《The poet and the bard》I'm still standing

Elizabeth didn't know how to feel, or what to say. She just stood there, frozen in place.

That was until her brother spoke.

"Hey sis." He muttered, his voice deep, almost shameful. "I-I'm sorry I didn't come to visit sooner. Mother never told me where you were buried, so I had to try and find Markus. He wasn't too pleased about me coming to see you. I can't blame him."

Elizabeth moved closer to him, stepping in front of him to see his face.

He hadn't changed much from what Elizabeth could remember. He just looked older, more stern.

"You've barely changed" She managed to choke out, her hands clenched in fists by her sides.

Egad pushed his glasses up, gripping the flowers a little tighter. "I'm so sorry, sis. Mother may have not seen your talent but I did. I went to one of your concerts once. I booked the tickets last minute so I was in the back, but seeing you on stage, doing what you loved, it made me realise how stupid I'd been."

Elizabeth smiled sadly, looking him dead in the eyes. "It was never your fault Egad. Don't blame yourself for something our mother caused."

He let out a long sigh, placing the flowers down at the stump of the tree. "I wish we could've made up, become closer like other siblings do. But knowing I'll never get that chance..."

He paused for a moment, a few tears running down his cheeks.

"It really gnaws at me, Elizabeth. So consider this my final goodbye. I hope that wherever you are, you're doing well" he choked. "I hope that you forgive me."

Elizabeth, let out a shaky sob. "Of course I forgive you, it was never your fault. I'm so happy to be able to see you again!" She nearly screamed.

Egad's eyes shot up, he glanced around the garden. "What was that?" He whispered. "E-Elizabeth?" He asked cautiously, he felt like he'd gone mad.

Elizabeth glared at him, confused as to what the hell just happened. Did...did her brother just hear her?

She said it again, louder. "I'm so happy to see you again!"

Egad gasped, stumbling back. "Who's there? Show yourself!"

Elizabeth couldn't believe what was happening. She looked to Thomas, who was standing at the outside of the garden. "Tom come here! Something crazy is happening."

Thomas obeyed and did his silly little speed walk over to Elizabeth. "What is it Lizzy?"

"It's my brother! I yelled at him and he heard me, or at least part of what I said. Watch."

Elizabeth walked back over to where Egad was, he was very shaken up, and had pulled out his phone to call an taxi to pick him up.

"Egad! Can you hear me?" She shouted, feeling determined.

"Jesus! What the hell is that? Where are you?"

That confirmed her suspicions. Why would this start happening now? She'd never been able to do this before.

Egad stumbled back, picking himself up and booking it for the entrance to the house.

Elizabeth chased after him, not wanting to loose her brother again. "Egad wait! Don't go yet!it's me, your sister!"
