《The Silent Queen》Wedding Vows

The long week of waiting was finally over.
Link puffed his cheeks out nervously as he stared at himself in the mirror for the umpteenth time. He tidied up his already immaculate hair and then proceeded to straighten the flower and brooch on the lapel of his black tunic. He the held up a piece of paper in front as his eyes darted across the page of his spidery handwriting. He cursed as he felt the back of his neck becoming moist again as he ran back into the bathroom to splash water over his face.
"You've got this." He breathed, leaning over the sink, listening to the water trickling from the tap and into the drain.
He could feel the contents from his half-heartedly eaten breakfast rising up as he gripped the sink with all of his might to prevent it from making an exit.
"It's going to be the best day ever." He weakly said to himself, almost singing, "Oh Goddesses, why am I so nervous?!"
He tapped his polished boots on the floor, attempting to calm himself down.
"I... Definitely shouldn't have eaten that breakfast..."

Zelda twirled in front of the mirror as she adored the crisp white dress she had just put on. It was an immaculate white gown which hung off of her shoulders as it flowed down her body and gently skimmed the floor. She slipped on a pair of silk gloves, and pulled them up to her elbow, then flexed her hand out in front of her and she took a deep breath.
Flung on her bed was a bunch of Silent Princesses that were tied into a neat bunch by a blue ribbon, and beside it was a veil which was attached to a glistening tiara.
"Oh... I hope the food is ok..." Zelda mumbled as she began pacing the room, "And the cake. And the decorations. And that everyone has been invited. And the cutlery!"
She looked at herself in the mirror again, brushing down her dress, and fixing the golden trimmings which hung from her waist.
"And the toilets!" She burst out suddenly, "Dearest me, how could I not have thought of that!"
There was a knock in the door, and Zelda let out a quiet yelp.
"Your Majesty, are you ready?" A servant called out.
"As ready as I'll ever be." Zelda replied as she picked up the bouquet and her veil.

Link was stood at the alter of the castle's chapel, nervously tapping his foot on the floor. All of the guests were seated in pews, and were staring at him intently. It was lovely to see a mixture of races in front of him: Hylian, Zora, Rito, Goron and Gerudo. Sat at the front pew were the beaming faces of the allies who had helped him in save Zelda. His bride. Teba gave him the thumbs up as Yunobo punched the air, and Riju smiled. He smiled back, but then averted his eyes to gazing at the chapel itself.
The chapel was the second most beautiful place in castle, after the gardens, in Link's opinion. Behind him was a grand marble statue depicting a woman who held a harp in her hands, and was dressed in a flowing fabric. Link had a huge amount of respect for the sculptor since he thought they had managed to capture the divineness and serenity of the Goddess. Up on the ceiling was yet another outstanding form of art. It displayed the creation of Hyrule, and in the middle was three women, each dressed in red, blue and green respectively. Between the three of them was a golden triangle, which seemed to be shining across the land which these women were leaving behind. The art was stunning, perfectly reflecting how it must have been like to see the creation of the land they now dwelled in.
"You nervous old chap?"
Link turned his head to see Sidon smirking at him as he stood at his side. The Queen and General decided that the Zora Prince would be the perfect best man.
"No, not at all." Link replied sarcastically.
"Hm, strange, you seem to be on edge." Sidon stated thoughtfully.
The Hylian exhaled as he rolled his eyes, hiding a smirk which was creeping up on his face. The smirk, however, instantly melted away when the organ began to play a soft, mellow tune, and the grand oak doors of the chapel burst open. All of the guests eagerly stood up as Link's eyes widened.
"Woah." Both He and Sidon muttered.
They watched as Zelda glided down the aisle between the pews, her dress flowing around her as Paya followed behind, who was dressed in a simple, yet elegant, purple gown. Zelda grinned at Link as she tightened her grip on the silent princess bouquet and continued waling, her veil trailing behind her. When she neared the alter, the General held out his hand and led her to his side. They both stood in front of the priest, they hearts pounding.

"Today we are gathered here today to join this couple in marriage." The priest began as the guests sat down, "But before we begin, I must ask, does anyone object to this marriage. If they do, speak so now, or forever hold your peace."
The bride and groom awkwardly shuffled on their feet as the priest waited.
"I object!"
Both Link and Zelda spun around to see an old man stand up and wave his arms around frantically.
"Who's that?" Link murmured.
"Well, in that case-" The priest began.
"No, I was joking." The old man said, "It's just how like there's always someone there to object to the marriage, and I wanted to be that person. Anyway, carry on."
The guests glared at the old man as he sat down. The priest cleared his throat before continuing.
"Marriage is a holy state in which two people choose to spend their lives together..."
Link's eyes glassed over as his attention drifted away from the words of the priest. He knew this was all part of the ceremony and all, but he couldn't just stand around and listen for a long time. He had suggested to Zelda that they just have an unofficial marriage where they said their vows to each other and that was that, but he received a dirty glare from her afterwards. His mind then wondered off to all of the food that he could eat at the reception. Mountains of delicious gourmet food galore. He had to take all of his will to prevent himself from drooling.
"And now say your vows."
There was a moment of silence as everyone stared at Link, who was oblivious to what was going on.
"Hey!" Zelda hissed, nudging him.
The groom snapped out of his trance, and stared at her questioningly.
"Vows." She mouthed.
His eyebrows lifted up in surprise, and he then took hold of his bride's hands and cleared his throat as he looked her in the eye.
"I Link take you Zelda to be my wedded wife. I promise to look after you no matter what, and to always be there for you..." He paused before smirking, "I also pledge to not steal the food from your plate, or to waste your bottles of perfume..." His smirk turned into an adoring smile, "I will love you for an eternity. My love for you is... Probably up there with food."
The guests laughed as Zelda rolled her eyes and chuckled.
"I Zelda take you Link to be my wedded husband. I promise to stand by your side no matter what we go through, and to always love you, even when you are difficult and childish. I also vow to stop you from recklessly throwing yourself into dangerous situations, and to make sure that you are never hungry."
The bride and groom smiled.
"Now you must exchange the rings." The priest said.
Sidon held out a small cushion, on which two rings were laid out. Zelda took a plain golden ring; Link took a golden ring with a diamond. He took hold of her left hand, and slipped the ring on her ring finger. Zelda did the same for Link, and once they were done, they gazed at each other proudly.
"I know pronounce you husband and wife!" The priest declared joyously, "You may now kiss the bride!"
As Link drew nearer to Zelda, a flower ball which was suspended above their heads dropped down and hung between them, preventing them from getting any closer.
"Oh, I am so done with this!" Link growled.
He pushed the flower ball away and pulled his wife into a kiss, making the guests stand up again and cheer happily. As they continued to kiss, the flower ball swung back and smacked the side of his head.
"We're married." Zelda breathed.
"Really? I didn't know."
She patted his shoulder as the guests continued to cheer. Link smirked as he hauled her up into his arms and walked back down the aisle, rice grains showering over them.
"It's going to be hell taking these out of my hair." Link sighed.
"I'll help you up." Zelda replied.
"Yeah, well you better do it before the reception."
----------
"So you're finally awake..."
Yeah, its been like 100 years since I last updated. You have my apologies. I've just finished my exams, so I'm a bit more free now. Yay. Anyway. Wedding. They're married. Wow, how time flies. I still remember my bored self writing these two in the Silent Princess XD.
