We walk till our extremities go numb from the cold. And that's when we realize that we're lost.

We had to make a few stops here and there so that I could have a meltdown cause my brain would randomly turn on and have unpleasant flashbacks of tonight, but other than that it was pretty therapeutic hearing him go on and off about the things he's passionate about. At one point it felt like I was ready to pass the geography final I failed years ago just by listening to the pile of random facts he knew about countries.

I made it clear that I don't want to go back home even if George and Nick leave. I simply do not want to step a foot inside. I don't know why, that's how I feel.

And because both of us were freezing to our deaths slowly, Clay comes up with a genius idea.

"Oh my god.. we should- we should like- wait.." that's not the idea, that's him pulling out his phone and looking at the map for a few minutes, "Yes! Let's go."

It's funny how he expected me to just follow him blindly without asking where he was taking us with that much determination.

"Where are we going?" My voice is so different that it catches me off-guard. I've never encountered a sick frog in my life, but I imagine it to sound like this.

"There's a hotel nearby! How did I not think of that? C'mon, it's gonna be so fun!" The excitement in his voice paired with him literally pulling from my arm to follow him leaves me with no other choice than to start walking.

"Wait- what hotel?" I guess it doesn't even matter anymore. We're going.

"I think we need to go this way.. no- this way.." he completely ignores my words, holding his phone with one hand and my hand with the other, "yeah, this way."

"I feel bad," I sigh, annoyed with myself, "you're like dog-walking and babysitting for free."

Clay stops, turning his head to frown at me, "What?"

"Like.. ugh.. you don't have to," he could be asleep in his warm and cozy bed right now but instead he's freezing outside and probably getting ear bleeds from the sounds of me sniffling constantly and breaking down every half an hour. And as if all of that wasn't enough, now he has to babysit me in a hotel.

"Are you crazy? There's no other place I'd rather be right now," he grabs my hand and continues pulling me to the destination, "you're gonna have the best sleepover of your life, trust me."

Bold of him to assume that he has competition.

Anyways, we walk. For another ten or fifteen minutes.

I'm more than positive that we're lost again, but Clay's too full of himself to admit it. In his words, he knows where we're going, but in my eyes, he's just improvising.

But eventually we get to the hotel, he books a room, we go to the said room, Clay happily hops into the shower, and I completely dissociate lying down on the bed and biting my knuckles, thinking what the hell just happened. This is all just surreal. It feels like I'm gonna wake up any minute.

Clay gets out of the shower. I'm happy to announce that he didn't fall asleep in there this time, and I'm even happier to see that he's fully clothed this time as well.

Even though I'm watching him dry his hair with the towel, my brain doesn't even acknowledge his presence for the first few seconds cause it's busy making me nibble on my fingers.

"That's cannibalism," he points at me and I drop my fingers from my mouth guilty-eyed.

"I'm just grazing my teeth on my skin," I try to justify my actions.

"Don't do that," he throws the towel on the chair, pushing his hair away from his forehead with his fingers.

"It feels good," I shrug and regret my words, realizing that I just casually admitted that I like the feeling of teeth on skin.

I hope he doesn't think of it that way. I hope he just thinks I'm weird. His face expression doesn't change, so I think we're safe. Yet mine changes when he speaks.

"So do you wanna sleep or have fun?" He smiles, sitting on the edge of the bed I'm lying on.

Either my mind is dirty or he sounded suggestive.

"What fun?"

It catches me off-guard when Clay shakes his head vigorously, letting his wet hair fall everywhere on his face. Right as I'm about to question it, he speaks, "Do you wanna give me a haircut?"

My eyes widen in surprise as I sit up straight to look at him closely and see if he's really serious. And when I see that he is, I'm shocked. That's a level of trust I didn't expect anyone to have for me.

"I've never cut a guy's hair before," I admit, thinking that'll put him off. I've given myself a few haircuts in my life and I'm pretty good at cutting bangs, but I have no idea what to do with a hairstyle like his.

"I mean, you gotta start somewhere.." he smiles. The risks he's taking just to distract my mind and make my day better.

"But I like your hair though.. I don't think it needs cutting," he has the softest golden locks I've ever laid my hands on, and he's asking me to ruin it.

Clay grabs a strand and pulls it down until it touches his nose, "You can't tell me I don't need a trim," he giggles. The sound automatically puts a smile on my face, "c'mon, if it turns out horrible I'll go to a barber and get it fixed. It's just hair, it'll grow back."

I look at him and he looks at me. He slowly sticks out his bottom lip and I consider hitting his face with a pillow cause it's disgustingly cute. And finally, I give in.

"Fine, I'll trim your hair and you'll dye my roots then."

His eyes sparkle at the start of my sentence and widen at the end. It's gonna be so funny if we ruin each other's hair, but wigs exist for a reason, right?

"Wait.. your hair is dyed?"

Why is he confused? And when he looked at my blonde roots and black ends, did he think I have multicolored hair?

"Yeah?" I laugh.

"I thought.. no way," he takes a look at my hair again, and it finally hits him, "wait, you're blonde!?"

"Yeah?" I laugh, finding his confusion painfully hilarious, "My behavior makes so much more sense now, right?"

For a moment I forget, but the way his face changes reminds me that he's a blonde too. Well, if I'm not offended, he shouldn't be as well.

In conclusion, we end up going to 3 different stores just to find the hair dye I wanted. We also get a few pairs of hair-styling scissors and impulsively buy a stick and poke tattoo kit; god knows if we're gonna use it. And we get snacks. Lots and lots of snacks. It was all impulsive, but I've never been so excited my whole life.
