《The Silent Queen》A Busy Day

Four years ago, Zelda was still locked in the century long battle with Calamity Ganon. Those one hundred years were filled with fear and no rest.

Four years ago, Link awoke from the Shrine of Resurrection and saved the princess and Hyrule from the rampage of malice. He had lost all memory of his life before the calamity, and so came back to a completely alien land.

Four years ago, the princess and her knight traversed the land of Hyrule, seeking alliance from all four races, and on a blessed night, confessed their love to each other.

That was all four years ago. But now, Zelda was fast asleep in her four poster bed, lost in calming dreams, free of worry.

"Zelda..."

Her name echoed through her head.

"Zelda."

The voice sounded familiar.

"Zelda!"

Her eyes flickered open to see a cheery face beam over her. His blue eyes locked onto her green ones, his golden side burns falling down the side of his face.

"I'm sorry to have awoken the Queen from her slumber, but... You did the same to me."

"What, I woke you up from a one hundred year sleep to save Hyrule?" Zelda mumbled as she sat up and rubbed her eyes.

"Well, my Queen, you have a lot to attend to today." Link said as he watched Zelda staggered out of her bed.

"Like what, General Link..."

"You have to meet up with some merchants, go visit the townsfolk," He listed off as Zelda slowly slipped out of her nightgown into her royal gown, "go to a meeting with a few ambassadors of neighbouring kingdoms, and don't forget the ba-"

"Oh Hylia!" She exclaimed whilst lost in her dress, "I forgot!"

Link chuckled as she ran about the room, searching for her shoes and silk gloves. He busied himself by adjusting his arm guard and tightening his belt, then by picking the little bits of fluff from his tunic, which was a green and yellow version of his old blue and white Champion's Tunic. He tried to avert his eyes from Zelda so he wouldn't burst into a fit of laughter.

"I'm going to be late!" She gasped, scurrying around the room.

"Are you not eating breakfast?" He asked.

"No time." Zelda replied as she quickly kissed him on his cheek, "You need to shave."

"I thought I'd grow a beard." He said, stroking his chin.

"Yeah, so the soldiers don't think that their General is some boy." Zelda laughed hastily as she slipped on her shoes and gloves after finally finding them, "Bye, love you!"

She hurried out of the room and left Link staring at the spot where she disappeared.

"Oh, wait!"

Zelda reappeared at the door.

"You're going to be at the meeting with the ambassadors, right?" She asked, "the General has got to be there."

"Yeah, I'll be there." Link replied.

"Oh, good." Zelda said ,"ok, bye."

She hurried out of the room again and ran through the hallways of the rebuilt castle. It had been restored to its former glory, and looked exactly as it did one hundred years ago. A lot of hard work went into re-building the castle, but the result was phenomenal, and Zelda was certain that the people of Hyrule were more than happy to have the centre piece of their kingdom restored to its former glory.

"Good morning, Your Majesty." The servants would greet the Queen as she dashed passed them.

"Good morning." Zelda would breathlessly reply.

She continued to run through the castle, and finally arrived outside of her new study.

"Gentlemen..." Zelda said to the merchants waiting there.

"Your Majesty." They greeted, bowing down in front of her.

"Arise." she said, "Shall we proceed with our business?"

She opened the door to her study and allowed the merchants through. All three of them filed in and took a seat at the desk.

The study had an air of cosiness about it. A flickering fire was alight in front of Zelda's desk, and hung above it was the photo of the Champions taken from one hundred years ago. On the desk, many trinkets and notebooks were littered about, many of them to do with research. Facing the Queen was a framed picture of Link. Zelda remembered taking it when he had a cheesy grin painted on his face and was oblivious to her taking the picture with the Shiekah Slate.

"Well, where shall we begin?" Zelda asked whilst taking a seat behind the desk.

"Your Majesty," Started one of the merchants, "We believe that we may have discovered a new type of gemstone."

"Oh, really?" Zelda asked airily.

"Yes, we found it in the Lanayru region." Another merchant explained as he pulled out a violet gem.

"Its very pretty." The Queen remarked, holding it in her hands.

"Indeed." The third merchant agreed, "However, since its something that has never been found before, we thought it would be wise to have it tested before we start selling it."

"Uh huh." Zelda muttered as she stared at the stone.

They all sat in silence before Zelda realised that she was supposed to say something to them.

"Oh, uh. I'll give this to my research team." She said hastily, "I'll have them check if this is safe. I daresay it is."

"Thank you, Your Majesty." The merchants said graciously as they got up and left the study.

As soon as they were gone, Zelda slammed the stone down and stared at it with annoyance.

"Why does everyone have to come to me when they find a new rock?"

*******

"Attention!"

A squadron of soldiers stamped their feet to attention as Link overlooked them.

"Right dress!" Link bellowed.

The soldiers lifted up their right arm and shuffled into position whilst facing right.

"Eyes front!" Link commanded.

The soldiers snapped their heads forward.

"Very good, men." Link said, pacing up and down in front of the squadron, "You are all certainly getting better at this."

Many of the soldiers were quite young, though most of them were probably older than Link himself. Ever since Link and Zelda got back from fighting Ganon, an army had to be crafted, so the Hero of The Wild took it upon himself to train the men of Hyrule to be the best army there was.

Right now, Link was exhausted. A whole day of overseeing soldiers and making plans for emergency defence was quite tedious and tiring.

"I've heard that many of you have been making excellent progress," Link continued, projecting his voice, "Meaning, that some of you are likely to be promoted to corporal."

There was a murmur amongst the soldiers.

"Silence!" Link shouted, "You are at attention, you remain silent at all times!"

He looked down at his new Shiekah-made watch. His face froze when he realised that he was late.

"I have to go now, Lieutenant Burlon will over see your training." Link said to the soldiers, "Soldiers, dismissed!"

Once the soldiers were dismissed, Link hurried into the castle and sprinted through the hallways, frantically searching for the room in which the meeting the ambassadors was taking place.

"I sure hope she doesn't seal me away." He muttered to himself

Yay! The sequel is finally out! I hope you enjoy this one.

I'd just like to note that I may not update this as much as I would due to my mock exam coming up as well as an actual GCSE in May, but I will certainly try to update as often as I can.
