her dimension, everyone was faking their affection for her just for her beauty and position. Never once did anyone care about her. But this man had risked his life to just meet her. She knew that if she hadn't come on time his body would have been destroyed by chaotic forces in mere minutes.
One month ago, Zeidan accidentally summoned a space loop using an epic artifact. And mistakenly travelled to another plane. He would have been hunted like an animal, if not for her. She met him by fate. She kept him safe and also found a way to go back. But she never asked him about who he was. Neither did she tell him about herself.
But sadly, that wasn't the case for Zeidan. He had already accepted her as queen of his heart. He wanted to spend his life with her if possible even the next life.

"You like me just because I am beautiful but not for my true self. Not you! Not my father!! Nor anyone else!!!" Her eyes filled with pain and loneliness. Tears started flowing from those pearly eyes.
In her life, everyone only cared about her beauty and always saw her as an item for political use. Even her father was using her to form so-called 'allies' and 'bloodline shit'. Not caring about her wishes, and talents. The only one that loved her was her mother but she passed away leaving her lonely.
Without saying a single word Zeidan embraced her in his arms. She didn't resist but hugged him back. She cried for several minutes.
"In everyone's life, there is a time when you are alone. It's only you, no one to cover your back. That time is the most important war of your life, what you will achieve and lose will only be yours. So, if you want others to recognise your worth, be one who achieves things alone and wins alone." Zeidan pulled her head away from his shoulders to wipe her tears.
"And if you ever want to cry like a cute baby, I am always there for you."
"I don't cry like a baby." She whispered slowly but Zeidan still heard every word.
He looked into her eyes and got caught in her innocence. Like a baby who needs nothing but love in this cruel world.
"Zeidan! Hey"
"Ahh yes."
She introduced herself as Vanessa Aragon, the third daughter of Emperor Yazmin Aragon of the Arafall Empire. This was a little surprise for Zeidan that the distance between their status was this much.
"Let's go to a better place."
Vanessa teleported them to a small domain with a mansion and 1000 sq ft of land. It was covered by a golden light and darkness outside it. Zeidan was a little shocked after seeing this. He had heard about small private domains in dimensional gaps but never witnessed it.
"It's a place between space and time in the void. Given to me by Royal mage. It's called the home domain. No one other than me can find it. Accompany me to the manor."
She took him to the living room and served him a drink rather say blood. It was the blood of a rare beast. Zeidan quite liked it. He was just staring at her with a smile. Finally, she asked.
"Why you would come to a chaotic region? Even though you knew that you can't go back on your own."

This was her mistake. When they met before and Zeidan confessed his feelings for her, she thought it was just his meaningless attraction for her beauty. So, to test him she gave him a rare crystal which could bring him to a chaotic region. She told him that if he love her then go to the chaotic region.
It was the same as declining his feelings as no sane man would ever enter a chaotic region. It was even difficult for someone like herself who has chaos bloodline to survive in this region. It was a death sentence for Zeidan. But this boy in front of him had just thrown away his life for a chance to meet her. She hadn't thought that he would sacrifice himself.
Zeidan smiled for a bit before speaking.
"When I returned to my home plane, there was a feeling of loss. My mind was just stuck on you. After some time, I thought that this feeling wouldn't go until I meet you. And there was also my old man whining about studying magic formations blab bla.. So, here I am."
Vanessa looked at him for a few seconds before letting out a little chuckle.
"Just so you can avoid your homework, you jumped into a chaotic region to get killed. Huh..?"
"Didn't I say something about loss, my mind stuck on you and you just focus on my study. Well, you know what just forget it. At least I got to see you laugh. So, it doesn't matter. You are happy then so am I."
Vanessa was in a better mood now. She hasn't even smiled heartedly since her mother passed away. Her opinion about Zeidan changed in her mind. He was now less annoying.
Zeidan also noticed this change in her mood. He started sharing his tales of himself struggling under a demanding father. How his father wanted him to be the best in every single field with his expression changing with every sentence. Always whining about the expenses he was doing on Zeidan. But from his talks, it didn't seem like he was a bad man but a dad who loved his son. Vanessa just smiled and listened to him.
"That old bastard thinks I am still a child. Hey, I am here stating my crisis and you're smiling."
"Hmm..oh..sorry.. yes, I am listening. Your father looks strict. What about your mother?"
"Haa..she died after giving birth to me."
"Oh.. I am so sorry, I shouldn't have asked."
"No, it's okay."
"You must miss her, no?"
"No, why would I miss her when I barely even know her. And yes, no matter how much of an asshole my old man is, he never actually let me feel alone with all the tasks he has for me. Well, what's the situation on your side."
"Well, actually worst than you."
Vanessa's face turned gloomy. She told Zeidan about her father barely even talked to her. Just making showing her off as a priced good in front of others. She didn't have any friends. Her mother was the last person she ever talked to openly.
His father's other two wives and consorts always badmouthing about her whenever they get the chance. Her stepsisters were always jealous of her beauty and the attention she get. Her stepbrothers always bring their friends to pair them up with her.
"Are you not affected by it? You should tell your father about this? It's absurd."
"No, it will only make things worse."
"But it's torture for you."
"Why do you stay there? I can see that you're talented enough and your potential is great. You should be able to make decisions for yourself."
"No, they don't care about that. Our bloodline is of Chaos beast that is among the strongest beasts. I have the pure bloodline of this generation. And our royal prophet has said that I will give birth to a very powerful descendent."
Zeidan understood her situation and that she was safe because of the prophecy no one would dare to hurt her at least physically. After some talk, Vanessa felt like her huge burden has lessened. She couldn't believe that she told him to come back when he got time and gave him coordinates of her home domain.
As time flew away, their bond grew more strong. They started meeting more often and spending more time together. Vanessa could feel the change in her life. Zeidan was now the only one in her life who she loved.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.

Dragon Ball, A True Coherent Fan-Fic
Author: So I was writing and erasing every time I had a chapter for my other story, I felt it had something missing. So I decided to practice by doing a Fan Fic after reading some of them. Some of them almost made puke of how much they made me cringe. Now I'll make it justice my doing one. I don't have to create too deep of lore. I can just work around what's already there and fix some things I hated in the original work. Vegito being retcon. Launch being lost in limbo. No love for Tien Shinhan. Synopsis: I died and reincarnated in the Dragon Ball universe. This is how everything went down after was reborn.
